The Bull Hotel; Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

The hotel was centrally located and the staff were very friendly and said hello when we passed on the stairs. It was good value for money and the hotel was clean. I would stay here again as long as I situated far away from the function room where the loud music originated.

Our room was located above the function room and had very loud d j playing music when we wanted to sleep. We called reception and they moved us to a quiter room which was good but it was a hassle packing up and moving at 10 p.m after a long journey there, we were tired. I think they could have offered a free bottle of wine or something to say sorry for the inconvenience. Breakfast was nice but they didnt have enough staff on and had to wait a while to be served. It's not the staff members fault. People were complaining. Employ more staff!

The room was very nice. The bedding is top quality, very soft and smooth. The bed was bigger than a regular double. We booked an evening meal for one day, there was a good choice of menu - although we were disappointed that there was no cheeseboard offered as dessert. The location of the hotel is excellent, one entrance to the shopping mall is directly opposite. The Cathedral is just a 10-minute walk and is a must to visit, it is beautiful. There are lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Breakfast was a bit hit-and-miss. Buffet-style, you could help yourself to cereals, yogurt, pastries, and fruit (although we found only apples in the fruit bowl, no bananas). The hot food was also buffet-style but served by staff. The sausages were good, the bacon was thick-cut and a bit on the leathery side. The "grilled" tomatoes were practically raw with a singed top. The second morning I asked for two boiled eggs with bread and butter, no toast. On arrival, they were served in small condiment dishes as apparently all the egg cups had been broken, and the yolks were hard. I wish I had asked for poached eggs instead.

Lovely room, good temperature, comfortable bed with a duvet that was not too hot. Table and chairs, good shower. Excellent evening meal on Sunday, arrived quickly, attentive waiter. Less than 10 minutes from the Cathedral where we were for the weekend. We felt at home immediately in the hotel. Nice lounge and bar areas. Staff cheerfully helpful. I would recommend it to anyone.

It didn't occur to us that there wouldn't be a lift. Obviously it is impossible to install in this building. If it had been mentioned, we 80 year-olds would have asked for ground or first floor. I didn't ask for assistance with bags when we arrived (so partly my fault), but nor did reception offer when they saw two old ladies heading for the second floor. Also some indecision about cost of breakfast. One day it was £10 each, the next day we were told it was £13. It has £13 on booking page.

I was afraid it would be noisy, but it was beautifully quiet and my room looked over just a car park and nowhere near the road, pubs etc. The bathroom was excellent (it's so lovely to have a proper full size bath) though it really should have a window in the bathroom which would make it even better. The breakfast was good: I had a kipper for breakfast which is a rare treat, and the juice was good, and ample coffee etc. I enjoyed the evening meal too.

Silly plastic pots of low fat yogurt that have probably never seen a live bio culture: that's like breakfast used to be in the last century! They need to update to real bio yogurt that you can spoon out from a large bowl. I'd have liked a proper folder of information in the room. I foolishly failed to see the wifi password on the back of the little slip of paper they gave me.

The room was plenty big enough for a solo traveller, having a comfortable bed, desk area and a separate small table and comfy chair. TV had a DVD facility as well. The climate control system was excellent and coped very well on the hottest weekend of the summer. The bathroom was well supplied with all the toiletries required, and was very clean. Housekeeping was daily and thorough. The breakfast was very filling, using quality ingredients. Being in the city centre meant it is easily accessible.

There was only one breakfast coffee available. Any potential visitors should be aware the hotel does not have lifts no grade 2 listed lift designs available!)

Bar staff where excellent, very friendly and helpful, Reception Staff could do with some "people skill" training :( Breakfasts were expensive & not necessary for our stay, local resturaunts where very good & the food we ate in the bar was very good!

Difficult to find the carpark entrance, & reception staff weren't particularly helpful (we almost seemed to be an inconvenience to them)! The room was a little cramped, but more than adequate for our needs, although the bed was too soft.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel while in Peterborough for a wedding. The hotel is in a great location for the shops and has free parking for its guests. The interior of the hotel is very grand, and the room we had was huge. The bed was really spacious, there was also a desk and a chair too. Everything was really clean and tidy, with a fridge and teas and coffees provided in the room. I asked for a dairy alternative to cows milk and was given a jug of oat milk to keep in the fridge. The rooms also had air con, which was an absolute blessing with the hot weather! Breakfast in the morning was so good, my husband had a full English and I chose to have the continental option. The staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel really welcome. Another hotel where I wanted to claim squatters rights and stay for longer!

Nice large room, plenty of storage, clean besides the bathroom.Essentials such as iron, kettle, safe, bathrobes, small shower gel and shampoo.nice clean hotel overall and can come and go as you please.Happy to allow us to leave our car in the carpark after checking out, so that we could do a bit of shopping.Fantastic location in the City Centre.loved the look of the hotel overall, old fashioned but classy

Room was located at the front of the hotel next to a busy road. combination of drunks, cars and a man loading cages of rubbish onto a lorry at 11.30pm kept us awake so we didn't sleep well.Windows are also not double glazing so do not help keep noise out.Room was also cold even with heater on.Was clean throughout except the bathroom, which had a large hair and what looked like a pubic hair on the side of the bath.Exteactor Fan in the bathroom was broken so tried to open a window to release the steam after a shower but the windows are very old and did not open properly- was also difficult to close as they jammed open. "King size bed was actually X2 single beds pushed together. No signage to locate difficult to find hotel carpark

Room was modern, spacious, comfortable and very clean. Contained all the facilities you would need for a short stay e.g ironing board and iron, mini fridge, hospitality tray and plenty of storage. Bed was extremely comfortable! Had a restful night sleep - no noise. Breakfast food was good - I must make a special mention of the poached eggs which were excellent and the sausage was very flavoursome. On site parking was a bonus and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Nothing really! The service at breakfast was a little chaotic and disorganised but the food made up for it

Staff were at all times very pleasant and helpful. The hotel has free parking in the centre of the City and is well located.

Room carpet could have been cleaner and none of the electrical sockets were working but I was moved to another very comfortable room and the staff were quick to resolve the problem Finding the car park was a bit difficult owing to the one way system and it may be helpful if guests were advised in advance of the route to the car park.
