Mahala

I loved how new and updated the property is. the little touches felt extremely intentional and added to the experience of being a unique boutique hotel. the rooms were spacious and loved that the water was hot and didn’t run out. lots of towels as well!! the fire pit in the courtyard were nice, and even the pool is a bit warmed so you’re not dipping into a complete ice bath - but my personal favorite was the jacuzzi. the staff especially were fantastic and helpful for everything! the property is on the Main Street of Palm Springs, but at the end so it’s not too noisy or lots of foot traffic but only a 20 min walk to the best restaurants and bars

my only critique is that I wish there was a full length mirror in the room, but they are still a new property so hopefully they add one in. but even if they don’t, I am already looking forward to my next stay here!

This is a seriously stylish venue. Every component in the rooms has been chosen with care. The bed is super comfy with lovely soft pillows, the bathroom area is well thought out with the toilet separate and private. The complementary drinks and snacks were very welcome and ideal for enjoying around the pool area. It does get quite windy in Palm Springs but the pool is shielded quite well. The super warm hot tub is also worth a mention. The garden area has been designed to be extremely peaceful and showcases beautiful desert planting. The fire pit in the centre of the garden ensures that this area can be enjoyed after sunset. The hotel is also completely secure with a keypad entry system from the car park. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who emphasized his desire to create a calm oasis and in my opinion he has certainly succeeded.

Air con / heating system seemed a little noisy.

We came in for a 2 night getaway to Palm Springs to celebrate our birthdays and anniversary. Upon check-in, we experienced a slight hiccup with our reservation - our booking reservation never went through in the system so to our surprise, we were not on the guest list for the weekend. Luckily, Robert and Corrine(?) acted quickly and helped clarify what occurred. Mahala and the hotel group’s properties were fully booked this weekend but Robert proposed we stay in a room that the Owner was still working on completing during this soft launch period - we agreed and did not mind. Shortly after, the owner, Dave, came to greet us, apologetic for the snafu and offered us a gift certificate to Billy Reeds across the street. While waiting for the room to be ready, we were able to grab a bite at a locals spot and even relaxed in the pool. The entire Mahala team was very patient and generous with us despite the check-in confusion. During the first day, we enjoyed the amenities and location was perfect for everything we wanted to see and do in town. On our second night, we came back to the room with everything cleaned and received a birthday cake and kind note from Robert and the team! Such a lovely touch and nice surprise. Our stay at Mahala was truly unique in that we were treated with utmost care and generosity. As a top tier member of major hotel chains (e.g. Marriott), this experience at Mahala by far exceed my expectations for a boutique hotel. I am extremely happy with our choice to stay at the Mahala property and thank them for truly being customer-first. Not only was the hotel beautifully designed, it was comfortable, great location, amenities (heated pool and hot tub, fire pit, lots of outdoor seating for relaxation, free snacks and coffee in room, and more) and again, exceptional customer service. We will be back again soon!

Nothing worth noting

Robert was communicative, friendly, and amazingly accommodating. Mahala is fresh, new, and oh so clean. Attention was put into all details and it shows. The room interior was as nicely remodeled as the common areas and exterior. Super cute pool and fire pit area. Fresh water and ice, snacks - you name it. We felt very secure and safe. There is an upside to being slightly out of town - SO QUIET! THANK YOU Mahala and Robert, see you again soon!

Hmmm, its hard to find something I didn't like. The coffee maker had some issues and might need some "hand-holding" instructions. We have the same issue with our home Keurigs so not a huge surprise but a little frustrating. The location is a littler farther from downtown Palm Springs than I would prefer BUT not too far to walk if you are a walker like me. There is an upside to being slightly out of town - SO QUIET!

Beautifully designed and laid out around a private center courtyard. Though located on the main road into the center of Palm Springs, it was very quiet and we had a good night's sleep. The bed, linens, etc., were very comfortable. The Manager was pleasant and helpful which we appreciated.

We stayed there during their soft opening so they are taking all suggestions into consideration. We suggested a luggage rack, black wash cloths and a lighted magnifying mirror. Hopefully they'll consider adding these. Otherwise, they got everything else right and we enjoyed our short stay.

Mahala was a beautiful place! The room was clean, comfortable and decorated so nice! The grounds were like an oasis in the desert. Temps the days we were there were over 114 degrees! The AC in the room worked perfectly. The little retro styled refrigerator in our room allowed us to keep our water and drinks cold. The snacks, coffee and water provided in the room was such a nice touch. We definitely recommend this wonderful place when in Palm Springs.

It’s adults only, it was well decorated, clean and modern. Loved complimentary snacks and beverages as well.

Very minor but wasn’t crazy about the floral tree near the pool. Though pretty the petal’s flying all over on you, into the pool or into your drink got kind of annoying. Also, the flooring in my room was kind of rough or abrasive. Style wise it looks great but does feel great to walk barefoot.

Very nice contemporary modern design and great location that’s not too far from restaurants. They even offer great complimentary snacks and drinks in every room. One of the newest boutique hotels to open in Palm Springs and the design was great and plenty of seating and gathering areas.

AC took a little figuring out and hot water needed to run for a lil while but was great once it was going. There’s several different streaming services but no general TV options.

This spot was wonderful. It was their soft opening, so the property was immaculate with impeccable design and touches. The staff felt like true hosts, like staying at a friend’s house. They went out of their way for us. The location was perfect…great coffee, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. Couldn’t have asked for more.

No negatives at all. I’d only not recommend if you’re looking for a party hotel. This is a chill-out spot.

The hotel is super cute, they did a great job making this property updated and photogenic. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable, love the decorations and mini fridge. Lovely pool and hot tub. We loved the snacks and drinks in the rooms as well. On site parking was available and free!

Everything was great! Parking was included and on site, not a huge lot but large enough!
