Penally Abbey Country House Hotel and Restaurant

The location was a little bit tricky to access but this wasn’t a problem for our 4X4. Breakfast had plenty of choices but a shame to be charged for a cappuccino when filter coffee was included anyway.

We booked for an evening meal in the restaurant but were seated in the sun lounge not the restaurant. This in itself wasn’t a problem but I think we were forgotten about a little bit. No wine order was taken. We ate our food ( which was delicious!) but then looked at our empty plates for a good half hour. No desert order was taken and we left the table with everything still on the table as no one came back. This is only a small thing and not a reflection of the quality of food which was amazing.

We stayed at Penally Abbey to celebrate my birthday just before Christmas and it could not have been more perfect. We were welcomed so warmly and the staff were so friendly and accommodating throughout. They made such an effort with lots of lovely treats which made my birthday even more special - they really did go above and beyond! We stayed in one of the coach houses with a beautiful view out to sea. The room was luxurious and comfortable - as was the rest of the house. Delicious food, delightful cocktails and wine, in a simply stunning place. Could not recommend it highly enough! Thank you, Penally - we’ll be back soon

Excellent choice for breakfast,promptly served at our table.The evening dinner was beautiful.Lovely relaxed ambience in the dining room and drawing room.Great choice of wines and beers.Room was clean and spacious with large comfortable bed.

Television a bit too small for the size of room.Balcony outside was not really private for the room.Bathroom was a bit cold.Lighting to the steps of the annexe was a bit poor at night.Could do with a fridge in the room.

Everything. The staff were always on hand and very helpful from the minute we arrived. The decor was absolutely stunning. It was very quiet even though other guests were staying it was as though no one else was around. A perfect getaway

Lovely elegant but cosy hotel . Made us very welcome from the start . Comfortable beds for a good nights sleep . Lovely food . Would love to go back .

Magical night away. The staff were lovely, had exceptional service. Definitely come back with family members. Such a shame the Abbey will be closed over Christmas it would have been an amazing Christmas setting

Could only get a 6.15pm dinner booking. Otherwise nothing to dislike

This is a gorgeous small hotel, very comfortable and friendly and the surroundings in and out are wonderful. We stayed in Room 3 which was spacious, cosy and beautifully furnished. This is not a bargain location but a real treat.
