Motel is in a relatively safe part of town and parking is available. The rooms were a bit dated, but everything was clean and the beds were comfortable.

A 150 USD deposit (the highest deposit I've ever been charged in the US) is pre-authorized on your card when you check-in. When you check-out, they do not cancel the pre-authorization, but just assume it will expire on its own. My bank cancels pending pre-authorizations from hotels after one month, so it took A MONTH from my stay to get my money back. Every other hotel/motel in the US I've stayed in was capable of refunding deposits in a timely manner.

The room was large and everything clean and comfortable. The area around the hotel was specific touristic in a good way, coffee bars, restaurants or shops with healthy food to go. The Golden Gate Bridge is directly close to the hotel. Also Sauselito is a bus ride away. The hotel offers coffee every day for free in the rooms. Shower cream, conditioner and Creme is also available. I extended my stay for additional nights.

I loved the location. You don't need a car to go around and explore so many restaurants, bakeries, and entertainment. I love the fact that Presidio Park is few steps away. It's so beautiful. The Palace of the Fine Arts, Crissy Fields are also very close. There's city bikes and scooters around for a more fun way to explore. Staff was super kind and make it so easy to get our room an hour earlier the check-in time. That meant a lot since we were super tired from flying 6 hrs to SFO. The room was very clean. They cleaned our room everyday, the sheets and towels were clean and smell fresh all the time. No bad smells at all in our room. I felt very safe in that neighborhood. You could barely see a homeless in the area but nothing to feel worried about like in Union Square which looked like a horror movie. We can't ask for more for the price. Every big hotel was offering us a single bed for the three of us but here we had two queen size beds in a big room.

The only bad thing is that you could hear all the noises from the room above and next door. It is as if the structure of the hotel had no division. if someone knocked on the next door it was heard exactly the same in ours and in the room above you could hear very strong footsteps. The good thing is that at dawn nothing was heard and we were able to sleep well.

Location was great with a few brunch stops a couple blocks away. Rooms were recently refurbished and they are generally clean and ac/heater made it a comfortable stay! Staff were friendly and helpful and able to facilitate early check in and baggage storage. Drop off point is convenient too. Coffee machine with coffee, shampoo and soap were provided.

Rooms are not that soundproof. TV does not link up to the Internet so I don't think you can access Netflix. Tvs also do not have their own Bluetooth names, so you might get rando connections from other rooms. Though there are many TV channels to switch around, so you will not go unentertained.

Facility is well kept, clean, and accessible. FREE parking is a PLUS. Rooms were clean and comfortable, looked remodeled. What I thought was neat was the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the shower. Don't expect high-end brands or some fruity smells. They are unscented but serve their purpose. It is on a main and busy street (so expect a bit of noise if you're facing the street) but it is a good area. Lots of people walking by to restaurants and bars nearby, which was nice. I realized how awesome the location of the hotel was when I started looking for places to visit (after booking) and noticed how close everything was!! (Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Viewpoints, Fishermen's Wharf/Pier 39, Pier 33 (Alcatraz tours), Lombard curving Street, Powell/Mason Cable Car tour turn around, The Painted Ladies, AND if you didn't know, the house from the movie Mrs. Doubtfire). ALL within LESS than 10 minutes from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit again, and I highly recommend it.

Beds and pillows were a bit uncomfortable. Hard bed and flat pillows my opinion. Neighbors upstairs sounded like horses, and the edges of the curtain ends don't touch the walls, so if you're passing by, you can see in a little.

Love that there's no carpet and they mop the floors so no need to wear your shoes the entire stay if you're reluctant of walking on a dirty floor. Very spacious room and high ceilings made it feel like a bedroom and not a hotel. Heater was very efficient. Additionally the cleaning staff was nice enough to retape our birthday decorations that had fallen down while we were out, we were amazed to see decorations up and appreciated them going above and beyond to keep our time there special with those touches and attention to detail. Hotel is located in a very great location walking distance to Chestnut and all it's restaurants as well as the Starbucks in beautiful presidio and the Muni stops at the corner for the golden gate bridge.

Some cons, although none of which were a big deal to us but should be noted to help others was... we came at the end of November with weather being in the 50's so heater was used around the clock and while asleep the down side of this was it was very loud and would wake us up every time it cycled on at night. One night stand light didn't work and there wasn't a do not disturb sign in our room. This hotel is located on a very busy street and you can hear traffic all day and night.

Upon arriving I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who kindly went through the process of checking me in and made friendly conversation as well as informing me about San Francisco. The room was small, as advertised, but large enough to have a comfortable area for my partner and I and our dog. Everything worked great, the beds were new and there was house keeping that did a great job cleaning up.

I did not enjoy how little parking they had (2 small lots) in comparison to the amount of rooms they have. In San Francisco you want somewhere safe to park where you can see your car.

The La Luna Inn in San Francisco is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with easy access to the city's main attractions. The hotel's location is perfect, with its proximity to the Golden Gate Bridge making it an ideal base for exploring the city.

There are, however, a few minor drawbacks to staying at the La Luna Inn. The noise level can be a bit high, especially if you're sensitive to sound. Additionally, limited parking can be a hassle, but this is a common issue in San Francisco. Lastly, there's no microwave in the rooms, which might be a slight inconvenience for some travellers.

We were so happy with our Stay at La Luna! We stayed here before and this time was so much better. With all the renovations and the staff, it will be the only hotel we stay at when visiting San Francisco👍🏼😁

The only thing that was disappointing was the window didn’t open because when it was installed they didn’t put a certain latch on the window. The hotel offered me another room and an upgrade, which I declined as I was leaving the next morning after we realize the issue, but this wasn’t what I would call a negative!
