This truly is a hidden gem. It is a beautifully restored building that is nicely decorated and architecturally pleasing. The family suite was spacious, had comfortable beds with ac/heat, and amenities. The staff member greeted us warmly and was very friendly.

The only thing that could be a negative is the stairway entrance. It was fine for us but anyone with a disability or trouble navigating stairs should be aware that it’s a lot of steep steps. The area around the hotel is a bit unkempt but it’s a quick drive to the waterfront and lots of great opportunities for dining/shopping. It’s also close to grocery and quick foods.

Huge room. Very comfortable bed and duvet and lovely neutral and tasteful decor. Black out curtains which helped with sleep. Very nice ensuite with lovely floor tiles. It was very close to where I needed to be in Bootle and also very close to the city centre. There is a nice mini supermarket very close by and also a post office with a cash point. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful and the hotel feels safe and private and is good value for money.

Nothing at all really. Being able to get a nice cofee at the hotel in the morning rather than just the instant coffee sachet in the room would have been nice or maybe a glass of wine to take to my room in the evening as I had thought the hotel had a bar. But the information in the room explained breakfast facilities were not provided. There is a pub below the hotel. If it was possible to buy a glass in the pub and take it upstairs to the room that would have been great. However the hotel was very reasonable and the quality of the room and ensuite for the price made it very good value for money.

Excellent staff-Abdul was always on hand and available to help if needed. I had to check in late at the last minute and that wasn’t a problem. I was able to park right outside the hotel on the street without any issues. I felt very safe and it was lovely and quiet in the room. The room was amazing! Set over 2 floors with 2 bathrooms it was very comfortable, had original gothic features of the building, was clean, modern, and had all the facilities you need.

Not really anything to add here. Breakfast would have been nice but it does say on the info when you check in that they can’t offer this due to Covid.

The room was immaculate; well-equipped, comfortable and clean. The location is very convenient for Goodison Park and anything Everton-related. Manager, Abdul, is just fantastic; super-friendly and nothing is too much trouble for this gentleman.

If I had been given the entry code in advance of my trip (the rooms are accessed via a secure gate in the side street off County Road. The staff in the pub helpfully let me go through there, although these are now 2 separate businesses.) arrival could have been easier. Other than that, there is nothing to dislike about staying at The Glebe.

Beautiful building great welcome and carried case to room and shows you the room unlike many that just give you the key and off you go very welcoming host all the modernisation is done to a very high standard rooms very big pub downstairs very good and no noise from it either night Easy bus access to city and plenty of them

The steps and access could be better but it is an old building , (need to inform people on the booking where the entrance is) the fire escape type steps could do with gripper type treads very slippy on a frosty morning a lot of lighting not working , tv remote back missing and dirty central blown heating very noisy very minimal issues and would not deter me from returning I’m sure they will be now fixed

Bed and bedding was comfortable. Room was well done, neat and very clean.

1. It was difficult to work out how the heating worked. The room was very cold when we came into the room and as it remained cold I wasn't sure whether the heating was working or not. As it was quite late, there was nobody at reception to help. I had to go to bed with many layers on, and then woke up at 2am boiling as the heating was then working and I was too hot, I then woke up at about 4am with the room freezing again. Its obviously not very well insulated. I think the heating should be put on before the guest arrives to a temperature that will be comfortable. Clear printed instructions for the heating should be made available. 2. It wasn't in the best area and parking is on the street so not ideal. 3. No breakfast on offer.

Lovely little hotel, modern decor in an old listed building. The room we stayed in was on the first floor and was easy to get to. The pub underneath closed around 11pm so the noise was very minimal and you couldn't hear the people in there. Paul (owner of the hotel)was pleasant and helpful and you could ask for extra milk, tea and coffee if need be. There was a chargeable mini bar in the room of you fancied a snack but there were many shops close by. We used this to go to a Liverpool match and was within a 30 minute walk. I don't think you would get free parking outside if it was an Everton game though. WiFi was free and worked well.

We were a little confused as we thought that the pub and hotel were run by the same people but the bar lady explained it was completely separate. We seen some photos of lovely cocktails but they are no longer selling them. Just a tiny martini 2 for £8 a little expensive for what they were. We were looking forward to having a nice breakfast but there wasn't an option for this so was disappointing. The fridge (mini bar) was a little noisy and woke us up around 5am humming but we managed to just chill in bed before getting washed and dressed for the day. The cost of the hotel was expensive for one night...maybe bumped up due to the match but I am not sure.

The room was spotless. Staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you. The pub downstairs had an amazing atmosphere and transport links into town and the football grounds were brilliant. On arriving Paul met us and took us to our room, the rooms were spotless and the attention to detail was impeccable. Have you ever been in a hotel and thought? Oh I wish they had this.... Well, here we didn't think that once. Everything was there. From hairdryer, iron, even extra tea/coffee supplies on the reception. The room itself was absolutely stunning. It had a natural sky light which gave the room a gorgeous orange glow each morning, very romantic to wake up too. The staff were amazing too. Diane in the bar downstairs was such a lovely woman and booked us a taxi every time we needed, all whilst providing a friendly wel owing atmosphere.

The only downside would be access to the hotel after the pub had closed. We came back after midnight on the Saturday night and waited outside for at least 15 minutes. The area isn't the best and it was quite intimidating to be hanging around down a side street waiting for the night porter to let us in. Could easily be rectified with a key to the outside gate being provided with the room key so you could wait in the courtyard for the porter to open the door.

Unusually high standard of cleanliness and comfort. The interior looks completely new. The staff was very straightforward and friendly. Paul the owner genuinely cares about the guests’ experience and is very open to feedback on how to improve his hotel - which was extremely refreshing.

Noise levels can be a problem if you’re sensitive to that (perhaps best to request a room on the 3rd floor in that case). Saturday evening music from the pub below was very loud - but thankfully all done by 11pm so not a big problem. Other downside was that there was no breakfast available - which was not clear from the booking.com description.

Doesn't look much at all from the outside... I even went into the pub to check-in but the hotel gate was around the side. The entry system is a bit odd, and the area is 'salt of the earth' but once inside the hotel, it is excellent. Comfortable, very clean, great wi-fi, huge TV and the manager was super-helpful. The bathroom was spotless, and looks relatively new, and well-appointed. The contrast from outside the building to inside was remarkable.
