Desolation Hotel

my family and I loved the facility, everything is brand new, well thought out build all around, you can smell the fresh of new materials, well kept and had everything you could ask for. the staff is very helpful and friendly, heated pool was a plus with the fire pits around made it very relaxing. will be returning for sure ! highly recommend staying at Desolation hotel.

This is our first trip to Lake Tahoe. Our family spent 3 wonderful nights in this hotel. The hotel equipment is very new, very delicate, and very high-quality, but there is a problem that the hotel has too few parking spaces. And the surrounding area is surrounded by hotels, so that we have to park the car on the side of the road, because it is the first time to go to lake tahoe, all the public parks are full and closed, we can't participate in some local play projects and enjoy the beautiful scenery, we recommend the hotel The staff can make some travel suggestions for tourists to optimize their itinerary and get a better experience.

- Bethany at the front desk. So sweet and helpful. Made us feel so welcome. Also helped my husband set up suprise room decorations for my birthday - Decor and upgrade of the rooms. It was top notch!!! We didn't even want to leave the room -Tub on the balcony.. I enjoyed it so much and it retained heat - the place was so clean -complimentary Beach tickets - complimentary birthday champagne - complimentary laundry room - noise level... I could hardly hear anything my whole time there -center..close by everything - complimentary bikes The bed and sheets was AMAZING... felt like I was wrapped in a cloud If I ever come back to lake tahoe I wouldn't even look anywhere else

Loved the stay, staff was always incredibly helpful and friendly. The staff knew it was my birthday, and they surprised me with a complimentary bottle of chardonnay and the cutest handmade card. Accommodations were fabulous. The beds very comfortable. Loved having a full size kitchen. Pool was lovely, and beach passes were great. I would definitely recommend the property. The townhouse room was very clean and very nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and serve meals.

One of the toilets was not flushing properly, and the AC units tended to get a of condensation and would drip onto the floor.

I loved everything about the property! so high tech and had a cozy feeling. the staff was absolutely amazing! from beginning to end.

We had my husband’s birthday dinner at Maggie’s! The service was flawless! Such a comfortable, cozy, friendly place!

Beautiful room - very well appointed, great looking furniture, super comfy bed, heated floors in the bathroom, very clean. Great outdoor pool area. The staff was very friendly, they offered us complimentary wine and water upon arrival, showed us around the room and common areas, offered to help with luggage, etc. Nice (although extremely slow) restaurant in the hotel.

We had a first (ground) floor room with a beautiful soaking tub in the balcony - however, at street level, it was very exposed and we didn't feel comfortable using it. The water pressure in the shower head was very weak. And lastly, we could hear people walking in the room above us during the night.

The rooms were very comfortable and just right to accommodate our family. The pool and hottub were a real treat and we especially appreciated the heated pool with the snow outside. Every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful. Our two dogs were made very welcome and that was much appreciated. Dinner in the on site restaurant was delicious!

It is a nice touch that every parking spot has a free charging station. Unfortunately, non of them were working during our stay.

this is a very well thought out hotel. From the heated bathroom floors, to the kitchenette amenities, to the wireless charging ports (for iPhone and Apple Watch), to the Alexa enabled speaker, and much much more. We loved this hotel and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We especially loved the whole vibe and aesthetic of the hotel which was perfect mix of modern, luxe, zen, and cozy. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we plan on staying here again.

Room is very spacious and feels like brand new with some high quality kitchen appliances. Love the design and deco. Lots of Tesla EV chargers available for guests.

Found some dog hairs on the area rug, probably from the previous guest. Was told the rooms at the first floor are usually pet friendly. If you are allergy to animal hairs, better request for the upper floor unit. The whole place is still very clean.
