Glendale Express Hotel Los Angeles

Absolutely perfect place to stay by car and explore the whole county. Worry free, parking spacious, great residential neighborhood, no homeless people. After 15hours of travel, went to sleep and woke up at 4am to eat in closest McD :) nice area for first time in the US. Very friendly staff, rooms quiet, with a decent space, balcony, armchair and proper table. I liked tiny CVS store, the washing/drying room so I could move one with the US trip with fresh clothes. Access to Strip, Santa Monica and all spots - ideal. Great north areas (going to Santa Monica through Topanga - super cool). BTW general idea - if you are by car - turn off motorways then everything is much nicer around and with not much traffic.

The location is only based on your need, it is more than great for me as I need to be near Pasadena and the mountains, and the people are friendly. Very spacious and excellent room, with a balcony. The entrance of the hotel is cosy. Free and big car parking on both sides of the hotel. ( note secure) you need to make sure you don’t leave any valuables in the car and lock it. There are great shopping area 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes if you’re driving. Feels like a family friendly hotel.

When I travel I like watching the local news channel of the city I’m in, they either don’t have that and using paid streaming system, or I didn’t know how to run it.

This hotel has a lot of character. It has a very vintage feel to it. I love all of the vintage decorations and memorabilia! The Pop Tarts and coffee for breakfast went along very well with the character of the hotel, which is mid to later 20th century. The location to Universal Studios Hollywood was very good! The free parking was appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.

Because the hotel is older, some of the furniture and furnishings are worn. This goes with the vintage feel, and did not really bother me. The breakfast could have included more variety and some protein, but the Pop Tarts were brilliant as part of the hotel's vintage style.

Location, location, location! Close to restaurants, within walking distance of the hotel and also within a 2-5 min drive! Shopping very close as well. Easy freeway access! Also, loved there are ICE machines on each floor! Plus on-site free parking was much appreciated. The front desk staff was so great, hospitable and accommodating! Kudo's to Alex and Bonny!! Also, the cleaning staff on floors 3 and 6 were AWESOME!!! Our rooms were always super clean and they always lined up our shoes so they could vacuum better and just everything was clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows are very comfortable as well!

The fact that there was "instant coffee" only in the rooms, not real coffee any where in the hotel....and only one microwave and it was in the lobby so to heat something up you had to leave your room and go downstairs. Not real bad, we all adapted!

On site free parking. Friendly staff. Clean room. Great price if booked in advance and during the week. Easy to locate and conveniently located from many tourist locations. Need key access to enter the building or for staff to buzz you in. Onsite beverage and snack bar available for purchase. I rented the 1 queen bed - the room was a good size. Comfortable bed and pillows.

Cheap patch work on bathroom ceiling. Maybe from water damage. Difficult to watch TV. You need to scan QR code and connect your own device. Not user friendly.

The room was very spacious and the bed very comfy. Nice seating area and fridge. There is also a nice blend of retro-chic about the place of 70’s hollywood. Lots of parking, a pool (which sadly we were too busy to use) and perfect location for visiting hollywood attractions and an hour to disneyland

It would have been nice to have a bit more of a selection of breakfast than just pop tarts- though fun, it would have been easy enough to have toast or selection of cereal boxes. The retro-chic works mostly throughout but the bathrooms feel dated and harsh flickering fluorescent lighting is unpleasant. Whilst perhaps cost effective for running of hotel, the chromecast only tv meant we couldn’t just flick on the tv and watch things.

Everything, close to highway access, restaurants all around , shopping within 5 min drive! Clean room! Great staff, both front desk and house keeping staff! Love the retro feel of the hotel and was a great stay!

Hmmmm...only that the only things not in the room were a microwave (it was in the lobby) and no ironing board, had to get that at the front desk, and the TV in the room you had to use your own home info, so we found out we didn't need a TV for the time we were in the room!

Parking is ample. Hotel is also conveniently loacted just off the freeway so you don't have to contend with LA traffic until hyou are ready to brave it. It also meant that youa re well positioned for the zoo and/or the observatory if you only have a short time to be in LA. our room looked over a school which was lovely and also very quiet so we could open the window and enjoy the bonus balcony. TEA AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES. I was shocked on our road trip how few places had this, but this was one of the exceptions and thank goodness! It makes such a differece to be able to make your own warm drinks. Fridge also present in the room as well as air con. Staff were all very friendly. Excellent dinner suggestion (THANK YOU!) as well as general help and local info.

Actually nothing. LA in general is pricey, this place then is good value, well located if you are passing through or want to access north LA, and actually very comfortable to stay in.

Excellent location, great neighborhood with lots restaurants and walking street nearby! Two malls nearby. 15 mins to Hollywood and Universal studios and Warner brothers studios. The nighttime Staff guy was super friendly and helpful! Hotel has pool and hot tub and rooms have balconies. Room was very big. Plenty free parking spots.

No breakfast, which would be nice. Bathroom kinda outdated.

We seemed to be in the newer section but sadly we had a lousy view. Staring at a wall. The staff there are awesome and they honoured our cancellation and it was so greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend staying there. It has a cool vibe in the lobby but for me it is the STAFF that make it what it is. thank you to the front dest guys

The lack of view from my window and it would be nice to have it a bit more updated overall
