We had to book a hotel very last minute as there was a problem with our other property so wasn’t expecting too much when I just searched for the cheapest place with availability but it was lovely. Staff very welcoming considering we turned up as they were closing. We got a family suite and it was great, the beds were very comfortable. Also, it is actually two rooms so the adults do not have to sit in the dark once the kids are in bed, brilliant!

The cooked breakfast wasn’t great, overcooked bacon and very milky eggs, but the options of cereals, juices etc was good.

Nice stay. We had booked the family room (the suite), and it was actually 2 rooms with a bath in the middle. Our two children had the flu so we came in early and the host was kind to give us the room very early in the day, which was good for us. They also provided us with an extra oven to heat the room up quickly because of our early arrival. We really liked the old fashion style and friendly host, and had a great dinner in the restaurant in the evening and traditional breakfast in the morning. We had some hikes in the local park and on towards the Nelson tower that was closed for the seaon.

The rooms we had had only single glasses in the window which causes some humidity on the glasses during our stay. It became wet and humid on the glasses and I guess that is just normal but I would think it would be an idea to upgrade the windows with new one :)

We stayed in the Ramnee Hotel a few years ago, it was fantastic! Within walking distance of the local town with coffee bars, restaurants and local shops. It is opposite a lovely park. Lovely walks to do. We stayed with our pet dog Molly and the hotel couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing too! The gardens are beautiful, we had lovely weather and were fortunate enough to be able to sit outside. We stayed from 29th July to the 1st August.

We so disappointed with our stay this time. We stayed three night, the rooms weren't cleaned, towels not changed. The breakfast was disappointing. We ate in the restaurant, again, not where near as good as our stay pre covid. The best thing about this hotel was the amazing staff, in particular lady who was rushed off her feet, attending the bar and the reception area always with a smile on her face and telling us "no problem" The hotel needs a lot of money spending on it.

Reception staff were excellent. Cleaning staff were good. Breakfast staff were generally good, but see below.

There could have been a wider selection of cold items to choose from. Breakfast on Day 1 was fine. I stayed two nights. Breakfast on Day 2 was spoilt as I went down shortly after they opened (7am) and the chef had not turned up. I waited a while but in the end gave up on having a hot breakfast. I know these things happen but I felt the price I paid should have at least provided the basic kitchen staffing.

Beautiful property and grounds, nice car park with plenty of spaces, nice bar, the hotel allows dogs in the rooms but not in the bar area, they had a separate piano room that they allowed the dog in so we had a drink and breakfast in there, we would of eaten there on both evenings if we could of gone into the bar area, but the piano room had no ambience whatsoever, in spite of this we had a lovely few days here

we have stayed at the Ramnee a number of times all be it pre covid this was a first time since 2023. The Ramnee is a beautiful building & very convenient for our holiday purpose

The property just need certain attention paying to the interior. It’s just beginning to look tired. Totally understand that everyone is finding this industry hard.

I loved the homely atmosphere of this beautiful boutique hotel. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was looked after. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Location was fabulous. Walking distance to town. I had breakfast included. The food including room service was excellent.

Our room was at the back of the hotel and gave views over to Findhorn, wonderful sun sets both nights. We ate in the restaurant the first night and had breakfast both mornings, food was good and tasty my wife said it was the best fish she has ever had.

the statay chicken starter is the only thing i could find problem with.

Breakfast included a good selection of warm food, but the cooking skills need to be improved.

Food was a bit disappointing. The selection of plates was though good. Fish was overcooked and not fresh fish from Scotland. The price and the quality of the steak did not meet, the steak was not eatable.

Good size room and it was quiet. The hotels history matched the paintings on display. Quality of food was good. Good situation with lots of interesting places nearby.

Service at breakfast was a little slow some mornings. Booked breakfast for 9am and it was 9.50am before we got it. Male server mixed meals up at our table and 2 other tables on the same day. Limited evening menu but food was good. The apple crumble at £7 per head was extortionate for the size considering apples came from the garden. Very little interaction from the pleasant staff - which would have made the ambience better and would be more welcoming. The hotel does not make good enough use of the rear walled garden which is a missed opportunity. The history of the hotel was in a small photo frame which was poor and should be enlarged and celebrated as there is no literature in the room - possibly due to Covid.
