Campanile Hotel Northampton

A great hotel and comfortable room in a great location for a course across the road in the morning. A great continental breakfast as don't tend to go full the full cooked breakfast but room quiet and comfortable. Lovely hot shower too.

The only down side was a couple of very loud drunk and violent contractors whom were involved with kicking a hotel door from its frame and causing a bit of a kerfuffle. I became involved to help the police in detaining one of the men and then followed a nice peaceful and quiet evening. Wasn't expected but at least it was sorted.

We liked everything about the hotel apart from two disruptions. The food is delicious. We were down for the F1 in silverstone.

The air con emitted an alarm noise and it was switched off and I was given a fan. This was on the first day. The second night the fire alarm went off in my room, whilst I was asleep. I enquired the following day and was told a guest had been smoking. I suggested that the smoke alarm should be targeted in the culprits room instead of waking up everyone. Apparently, that is not possible.

A very spacious room, more generous than many rivals. Even the shower was an ample size. Staff at Reception very pleasant and helpful. Excellent location, so close to the M1, but not suffering from traffic noise. Large bed; my app said it was the best night's sleep I'd ever had while wearing the device.

Basically, the only criticism I can offer is that the temperature of the water in the shower was extremely variable, changing from pleasant to cold to almost scalding without me touching the controls. Maybe many others were showering at the same time as I did, affecting the water supply, but it was such a rollercoaster that I didn't risk the shower on my second morning, preferring to wait until I got back home.

The staff were polite and friendly. The room was very spacious, tidy and clean. The complimentary tea and coffee selection was reasonable. The car parking spaces are very generous - there was no concern I'd be fighting for a space when I checked in. I remember the plugs on the walls smartly located i.e. quite close to the bed, unlike some hotel rooms where they are far away to keep the costs down. The area is extremely quiet during the day and at night. The hotel has a well stocked vending machine for snacks as well as travel essentials.

The air conditioning was probably my biggest criticism as you couldn't set it to a particularly low temperature. The hotel has its own restaurant but if the menu isn't to your liking, you will have to travel a fair distance or order food delivery. Likewise the hotel's remoteness from shops and other local amenities may be problematic for longer staying customers if they don't have their own transport.

Excellent position and easy to find - in house restaurant and a Harvester - literally a few steps across the road. Rooms are of a modern design - comfortable bed - desk to work should you need and spacious bathroom with a walk in shower.

The only thing I would say I could criticise is the strip lights that are supposedly the night lights each side of the bed - way too powerful - possibly put in some lower wattage ones - I want to read my book not be blinded by the light reflecting off my page.

Good price and service meant good value overall

First room the thermostat was broken so we had to sleep with the aircon on all night. Moved to a different room for the second night. Car security an issue, one fellow hotel user has had his vehicle broken into for the second time. If you park against the grassed area then vehicles are out of view of CCTV. The hotel only employs a security guard two days a week.

The property is in a great location, and rooms are excellent value for money. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, and staff are happy to serve you when required. The breakfast seemed like value for money, although we did not have time to eat here. The hotel offers essential items that you are able to purchase during your stay, we took advantage of this and we’re happy with the prices charged for the items. Overall a really nice stay and would be happy to return.

After stripping the linen from the bed we found a stain on the duvet itself.

The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. Kettle and tea and coffee provided. Tv and free Wi-Fi. Good cooked breakfast. Nice big white towels. Nice clean smell in corridors. I am sensitive to soap powders and thankfully did not react to bed linen.

The plug got stuck in the sink and we couldn’t get it out. We didn’t complain because it was late so we just made do. It wasn’t a big issue and would not stop us from staying here again.

Very comfortable nights stay and very efficient service. I was a late arrival and was concerned that there might be a problem with my room, but the hotel confirmed my room at the late arrival (after midnight) allocated me a room and it was all ready for me when I arrived. The staff I meet were friendly and efficient - I wanted to get to my bed! They sorted the key card and sent me off quickly. Room was clean, bed was comfy and the facilities were exactly what I needed for a quick overnight stop.

I didn't stay very long so nothing during my visit

The hotel was very clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The smell walking through the corridors was amazing!! The room was a good size and the facilities available were up to requirements. We didn't have any food but did have a drink at the bar and prices were good and a nice way to finish off the evening bef

The outside door was shut at 11 pm which made us feel a little restricted and that we had to be back in your room by then (appreciate that reception staff would have let us in). It just seemed a little early.
