Villa Franca Inn

During our recent trip to Monterey, we were so impressed by this place that we couldn't resist staying here again on our way back. Our room featured a delightful fireplace that cast a warm and inviting glow, creating the perfect cozy atmosphere. The cleanliness and thoughtful arrangement of amenities in the room truly stood out. The beds were a haven of comfort, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The overall ambiance of the room was tastefully understated, free from any excessive showiness. Whether we wanted to enjoy the coastal beauty or delve into local attractions, everything was within a comfortable reach. From start to finish, our stay here was an absolute pleasure. We left feeling refreshed, grateful for the wonderful memories made during our time in Monterey. P.S. Try Alvarado Brewery and their chicken wings.

For a 2 star motel this is very good. The rooms are clean and seem to have reasonable sound proofing. However, we were on the top floor and noticed that the floor boards creaked, so those in the rooms below may have been able to hear us walking around.

No air conditioning. A fan is supplied, but the room was still too warm at night. Some traffic noise. Had to pay a very high rate for a 2 star motel because it was labor weekend.

I loved the cleanliness of the room and the facility. The man at check in was very nice and extremely helpful. I like that the room had a fireplace. Bed was very comfortable. Room had a small refrigerator. Nice size room and updated, Very close to Carmel. I liked the price of the room.

The fire place didn't work, only the pilot light was on. The man on duty tried to get it to work but couldn't get it started and he spent time trying to get it to work. I'm from Miami so liked the idea. It is on corner on busy street. We had the windows open and you could hear the traffic at times. The rooms do not have air conditioning and that may be a problem for some but it was cool out and fine for us without a/c. I only gave lower rating because of the fireplace and noise but maybe if windows closed you might not be able to hear the noise.

The entire process was so smooth, from booking online, the check in and the check out. The staff was incredibly friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything necessary for a long or short stay. I rate places by their bathroom. If the bathroom isn't maintained then I don't trust that much care has gone into anything else. Their bathroom was clean and up to my semi "germaphobic standards." The location was great and within walking distance to various restaurants and just a 30 minute walk to the aquarium.

I gave the place a rating of 9 out of 10 only because the fireplace wasn't working. But it very well could have been something I didn't do right. I also didn't ask the staff for help because it wasn't something I needed at the time. I'm sure it was an easy fix if I had cared enough to bother with it.

The room was clean and the finishes were nice. The hotel is certainly an older building, like nearly all in Monterey, but it has been well maintained. The beds were comfortable. The linens were quite nice.

There is no air conditioning and it was pretty hot in our room. The road outside is fairly busy, so it was too loud to leave the window open. The people in the room above us were quite loud at times and there is little to no acoustic insulation in the ceiling.

The property was in a great location, close to many restaurants and the freeway. The rooms were clean and didn’t smell funny. Quick drive to Carmel, Cannery Row and the Wharf.

It’s a bit noisy from the traffic. I would definitely recommend bringing a sound machine to drown out the noise. The facility should definitely consider a slight upgrade to the complimentary bar soap. Grateful they provided something but it wasn’t good. The room was spacious but would’ve loved a slightly softer bed. It’s not the most comfortable.

Location, room, bathroom with the fireplace and the price exceptional fantastic and it's closer to the restaurants, park, downtown and Del Monte shopping mall area (walking distance or less than 10min. drive) It's quiet and clean! Away from the crowded area this is local quiet area to get away and relaxing moment!!! "Mathew" front desk friendly and helpful! Your awesome and the Villa Franca Inn********* above 5 stars! I even have extra twin bed inside my room beside the fireplace-:) AWESOME!

Coffee, tea stuffs and Ironing board/Iron you need to ask at the front desk! Other than that I will enjoy coming back

Room was clean. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Relatively quiet most of the time. Convenient parking. Bonus - The Wild Plum Bakery was a 2 minute walk away, Great breakfasts and lunch. We ate there every morning. There's also a Thai restaurant, as well as a Pizza Place and a Chinese restaurant nearby.

Its at an intersection so there was occasionally some traffic noise.

The staff were very friendly for check in and check out. The motel was in a great location with free parking, and the room was nice and spacious with a comfortable bed! Overall a good stay, but felt a little overpriced - although that seems to be the going rate in the area.

The place felt a little tired and could do with an update, but it was still a comfortable place to spend the night.

Room was nice and big. We will ask for this room again. It had everything we needed and the fan was running when we came into the room. Loved our room. We liked the TV. We loved it being on the end and quiet. Liked the view too. Loved the toiletries especially the makeup remover cloths since I forgot mine. The room size was really important for us because we had to bring our bikes up.

The curtain rod for the sheers on the left side of the room was broken and the curtain was on the floor. We tried to fix it but it needed a new spring in the rod.
