Holiday Inn Express Redwood City Central, an IHG Hotel

From beginning to end, I only had good experiences. Starting with friendly staff at the reception. The room wowed me as it was quite big, the bed was very comfortable and the heating/cooling system was easy to control and worked well. Overall, the hotel had a modern feel, from the design aspect, to small details like USB chargers, TV inputs built into the wall, automatic night light in the bathroom, etc. Breakfast was always fresh and plentiful, with hot meals, pastry, fruits, coffee and juices, cereal and more (of course it can't compare to a buffet in a 5-star resort, but given the expectations, it was decent for this hotel category). Everything was clean, the bathroom was restocked and towels changed daily and the bath was comfortable and easy to operate. Location of the hotel was good, easy to access by car from the Route 101 and also by local buses, as the stops are within a minute of walking. Overall, I was absolutely satisfied with this place.

The cinnamon rolls were excellent and the choices were very good. We loved the T.V. and the comfort of the bed. Also, the mini appliances were good quality. The room was very nice and comfortable except for the AC.

The Air Conditioner was not very efficient We kept having to turn it up and down because we would either be too cold or too hot. It never stayed on one set temperature. This could actually be a deal breaker for me because I have a medical condition that causes me to be intolerant to heat.

Front staff both on checking in and checking out were extremely friendly. The breakfast was great. They put cookies out in the evening. Bed was comfortable and room was large. Parking was free underground. There's a great German Hofbrau right across the street. Also a Wendy's and Starbucks.

We were traveling from San Francisco. Our GPS must have had us on all the back roads. Took a long time to reach the hotel from our turnoff to Redwood City. In the morning it was more of a straight shot to the freeway going back to Clovis (Fresno).

It was clean, room layout was just right, beds were comfortable and rooms were cleaned well.

Breakfast was okay. Would have wanted pancakes but it was out of order. I understood that they will only serve until 10:00AM. But it was strange that they even cut-off the drinking water machine at exactly 10:00AM. I was already done eating but just wanted to drink one final glass of water before leaving. The lady stood there ready to clear everything up while a man stood at the exit area as he cordoned off the dining place. It was strange. Parking was tight but I expected this from the reviews.

the updates to the hotel were wonderful. the bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms were well appointed. the front desk staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful.

the refrigerator in the room did not work and was missing the knob to adjust temp. it took a little detective work to figure out the TV. you had to press the power button on the satellite receiver to activate. the remote did not do this. breakfast service - seemed as if the staff running wanted you out ASAP. the first day of our stay I returned to the breakfast area and was told it was closed - at 9:50a. the signage all indicates 10a as the end of breakfast service. don’t be rude to the guests and provide the service advertised.

Super comfortable bed, sheets and pillows; easy to add an extra night at the front desk and at the same low rate I received for the first night from an online booking site; terrific hot breakfast (most hotels are still serving cold, cheap packaged stuff because of Covid restrictions); and, really good value for the Palo Alto area!!

The location could have been better since it felt a bit "dicey" when arriving later at night. In the morning, however, it looked better! Just expected the location to be nicer since the town is so close to Palo Alto. But its location is probably what keeps the room rate lower than expected for the area!

The location was close to our scheduled appointment.

Had 2 large bangs outside of hotel around 5 to 8 minutes between the bangs. Sounded like M80s. Sounded like it was right outside our building. Very unnerving.

The breakfast was really delicious and the attendant staff members were very helpful. We so enjoyed our stay there, even took advantage of the fitness room. Asked for/received cot for additional visitor -which was provided. Had booking issue -one of our party's reservations (no fault of the Hotel's), which was quickly resolved by Anna(?) at Front Desk. Overall excellent customer service. Will stay there again when am next in the area.

We enjoyed the cleanliness and the quite room. The staff was kind and always willing to help with anything.

We feel like there could of been more of a variety on breakfast, something different each day perhaps. With that being said, breakfast was delicious still. I also thought there was a pool but I guess I misread that when first booking. Either way we would definitely return and stay again.

The bed, pillows, function and cleanliness of the room were excellent. Thank you for the pull out desk and all the ways to plug in electronics. Remote black-out shades were a great sound and light barrier making sleeping late pretty easy.

Parking spaces were very tight but at least there were spaces available at any hour and no charge for parking. Lobby leaves a lot to be desired (mostly non-existent) but I like paying less for not having wasted space just to walk through. Breakfast was predictable and served in a tight space. I only went 1 morning out of the 4 I stayed. But I don’t book hotels based on having breakfast as it’s rarely good food.
