Marriott's Shadow Ridge II - The Enclaves

beautiful location and great size room

Front Desk supervisor couldn’t find our reservation and could have approached the situation more professionally and friendly. She seemed bothered by having to help us. Following morning, Front desk and concierge called at two different occasions in the am trying to promote their special while we were still in bed.

We had a two bedroom villa and it was beautiful. Very clean, spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable beds. Also the pool, gardens etc at the Resort are really nice.

The person at the front desk was not very professional. We asked if there is any possibility for a later check out and got a one-sentence reply that this is not possible. That was it. No trying to accommodate our needs, e.g. no mentioning an option of, e.g., paying for a later check-out. The tone was pretty rude. The next day, when we had to check-out at 10am, before 9pm we were called via phone to make sure that we really check-out at 10. This did not make us feel very welcome - not what one would expect of a Marriott Resort. (Another, small, issue - neither the body wash nor the shampoo in the showers were filled - this was annoying as I found it out when already showering)

We loved the facilities. The pool and snack bar was fantastic and so was the fitness center. The room was updated and sparkling clean, though small.

The hotel was outrageously expensive as the Cochella concert was happening. Dynamic pricing made it three times more expensive. I know this as the price dropped dramatically on our last night. We had no choice of dates as we were there for an unrelated family event. I have never spent so much on a hotel before and never plan to again. The room was good but too small for the price and needed a patio or balcony.

Arriving at this hotel after a two week adventure through California was a beautiful gift. The resort is like an oasis in the desert. Our rooms were beautiful. We had laundry, kitchen amenities, patio, and ample space for our family of 6 to relax and enjoy. Upon arrival, the kids were excited to explore the multiple pools. We walked to the pool within our area where we enjoyed night swimming while watching the latest Spider Man movie. The hotel is more resort than hotel.

The hotel is located about an hour from Joshua Tree NP so just be ready for a drive if you are there to go to the national park.

I like the pools and the various activities. it’s family oriented. our room was spacious.

I think the prices for the food is a bit high for the quality. There are a lot of unhealthy options on the menus too. it would be nice to have more health options. The fold out couch/bed was very firm and the mattress pad was all shredded and very used! There was only an old blanket and a sheet to make the bed with . It would be nice to have had a comforter, too! my kids couldn’t sleep well so the next night we all crammed into my bed!

Our building was located far the pool with slides for children. Late check in and very early check out at 10.0 am. There is no way to buy breakfast, you have to leave the hotel to find it. The air conditioner is terribly noisy and blows cold all night right on the bed.

Location to the pool was great!

The room was a handicap room and very small. The bathtub did not drain properly and the spigot for the water in the bathtub was not installed correctly. It stuck way out of the wall and the hole in the tile was open to water to allow to get into the drywall.

We had a wonderful time from the check in to check out. Friendly staff, extremely clean facilities both our room and overall property. The whole hotel is such a nice place, and the location is also great with a lot of options in terms of stores and services. The hotel is wonderful for kids, just unfortunately a very cool slide they have was not open but this was properly communicated before our arrival.

The pool can get crowded during weekends and some people will just eat and drink around it leaving some trash and leftovers. They just might need some staff to go around it time to time to ensure it is clean and safe.

Lots of room-we had the 2 bedrooms Vila with kitchen. We love it! Two bathroom two king size and 2 sofa beds! Was perfect for our family of 6.

Elevators were further out so we had to take stairs (we were on the 3rd floor and it was 114 degrees that weekend)

many different pools, spas and activities. Nice to look out into the golf course.

Too few ice machines, no ice trays in the room, front door was too heavy to open and close.
