Bluelake Inn @ Heavenly Village

Very friendly staff. Super close to Heavenly gondola. Free parking was very convenient. Comfy beds. Great price.

Heater was very noisy, but seems like that is standard in USA motel rooms ;-) The free breakfast is very basic, but welcome before a day of skiing.

The following drawbacks from our stay: - rooms are a bit rundown - carpet is cake in dirt and dingy - beds were uncomfortable to sleep in, either slumped down in the middle or uneven

Fantastic location for the center of South Lake Tahoe activities. The room was exceptionally clean and the space was sufficient. We passed on the breakfast hour as we left for early activities each am so I cant comment on that.

This may seem petty but if the motel keeps the following in mind it will make them perfect for the value option they offer. Clean the ice off the parking lot and walkways to parking- it was a hazard and one elderly person needed assistance parking due to slipping on ice. Remove large desk/table and replace with love seat. There all ready is a small round table with chairs, so no need to have desk. Fix TV channel guide- impossible to locate channels without scrolling through all channels.

Nice breakfast facilities and food. Walking distance to casinos and restaurants as well as ski lifts. All of the employees were friendly and helpful.

Coffee pot wasn't great and poor quality Coffee used. Pool was closed for repair and apparently for awhile.

I enjoyed the cleanliness of the room. To be quite honest, I wasn't expecting it to be that clean. The water in the shower ran hot and the water pressure was perfect. The free breakfast each morning was also a treat and honestly one of the main reasons my significant other and I booked this place over others or an AirBnB. The front desk staff were also super friendly and let us check in an hour earlier because the room was already ready.

The mattress was not the most comfortable and neither were the pillows. Parking wasn't terrible and was offered onsite but I was afraid there would not be enough parking spaces if I had come late in the night (luckily that issue did not present itself). The pool and jacuzzi area were also under construction as a sign had said and I was somewhat looking forward to that after a day in the snow.

Great location. They gave us $5 vouchers to use to get into the beach ($15 without), but we ended up not going and giving them back.

Beds could be upgraded.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Bluelake! I had low expectations after reading some of the reviews but I was trying to pick a middle of the road option and being careful with my budget. My room was very comfortable, I enjoyed the bagels, tea, oranges and orange juice for breakfast, and its VERY conveniently located to the gondola and a beautiful beach. I would definitely stay here again.

The shower head was too low for tall people and I had to crouch a bit to wash my hair.

The location was great to access the Heavenly gondola. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the manager Randall. The room didn't smell of heavy fragrance (I am sensitive to most detergent and cleaning product fragrances, and air fresheners) like most hotels do so that made me very happy. It was quiet on the second floor.

The heater cycles on and off frequently because as soon as the air at the heater/ac unit warms up it shuts off and just as quickly comes on again. So with that and the fridge it is good to have ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The bathroom was a bit cold as the only source of heat is the AC/Heater near the room's outside door.
