Golf View Hotel & Spa

This a hotel situated right in front of the ocean. It’s rather call it ocean view than golf view. It is located in very nice and calm region. The rooms are spacious and very nice, containing everything needed. Spa is great, we used to take it everyday. It is very dog friendly hotel as well.

This is the common problem for most of the hotel within UK is that you have to order you breakfast, even continental: I want to choose myself how much yogurt I want and not asking all the time once again. Also related thing to this is that you have to book breakfast time all the time and cannot just walk it. It’s ok if you are on business trip but staying on vacation I want some flexibility and not rushing all the time… to meet 10am bar.

Good breakfast. Tea was poured for us. Room was of good size and comfortable. We particularly liked the old fashion radio and telephone in the bedroom. Dinner was fine with good quality of food.

Breakfast - It is not buffet and you will need to book a time slot for breakfast, though there were plenty of empty tables during our stay. The hotel restaurant should be able to cater for more diners. Not told where the juices were located until asked. No cereal or fruit was on display, so you had to ask as it was not verbally offered. Ordered tea for two people, but only one middle size pot was given which could only pour 2.5 cups of tea, so more tea had to be ordered. Service was slow. Dinner - Again, booking was required and again plenty of empty tables during our stay. I reiterate that the hotel restaurant can certainly cater for more people instead of making people book in advance when half the restaurant is empty. Lack of choices for food. Slow service.

Our room was spacious due to it being a family room, this was all that was available when we booked for the 2 of us. Great that there was fresh ground coffee as well as tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and pretzels. View is delightful and bed was comfortable, but the mattress topper and heavy duvet made for an uncomfortable, rather warm sleep. Breakfast choice was excellent and smoked salmon & scrambled eggs were delicious!

Sunday dinner was a "Sunday roast" service was slow and main course was average which was a disappointment. Waiting staff were all pleasant but obviously stretched to cover all tables, our dirty dishes weren't cleared at breakfast which meant not much room on small tables. I've also never been told in a higher end hotel that they'd run out of glasses in the bar.

The pool and spa were excellent. The panoramic view was awesome. Very relaxing. The room was lovely. The food was good and I enjoyed it. The tea and coffee making facilities were excellent. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We were delighted to get the sea view room. There were some nggling unnecessary disappointments. The lighting was not user friendly we were unable to turn on the small overhead lights independently. The very large bedside lamps were just useless. They took up all the bedside cabinet space which I would have preferred to use for water, medication, phone etc. why the huge lamps? The pillows were a bit hard. A selection of hard and soft would be ideal. My husband thought his main course was not enough for a hungry person.

Liked being served breakfast rather than having guests and staff wandering around the dining area. Lovely Spa suite. Spacious room Very easy staff group. Beautiful gardens ( could be more autumn plants ) Loved direct access to beach and beach walks.

There was some problem in the early evening on Saturday in the bar ,glasses piling up on the bar ,locals jumping the queue for ordering . Staff attention not on what was in front of them. Having got ‘dressed up’ for an evening meal in the hotel we waited 20? minutes for a drink and had to listen to the complaining of the visitors beside us . Quite unsettling really. If there was a staffing issue it would have been helpful to be told ,apology ?

Every member of staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable, comfortable and welcomed. They work hard and ensure all needs are catered from. Excellent customer service The food was out of this world. Steak and pouched eggs were cooked to perfection. The spa was definately worth a visit. Watching the sunset from the outdoor hottub was a memory I'll never forget. The location of the hotel was stunning. I fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the waves from my hotel room. Peaceful and Tranquil would describe the experience. ***** 5 star service and quality of stay. Will definately be back and planning to get membership for the spa and its rewards.

There is nothing I didn't like. If I had to say anything it would be that my stay wasn't long enough and didn't like leaving. Would highly recommend this hotel for spa lovers , golfers and those who love a hotel by the sea. Truly beautiful.

I am very very picky and I had no complaints. Spa was fantastic with a lovely feel as soon as you enter! It was the warmest pool side area I have ever visited making you feel like you are abroad and wanting to dip in the pool. The room was nice and bathroom very clean. Food was good and breakfast was a feast!! Couldn’t believe how much food you got (not just a simple buffet style place). The view is also lovely which makes a difference. Everybody was really friendly and helpful- even though it is a posh place, it wasn’t snooty at all. There were loads of books you could read in the comfy living area too. Currently staying at the AA at loch fyne which has nothing on this hotel. I would love to go back

Nothing it was great

The facilities were first class and the staff were exceptional and a credit to the management. The food was prepared to a very high standard.

The room was a little disappointing (room 11) and was not good value for money on this occasion. However having said the latter the service provided by the the staff and the hotel facilities more than made up for the disappointment with the room, which became less significant for that reason and I must say the management took the criticism concerning the room in a positive and professional way and handled our concerns very well. So much so that we will be making a further visit in the near future.

Excellent location next to a beautiful beach. We loved the pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna and steam room. The meals were delicious.

The customer service was inconsistent. Sometimes we felt like a bother. I asked for wine and the server said she was very busy. She brought the wine halfway through the meal. It would be nice if you could have snacks in the beautiful drawing room along with drinks. One night we couldn’t get dinner reservations and the bar wouldn’t serve us anything, which was disappointing. This property has so much unfulfilled potential.

We got a lovely family room despite being only two. The spa was very relaxing and the food was good. Staff were friendly and generally efficient

We had very slow breakfast service on the first morning despite having to book a time slot. No one seems to cover the breakfast check in and it is left to the next person who comes along. When you turned the hot water tap on it took ages for water to come out. I nearly rang reception.( it must happen a lot) Presumably it's a geyser system because it then took a while for the water to heat. Was OK when you worked it out. The handle on the shower door was loose. These are all minor problems but fixing them would improve your score.
