UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge

This is one of the most beautiful and family-friendly resorts in Lake Arrowhead. The cabin was comfortable and clean. The food is excellent! The staff provided excellent service from the time of our arrival to our departure. The entire property is gorgeous, beautifully maintained, awesome swimming pool; outdoor recreation is fantastic, and plenty of walking and hiking paths. Thank you to the entire staff, especially the dining room staff, and employees, for making our stay so nice.

The desk staff was exemplary. I had to call about noisy neighbors at 10:45pm on Wed. night and they sent security to speak with the guests. Security actually followed through and we were able to get a good nights rest. We had the accessible room for my mom. It was great, especially that there was a handicapped parking space right next to the room! We will stay there again, soon, I hope. Beautiful grounds, lush grass (which they let you walk & run on!), lovely pools, an ample fitness center with top-rated equipment like Precor ellipticals (my fav) and Peloton bikes, dumbbells/strength-training, outdoor activities (basketball, tennis, one-hole golf), and GORGEOUS views and trails. So much to love about this place. The photos on all the walls show historic times when the property was first established. The lobby is wooden and rustic yet classy. I'm glad there was no tv in our room-- it forced us to talk to each other or be silent or even read! Other rooms might have tvs but we didn't hear any. At night in mid-April, we heard hundreds of frogs croaking nearby! Truly peaceful and magical place. It's a little more expensive than other places, but well worth it.

No microwave available for the room. Inconvenient to walk to the hotel lobby for microwave.

The entire property is just beautiful. You never want to leave. It's nestled among the trees and across from the lake. It's close to where our family lives so easy access for them to visit us. You can hike or just play games on the patio overlooking the beautiful grass area or play corn hole or tennis.

Not a thing. How can you find anything wrong when the staff makes sure everything is well taken care of.

Very quiet and peaceful location. Perhaps it's due to current circumstances or it's the offseason, but we barely saw anyone else, which was really nice, especially if you're looking for a quiet time away. The grounds were also really nice and spacious. We got a room which was fortunately very accessible, so we did not have to pull our luggage far (But some of the rooms might require some uphill walking which may be an issue for those less mobile).

The restaurant was not available while we were there, but the Village isn't too far away (about 10 mins drive), so it wasn't a big issue.

The amenities are amazing and the staff were very nice. The kids loved playing, swimming, and hiking. The zen deck had an amazing view and atmosphere. We also enjoyed the drinks available in the lobby. We made smores at the fire pit.

The restaurant food was okay but the service was very slow. The servings were huge. The salad and dessert were amazing. We had issues with charges from the restaurant too but they are fixing that. The rooms do not have mini fridges or microwaves. This makes it difficult as we constantly have to get ice from the lobby for our cooler.

beyond expectations. beautiful property. unlike anything we have stayed so far in United States. And we have travelled all over the west coast. Staff is so kind and considerate.

if only they could have microwaves in the chalets. families with kids do need them.

Great location & amazing food. We visited during COVID times and when it snowed, so couldn't take a full advantage of the facilities. Food was excellent, but for take-out only. Resort fees are excessive, particularly during COVID and off-season: all the facilities were closed. Would consider coming back in summer.

1. Resort fees. We had no access to any of the resort facilities during our stay. 2. The second floor beds in the chalet were very small - not Twin as stated, more like toddler beds. Nt sure why they have to be so small - there is enough space to fit regular twin or even one full and one twin beds in there. Would not recommend for adults.

Gorgeous location, right by the lake, with beautiful scenery and plenty of nature around. The food offered at the hotel was A+, gourmet quality, which was a positive surprise. They offered complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and even fruit cups / fruit juice for the kids throughout the day. Guest lodge is classy and historical, built in the 1920's and full of history. Fantastic atmosphere.

Wi-Fi was not working or too weak in our room. We had to use our phone hotspot connection to connect other devices. No minifridge either, which was a challenge considering we had medication to keep cool. No TV in the room, which was not a negative for us but something to be aware of if you're expecting to binge watch on a big screen.

Upon check in, I requested that we be assigned to a chalet that would be easier to get to since a member of our family had difficulty in walking. The front desk person readily moved things around and granted my request.

It would have been nice if there was a refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker in the room. Now that UCLA has opened their conference center to the public, and a lot of families come, these amenities would definitely be highly convenient.

Having a way to get our bags to the rooms it was difficult without a wagon and if someone was disabled at all it would be nearly impossible. I would recommend using electric carts for the staff to transport guest to lodging.
