Surf Motel

Great value for the money, the rooms were clean, the fridge and microwave were appreciated and the staff were all friendly. The location is amazing, just a 10 min walk to the ocean with a view of alcatraz and the golden gate bridge, lots of restaurants and bars in the area and the hotel is always easy to find and the free parking is a huge plus in San Francisco! We would happily stay here again!

There are plenty of restaurants around this location. I love the parking spaces (although not guaranteed). The staff was very friendly. New cameras around the premises.

It's San Francisco, so don't expect quiet anywhere in the city. The towels they provide are very thin and small and you do have to track someone down for clean towels in exchange for dirty ones. The rooms are a little outdated and need some work; one had a broken shower curtin and no working vent or screen on the window. One room had a very old refrigerator and a flickering bathroom light, and our 3rd room smelled like jalapeños? But if you're going to be out most of the day, this place is great to sleep and door dash some treats. We took some lysol and clorox wipes for our own peace of mind :)

The rooms are spacious and clean. A big plus for the bed which was very comfy. Also, the parking lot was included.

This is a great motel for the money! The room is comfortable, it has everything we needed. Its best asset is its location. Many sights are within walking distance, we were even able to walk from it to the Golden Gate Bridge! One of the big advantages is if you pay with a credit card, but do not take a deposit for a room. When you have limited finances, this is very important. When we moved out, we were allowed to leave our luggage and we could still walk around the city lightly. Thanks!

There was someone else's hair in the bath. We recommend motel cleaning to clean the rooms.

The appliances worked, free parking (first come first serve), parking til 2 on the day of checkout, showers were amazing. Staff were very helpful in allowing me to extend my stay. Fantastic location and a great price.

Our door was paper thin and you could so clearly hear all the road raging rush hour traffic. But everything else was great, highly recco.

The location is perfect! Right on Lombard and Pierce. There's a ton of restaurants open late around there, as well as coffee shops and 2 walgreens within walking distance. My room was huge! I picked a smoking room, so yah, there's the faint smell of cigarette, but it's not bad at all. The bathroom was also huge, with a nice sized tub. I had a microwave and fridge which were honestly amazing. I felt safe in this location and the staff was really good at providing towels and other supplies without me even having to ask. I spent 6 nights here, so I would recommend it for both short term and longer term stays.

This is the 2nd time weve stayed at this hotel. The price and location is perfect! The room is also very clean with the exception of the bedding. The bedding both times has had burn holes all throughout and we always get a non smoking room, so just make sure bring your own sheets and blankets! Other than that we will continue to book here when were in San Fran!

Staff polite and helpful. Staff available overnight. Excellent location. Marina District, Chestnut Street pleasant and attractive. Suggest choosing room away from road for max. quietness. Good price. Good room.

V slightly edgy. On one occasion someone hanging about who looked homeless, but could have been resident. Elevator not working. Room maintained fully just during weekends. Bathroom vent fan sucked in cigarette smoke, but not needed. But will come again !

The lady at the front desk during her shift should be a little bit more accommodating in dealing with issues at this facility, not in rush mood or more of willing to help mood. I understand she’s busy but pls make sure you’re in the right attitude when serving with customers, right?

Perfect location, very friendly and helpful staff

We had two rooms here, the first was clean and nice, the second was disappointing.. missing the deadbolt, missing light bulbs, missing the towel hanger and generally less clean than the first room (it was a smoking king room). The walls were paper thin and you heard every strange thing going on in other rooms at all hours of the night.
