Parking can be very tight, particularly if you arrive in good time (before 6:30pm) - I suspect the carpark is used by people NOT staying at the hotel, during the working day/early evening, Coffee and biscuits had not been replaced from previous guest :( (Plenty of tea/milk). Two single beds pushed together IS NOT a double. The ridge down the centre is basically a no go zone (comfort wise), so you're basically restricted to one half of the resultant 'double', which in my opinion means you're in a single bed.

Good choice for vegans and vegetarians for breakfast and by the look of the menu for other meals, though we didn't have chance to eat in. Big bedroom and bathroom but cozy, with a lovely bed. really lovely staff for check-in, breakfast, and in the bar. Fab lively bar, used by locals, and we met some really nice people. Great location, a short walk from lots of food and drink options. Easy to get to our work location by car/taxi. We will book again for next year and I am sure use other Greene King hotels when we have the option.

Need more clothes storage in the rooms, just one small wardrobe and some tiny drawers in the double room, we were stere for 3 nights there was plenty of room for an extra wardrobe and chest of drawers plus coat hooks in the little entrance area would be useful. Quite a lot of noise from the road but that stops at night, it's an old building in a bustling little town so that was expected.

Lovely big room, clean and bright. Street view as requested. Food very nice and good value.

The only thing which was disappointing was when we booked dinner for the second night we were told to go for no later than seven to guarantee we wouldn't have a long wait due to a function. We did this and still waited too long for attention. We then waited half an hour for the main course. Then were told there would be a further half an hour to wait if we wanted a dessert. This ruined our evening which was supposed to be as special and important to us as the noisy function . Staff apologetic, clearly not their fault.

The bedroom was a good size and somewhat quirky in that the floor was very uneven, it really emphasized the fact that we were in an historic property! It somehow made it more fun. There was a nice big bathroom and once we figured out how to turn on the towel rail heater, nice and warm. Dinner in the restaurant was very good and made all the more enjoyable by the young man who found us a table on a very busy Friday night and served us. I wish I had found out his name, he deserves to be commended.

Check-in was a bit strange, we had to wait for someone to show up. There was no-one there when we left either.

Breakfast service very quick and food tasty and hot. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easy to have other meals here too - good value pub grub. Service a bit slower for this, but it was a hot and sunny weekend and staff were stretched with indoor and outdoor tables.

Unfortunately they are not able to install air conditioning due to it being a listed building, but our room was just bearable on the hotter day with an open window and a fan (look in wardrobe!).

Lovely room, nice hotel and friendly, helpful staff.

It was an incredibly hot week. The temperature was around 30°C. For that reason we chose to eat breakfast outdoors on Sunday morning. The tables were dirty from the previous Saturday evening, as in sticky from spilled drinks, scattered with food crumbs, dirty ash trays, etc. This spoiled what was otherwise a lovely breakfast, served by a warm and friendly waitress.

The Saracens Head Hotel in Towcester offers an exceptional experience. With its great location, delicious food, and excellent service, it provides great value for money. I highly recommend it for a memorable stay.

There was a bit of confusion when we sat down for breakfast, as we were told to sit on the wrong table at first, but no problem, we quickly moved to the correct table and the service was great thereafter.

On two of the hottest days of the century, we were comfortable and slept well. Obviously, with a property of this character in the UK you don't expect aircon but the fan provided was greatly appreciated - not sure if this was standard for the room or specifically provided in response to the weather.

Clearly popular as a pub with non-residents and given the weather, perhaps not surprising that a degree of "over-refreshment" was apparent. Nothing too bad but a couple of quiet management interventions were required.

Quirky old fashioned hotel located on Watling Street. Comfortable room with traditional furniture. Great to use as a base to explore Towcester. We enjoyed an evening out exploring the many busy places to eat and drink along the High Street. There is a reasonable size car park at the back of the hotel. The hotel bar was pleasantly busy although the staff weren't sure about what time food would be served until (or what time they may close). We had a lovely night away and would definitely use this hotel again.

Bit of confusion when checking in, we were told the room included breakfast (assumed it was the Genius 3 reward) however in the morning we were told it wasn't included and the person checking us in was wrong.

Large well equipped room. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom had been refurbished. There was a good selection of teas and coffe in the room. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good with a varied menu and served until 11am. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We didn't think the breakfast drinks were good. The coffee was much too strong and the tea wasn't hot.
