Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa

The rooms were very nice, and the property was beautiful and close to many restaurants.

The parking was limited even though we had to pay for it.

Casa Munras is an ideal place to walk to the downtown area, Cannery Row, and the Monterey Conference Center. If you want to see the aquarium, I'd recommend taking the bus which is nearby, otherwise taking a car would mean more parking fees. The room has WiFi, plenty of outlets to plug in all your electronics, a Keurig machine with pods, Stash tea bags, a safe, two towel hooks (unheard of) and a mini fridge. As for the other amenities, there are bike rentals (1/2 day $30, full day $40), pool, spa, and restaurant --all of which I did not try. As for the staff, all the people I talked to were helpful and pleasant.

The first thing you have to know is there is no elevator for all the outer rooms; thus, you must shlep all your luggage up the stairs. The second thing you need to know is parking is $17 per night. And, it's true, the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbor.

Great location, close to lots of excellent restaurants and things to do. Walking distance to the Pier.

Our room didn’t have super close parking, there is a $15 parking fee.

I absolutely love the bed, the pillows, and the location. I have stayed here many times over the years and these are what bring me back. I also love the Spanish style and that each room has its own entrance, so you can often park literally in front of your doorstep. Staff is very friendly, property is kept in great shape. Beautiful hotel in a prime and very walkable area.

The internet/wifi speed can be very slow at times, I think it is beyond time for an upgrade. Paying for parking is weak - their rooms are already being sold at a premium. The walls are absolutely paper thin - I hear everyone's conversations, even when they're speaking at a reasonable volume. The price of this hotel is getting out of hand. When I called to ask about price matching Booking.com's rates, I was met with some serious attitude and the person I spoke with did not seem like she was actually at the property itself.

Lovely facilities, lobby is beautiful, well maintained. Our room, a single King was a little musty when we arrived, but cleared immediately with the AC turned on. Not to be unexpected in a much older faculty and we did check in early (thank you so much for making that happen) and sure they would have turned on AC to take care of the issue before under normal circumstances. Quiet and charming, wish the mattress was a little more comfy but that's a personal thing. Would and plan to go back again staff all very friendly and helpful. Love the old world Spanish charm of our room and quiet, peaceful surroundings

Bed not the most comfy, but that's a personal thing. Also was surprised that a king room was quite so compact. Still a lovely room however

Very comfortable beds. Room was a good size, with clean and modern bathroom. I decided to pay a bit more and stay here rather than the motels up the road, and I'm glad I did, it definitely felt like a nice establishment. Very well looked after in terms of landscaping, planting etc. Parking was plentiful and we were always able to get a spot near our room.

No lift up to the second floor so had to lift our cases up stairs - but this is minor and we were given the option of a ground floor room to avoid this. It's cheeky to charge an additional $19 for parking at a motel-style inn, when it's already expensive compared to nearby options, but they are upfront about this.

Very friendly staff. Although not a huge room for 4, (deluxe queen. 2 adults 2 teens) it was comfortable with lots of charging points and just enough room for all our cases. Great beds. Very clean. Top floor, so quiet. The tapas restaurant was excellent, the pool area a bonus, always parking spaces and located across road from 2 breakfast eateries and an easy, safe 5 min walk to downtown. Would return.

It would be better to include breakfast at the rate we paid which was the highest of our whole Californian trip especially once all the local taxes are added!

Love the grounds. Very nicely kept and rooms are very nice. Traditional king rooms are a bit small for the amount being paid and the area but overall nice.

Waitress at Esteban restaurant needs better customer service. Ordered happy hour in plenty of time to be entered and she still charged us full price for items ordered even earlier. Then made it seem like it was our fault. Tried to adjust somehow and still did not come out right. Would’ve been a better experience if she would’ve known how to handle the issue better.
