Hilton San Diego/Del Mar

I like the room it is very clean. A clean room is one of the most important criteria for a hotel. I was worried about the dust on the ground if I walk in room without any shoes or slipper, they will stick on my feet. But I didn't feel it, that's the part I love. The room I booked is for two people, but I travel alone so it was very comfy for me.

There's nothing I don't like about it. The hotel meets its star rating.

Not only was this was walking distance to the Del Mar Fairgrounds, it was close to anything you can think of to do nearby. Coastal Kitchen had great food and cocktails, the coffee bar in the morning served decent coffee and tasty quick-breakfast options, and everyone was just so friendly and helpful. I was bummed we only booked a one night stay! Will definitely be returning again.

the room was very pleasant and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. I loved the outdoor seating and the pool area. It was really nice to sit outside in the evenings or in the mornings. It is a very nice atmosphere with close proximity to the del mar dog beach (perfect for the pups).

the $23 charge for parking per day is really unfortunate. There are a lot of hotels in the area that do not charge for parking. That is a little extreme. Our phone was not working in our room. When we brought that to the front desks attention they argued and said there was another phone in the room...There was not. I asked if someone could come look at it, they never came. I went down to the desk halfway through our stay (we were there for 7 days) and asked for fresh linens and towels. They never came and that never happened for the remaining 3 days. The food at the restaurant was pretty decent and generally reasonably priced (excluding the beers)...$7 for a pacifico is a little ridiculous.

The room was spacious and clean. It was on the ground floor and had a nice patio with seating looking out at the courtyard and pool. The room was in close proximity to self parking.

The towels were not the best quality. I also purchased a room which included breakfast and the receptionist who checked us in did not provide the voucher we needed for our breakfast.

We enjoyed the backyard eating area. It was comfortable and had "very good" food and drinks. The waiter we had was exceptional. The selection of channels on the television was excellent. The room was large and decorated nicely.

When we arrived we were told where to enter the hotel after parking (with our baggage) to get to the elevator. However, there were 10 steps outside the building necessary to climb to get to the first floor. I am 80 years old and I had to carry two heavy suitcases up those stairs. A fall could have been a disaster! They should have told us to unload at the front door and go through the lobby to the elevators.

From being greeted at check in by friendly knowledgeable staff, to the Amazing food at the Coastal grill on property I had the best Van Gogh weekend. I felt like I was the only person on the property and had a relaxing swim and soak in the jacuzzi all by myself...it was Amazing thank you!

Alot of the local restaurants were closed early ( before 8) on a Saturday. The onsite property restaurant Coastal grill was so wonderful..it's a COVID world nowadays but they did a great job with skeleton staff..

water was cold.(could not get a warm shower) ... the mattress was not comfortable (not firm/ very soft) ...coffee maker was not available.... front desk would not answer phone at 8 pm when i could not find the coffee maker.

LOVED: The Lobby! arrived and meet the artist, Heather. She was Supper sweet and BEAUTIFUL artwork!! Checking in was GREAT! (side note; they let me store a bday cake n flowers in a fridge while I toured around the town, AFTER I had checked out!!) Pool was great for a morning swim Bar was GREAT for "re-gaming AND breakfast coffee/food ALL STAFF was AMAZING!! REALLY liked how EVERYONE was friendly, from the house keeps to the concierge (didn't catch her name but VERY friendly!! I wish I new about this hotel 10 yrs ago!!

The rooms were comfortable as was the bed. I loved the easy access to the pool. It was quiet even with a hotel full of soccer players.

Of course I understand about COVID but I really miss continental breakfasts. But it was concerning that the gate to the back gate would not latch. And why is there no fan in the bathroom!!?!?!!!

The location is very convenient if you have a car, and the bed is very comfy.

The furniture and the carpets are REALLY worn out, and you don't expect that in a $300/night hotel. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel this worn out in the US.
