I've stayed at several motels in the Lombard St./Marina/Union Street area, and Seaside Inn is (now) my #1 choice! Very good value for money spent. Nice, comfortable room with fast wifi. Good food options nearby (go to Ly's across the street for great Vietnamese food) and a Safeway supermarket is a few blocks away. This location is perfect for walks to Pacific Heights, the Golden Gate Bridge/Fort Point, Fisherman's Wharf, the crooked part of Lombard Street, and North Beach/Coit Tower. The manager/owner of the Seaside is kind and I appreciate that she does not allow any bad behavior/excess noise/trouble from guests. Looking forward to staying here again!

I’ve stayed at a number of Marina/Cow Hollow motels recently, and Seaside Inn is my favorite of the bunch. It’s no-frills, for sure, but they’ve been thoughtful about comfort with what they’ve got. The cleanliness is immaculate, the linens are nice, the carpet is clean—and yes, I want cozy, sound-dampening carpet flooring and not cheap laminate that other motels have been opting for. Fridge and microwave are in good condition, and the toiletries are nicer than most motels. The wi-fi is reliable, reasonably fast, and—if you’re a Roku user—doesn’t require a web portal. In fact, I got more done working in my room than at the office! Check-in is quick and no-nonsense, and the keycards are more robust than most other places.

Small things: the staircase to the second floor is a bit steep and narrow—be careful with any heavy luggage. Also, the “double” room is very quaint, but be aware the door doesn’t open completely before it hits the refrigerator cabinet. And a real niche thing: the accessible room’s bathroom is like a neat locker: freezing and has a door that insists on shutting behind you. Spooky.

We'd just been travelling in a campervan for 6 weeks so this hotel was exactly what we needed. It was a small room but absolutely perfect for us and what we needed. Walking distance to Palace of Fine Arts, Fishermans Wharf, and the famous part of Lombard Street (all about 20 minutes). Super clean and cosy. We arrived hours early and wanted to leave hours late - the lady at check-in very kindly let us leave our bags so that we could make the most of our time.

The only downside was that we were in the room directly above reception (201). Every time the reception door closed, the noise was very loud in our room. Also the street traffic was quite loud in this room. We're deep sleepers so it was fine, and I think any other room would be sheltered from the noise. Dont let this put you off though - everything else about the stay was perfect.

the location was great, I had originally considered more central, more typical San Francisco street type location but Seaside Motel was walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz departure pier, Lombard Street (which it is on), Palace of Arts and the water. Also not far from nice cute streets with coffee shops (Peets) and great bagel shop (Noah's). Friendly staff who welcomed us when we arrived late after flight delays.

I did not originally realise it is a motel type arrangement and quite close to a busy road and quite small, so not a great deal of scope to be placed away from it. But I asked for rooms away from the road, and that was accommodated and we had no problems with road noise. It just doesn't look like a "typical San Francisco street". But this is compensated for by its location.

Very well located - Marina District and Lombard Street are very easy to travel to and from and walking distance to some spots you may want to visit so the property is good value in that sense. Don’t expect anything fancy or up market - for us this ticked all the boxes we needed - good location - good sized room with a comfy sofa and tea/coffee making facilities - the most comfortable bed ever and a hot shower! it’s a bit worn out in parts - chips here and there on the furniture etc but all the important stuff is all there for a few days exploring the city and we would probably use it again. Also very effective heater/air con in room which soon made the room warm and cosy in November. Ideally located for a good choice of eating places in the evening that you could walk to (Chestnut Street) and feel very safe.

We arrived after a long day of travelling and were checked in by a very miserable and grumpy woman which wasn’t a great start! In the dark our room initially appeared a bit sad and tatty but soon proved to be cosy and adequate for us. Other cleaning staff we met were lovely and on their day off we were contacted to see if there was anything we needed as our room wouldn’t be cleaned that day so we were unlucky at the start!

I booked the Seaside Inn for 4 nights based on the reviews it had received and its reasonable price (for San Francisco). I wasn't disappointed. We were given a friendly welcome when we arrived. Our room, 205, was exactly like the pictures. The bed was huge and super comfortable. It was lovely having a fridge as well as a microwave. The shower was strong and there were nice toiletries. After a day sightseeing in the rain, upon our return we needed a blast of heat and we quickly warmed up. WiFi was fine too. The location was great for the #28 bus which could take you to the Golden Gate Bridge or in the opposite direction, to the piers and ferry trips. We downloaded the Muni app to buy day passes for the busses and trolleys and that worked really well for us. There is also a Safeway supermarket and a launderette nearby. Finally and really importantly, I felt safe at the Seaside Inn, it was particularly well lit. We would happily return if we ever found ourselves back in San Francisco. Top tip, have a look at GoCity if you think you're going to do a few touristy things, it saved us quite a few $

We did hear a bit of noise from the neighbours and traffic but neither of these were that bad. We would have preferred real cups rather than disposable paper ones.

I almost cancelled this hotel a few different times before my trip, just because I don't like doors being accessed from the outside but I'm glad I didn't! This was one of the cheapest hotels I found. They allowed us to check in at 12 since our room was ready which was so appreciated. Everything was clean! Road noise wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The bus stop is right next to the hotel too. The bed was SO comfortable, very soft. Cable TV, fridge, microwave, decent coffee in the room.. I have no complaints and would recommend this place/stay here again if we are back in the area.

- Fantastic location, Right on the 101 by the Marina district which is perfect for really lovely bars / wine bars & eateries - Excellent value for money - Comfortable bed, soft bed linen, plenty of towels. - Great facilities with the use of an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, microwave & fridge all in the bedroom. Might I add the iron was really good too, a lot we have used while being in the states in hotels have been dreadful. - Good sized room, spacious shower - Free parking - Super clean - Really friendly staff both when we checked in & when we checked out - Would absolutely stay again the next time we visit San Fran thanks so much !

Book it! There's a reason why this motel has high reviews.great price for what you get. Has everything I was looking for. Very clean property, microwave and refrigerator, ice machine , comfortable bed, awesome shower flow, LG tv , A/C if you need it and safe location. Didn't see any homeless in the area like you would if you stayed at fisherman's wharf location, which is 30 minute walk or $12 Uber ride away. You also have free parking and 2 gas stations just around the corner. Laundry facility is also a couple minutes walk around the corner. Noise not that bad compare to homeless and people noise you'll hear at a hotel at fisherman's wharf. I definitely recommend this motel

Everything was great 👍
