The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and the beach. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable.

I was a little worried about the train noise- they go by often and blow their horns- but with the provided white noise machine, I wasn’t bothered at all.

I loved Surfhouse and will stay again. The rooms are clean and well laid out with a beautiful bathroom, simple desk and everything I needed for a four night stay. Two outdoor areas for hanging out with friends worked for an outdoor office for me. Location is the best in Encinitas.

Convenient walking distance to coffee shops for brunch and shopping. It is just a few blocks away from Beacon’s. The beds were the best I’ve slept in away from home. And lastly the shower amazing, I took long ones every day!

Amazing hotel and great vibe. Only a few minutes walking from the beach, and close to many great places for eating, coffee and more. Self check-in was super easy. Surfboards and bikes available. Nikki is super nice, available, and has great tips for going out and surfing.

Difficult to find something wrong with the hotel! Everything is great. Lightsleepers might find the hotel a bit noisy at night, due to the proximity of the railroad. But not a big deal, really.

the complete contactless thing is kind of odd but they are very responsive to inquiries and needs.

Very cute surf-themed decor, plenty of space with dinette set and decent-sized kitchenette. Definitely a good idea if you’re planning an extended stay in the area.

It’s right off of the Pacific Coast Highway and the railroad. I’m normally a pretty sound sleeper but got woken up several times through the night by the train horn as there’s a major crossing nearby. Also, there’s no staff at the property, you’re just given an entry code. However, they were easy to reach by phone with questions.

I like the concept, check in ..keeping all simple..easy. The location is prime, right smack in the middle of everything . Tons of good places to eat and easy beach access. Room was clean and updated, the bike cruisers are great quality and a wonderful perk to use while touring around. The shower was large and nice.

Many ppl complain about the nose of the train across the street but the biggest issue with noise is that there doesn’t seem to be any soundproofing. Stay on a top floor if possible to avoid Hearing foot traffic. I stayed in the room for 4 with 2 sets of bunks(pipes 4). It is strictly a sleeping only room, small. One small mirror made it hard for one person to use the sink /mirror and no option for another person to get ready(as the mirror was small and above the one sink). Tuff room for four. So if you are looking for a place to sleep only and get out and about then come back just to sleep..then it’s cute, fine and clean..it’s not a room to lounge in at all. Short stays only would be best. Maybe a couple with 2 tiny kids but it’s not a room for four bigger ppl.

Needs to specify more clearly when booking that there is no front desk. Didn't realize code was emailed to me to get into room.

The room was cute and comfortable. The beds were cozy. The location was excellent for surfing. The staff was friendly. There were great restaurants (with many vegan options) within walking distance. We really loved the coffee shop next door which had great coffee and yummy pastries.

No complaints.
