An impressive well kept building. I stayed in the ground floor room which was the former bank and vault room. This is set up with all the facilities for the disabled.(not tested as I am able bodied). The hosts were very friendly and attentive. The building also serves as their home which gives it a nice overall feeling. I had a good quality sleep and awoke feeling refreshed. Breakfast I went for the full Scottish the items were quality and very well cooked. I couldn't quite manage to finish it all. There were other options available. There is free parking at the rear accessed via the side road

Nothing really. The village is a little remote but I expected that. No access directly from the car park unless you are disabled. If it had been raining this would have meant all my stuff getting wet as I walked around the side of the house.

Location was perfect and had free on-street parking immediately outside. Room that we were given was disability-friendly, which we didn't need but we were happy to see was available for someone who might. Very clean and nice. Helpful to have a little fridge in the room as well. Host was lovely and accommodated us after we called to let them know we were running late for check-in time. Breakfast was divine (what a wonderful Eggs Benedict!). We asked to meet their little dogs and got to have a few minutes with them, which was nice.

There isn't anything that was missing. We had a great stay.

What can we say? Honestly, it is one of the best places we've had the pleasure of staying in. Both Mark and Trish were amazing hosts and could not have made us feel more welcome. Mark, your laugh is infectious 😂. Lovely wee touches made it a home away from home. Fresh milk and biscuits in the fridge. The beautiful garden, which admittedly only glanced at because of the good Scottish weather. Delicious breakfast! And dog friendly too! Ollie slept like a baby all night! We both want to come back and we will be in the future. What more amazing value for money!

Absolutely nothing. But, sorry you had some not so pleasant guests whilst we were there!

Mark and Trish are very caring and evidently enjoy running their B&B. They were very accommodating of me cycling and provided safe storage for my bike. After my one night staying there, I cycled from there to John O'Groats and back towards Tongue - they kindly looked after my 2 heavy panniers whilst I did this. Very big, nicely furnished room. Best variety of breakfast options I've seen in North of Scotland.

No problems with this lovely B&B. For anyone travelling with limited transport options like me it does require a small bit of forward planning to ensure you organise dinner - the only pub in town was fully booked but fortunately the chip shop was open :)

Wow. What an outstanding stay. We could not recommend the bank house anymore! From the lovely warm homely feel of the home to the exceptional hosts, this is hands down the best b&b we have ever stayed in. This stay really made our trip. We feel so privileged to have been able to stay here and meet Mark and Trish, they made us feel so welcome, Trish made an excellent breakfast. They took the time to chat to us and give us some great advice on places to explore. We were blown away by their humbleness and we hope we get the opportunity to come and stay here again! We loved the room, from the cosy decor, the fresh milk and chocolate bars in the fridge, the lovely deep bath the list goes on! It was so clean and fresh smelling. Thank you so much and for accommodating our pup too! 🐶 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Nothing! That we didn’t book longer!

We had a lovely stay at the Bank House Bed and Breakfast. Everything was exceptionally clean and tidy. Our room had a very large bathroom with bathtub (barrier-free) and plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed with heating blanket. There‘s private parking behind the house. Tourist attractions (Dunnet Head, Castle of May, …) in short driving distance. The full Scottish Breakfast was excellent! There are also several alternative options (including vegetarian). We highly recommend staying at the Bank House and would love to come back anytime.

We arrived at almost the northernmost point of the island on our road trip through the UK. We were lucky enough to find incredible hospitality and warmth. The breakfast was super delicious. In fact, the best English breakfast we've had so far. By a long way. Our heartfelt thanks to Trish and Mark for their heart-warming hospitality. Keep up the good work. All our love Katrin and Peter

The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was large and delicious. We had vegetarian bacon, sausage, ham, along with scrambled eggs to our liking (we like dry eggs). But above all, Trish and Mark are very fine hosts. Mark gave us great ideas of things to go see, and both are great conversationalists. We will return to them if good fortune finds us in the Thurso area again.
