The staff where very pleasant and accommodating, even though there was a wedding on nothing was to much trouble, Unfortunately at dinner I had the chicken fillet which was raw in the middle this was taken away very quickly and offer of anywhere one?which arrived cooked,on booking out we where told no extras to pay for ( Which we assumed was for the evening meal,) Later on that day my brother (who was traveling with us got a phone call to say he hadn't paid for meal,)the manager didn't no anything about the previous evenings events and my brother had to pay, don't think this is good practice as if I had been elderly or sight impaired the out come could if been very much different, Communication is the word here.

Staff Just need to communicate as the above could of been a lot different, and being told we don't have to pay any extras then a phone call saying we do,at the end of the day it was your fault, communication, communication,

The hotel was getting remodeled so our family room that we had booked was no longer available, the staff however went above and beyond and gave us two rooms for the same price. It did mean we were separated as a family. However my husband and son stayed in one room while my daughter and I stayed in another. On arriving on the Sunday we were informed of the carvery and we were so glad we decided to stay and eat at the hotel. The food was amazing and the price a bargain. The staff were attentive and polite. The breakfast in the morning was a full style buffet. The teenagers on staff were young but hard working and the lady in charge made sure they were all engaged in their work. Very nice to see a business taking on teenagers and giving them life skills. We were only using the hotel as we passed through the area but we have highly recommend it to friends as a stop over or to try the carvery.

The site was undergoing repair so first thing in the morning could be quite noisy. But it was after 7am. So not such a negative experience. With the building work ongoing the car park was smaller than normal and I struggled to park my van, again not such a large negative.

We wanted a convenient, dog-friendly and comfortable stop-over en route to Orkney - the hotel gave us all of that, with really friendly and efficient service too. Although all the pet-friendly rooms are on the ground floor, and our two rooms looked out across the car park to the small road and river, it was a super-peaceful night's rest for us all. We also ate at the restaurant and were more than happy with our meals and the service there too.

Not really a problem for us, but some dog-owners might be disappointed that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant area (but there's a separate area for breakfast-with-pets).

The hotel is in a good location being in the town but off the main street. The food was excellent in the restaurant and all the staff were very friendly.

Our room was on the ground floor facing the car park meaning that vehicles were able to park right outside our window. We found this a bit intrusive and we were obliged to keep the curtains closed a lot of the time. There were no blinds on the windows which would have helped make the room more private without having to close the curtains

Hotel was dog friendly, staff were all very friendly. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent plenty to choose from. Dinner menu was excellent and food great, staff couldn't do any more for you making sure we had everything we needed while eating in resident lounge as we had the dog with us and making sure we had water for the dog and treats.

Outside window needing cleaned, birds dirt on it that wasn't fresh dirt. Water pressure from shower very poor.

The restaurant was GREAT!!! Food was delicious. Plus you get a complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning. One of the best meals we had for dinner the entire two weeks we were in Scotland! Also, the Old Wick Castle is just a couple miles down the road, beautiful!!

The beds were a little hard and the pillows were VERY flat, but I found that in all four places we stayed in Scotland, so maybe it's just a Scotland thing. Also, the comforters are a little small on the twin beds.

Very clean hotel, the staff were very friendly and clearly work hard, especially in the morning with breakfast even when they had a large party of model enthusiasts to tend to. If you have a dog, the dog will be very well catered for. Excellent

I came home from seeing family in Wick quite late and night and I couldn’t get in for a while. The door was locked and my key didn’t open the door. I pressed the bell quite a lot and had to resort to calling the hotel to let me in. Sorted in the end though.

Location, parking, size of room, breakfast, clean, possible late check out, Wi-Fi is good enough,

Lack of electric sockets. 4 in total in the room for 4 people.... One of them used for TV. 2 of them behind the entry door.... So technically one to use for phones and laptops. Rooms equipment a bit dated (but does the job). Restaurant for dinners closes quite early 20:30hrs. Missing hear dryer in our room.

Reception was easy and very pleasant, the room was very good and comfortable. Food was excellent with a good variety of drinks available. Hotel decor was very good, and the staff were very pleasant, polite and accommodating. All in all a lovely experience.

There was very little not to like, except at some point water had flooded the bathroom and the floor tiles had risen with the damp, but this didn’t spoil the overall experience.
