Lake Ridge South Lake Tahoe

The rooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. The place had recently been renovated, and it was like new again.

The advertisement online that caught our eye so we chose this place said it came with free private beach access, but when we arrived, a note on the door of the front office read, “no free private lake beach access.” We had been victims of false advertising. We were not happy about that.

This is an updated older motel. This means they got their pick of location! It's nicely far from the main drag [so quiet] but right near Stateline and other things--and near the Lake! Gotta say, the beach nearby is $25, so I didn't go [plenty of free beaches a short drive away]. The room was quiet, clean, and had an updated bathroom and bed. Great value. Regarding lighting, when you turn the light on at the door, the whole room lights up with a central fixture [unlike some other hotels that rely on feeble lamps spaced around the room for that "perpetual twilight" feel where you can't see to read].

It would be really great if the owners negotiated a reduced fee for the beach nearby. That way, we could actually use the beach. It really does little good to have a beach that's close but $25 per person. But again, this problem was easily solved by seeking out one of several free beaches.

The room was super spacious, and very clean, bathroom facilities were well sanitized. There were no carpets in the room, which was a wonderful surprise, since carpets usually tend to be dirty and smelly at old hotels/motels. The room was renovated, and the staff was very helpful. To our request to turn on the heater, they came immediately to help. We had a positive experience there!

Just one thing that I wanted to mention: During the check out we left 15 minutes later. The staff entered the room twice during that time. The first time sharp at 11 am (checkout time), the second time 10 minutes later-to remind us. We just thought that 15-20 minutes can be considered grace period, and that they didn’t have to enter our room at that time.

King sized med-firm bed was really nice. Heated worked well and fast. Room was a great size especially for people with outdoor gear. Had no issues with parking. Very close to shops and dining, we left our car in the lot when we went to Heavenly Village. Noise was normal for lodging of this kind -- bring earplugs as you'll hear people talking outside and the cars early in the morning. I like this place better than BlackJack.

Great place, but some small things (that had temporary solutions) would be great to improve: -There was an outdoor light that was on at night and shined through the window in our door and lit up our room. Could use a shade for the window? Temporary solution is to bring an eyemask. -Replacing the ceiling light bulb with a softer, warmer light. It's very white and flourescent so we went without it and instead utilized the cute nightstand lamps.

Our room was well thought out, with a cute little breakfast nook area equipped with the usual mini fridge and microwave. They accommodated our request for a first floor with a tub with less than 24 hours' notice, which was appreciated. The parking is tight if you have a large vehicle, but they do have a few spaces in the front that work. Overall, a great value during the week off season in Tahoe.

The location was perfect since we were able to walk to Harvey's for the concert which helped avoid parking hassles and we were able to hit a couple nearby places without having to rent a scooter or take a ride share. Face it, when you go to a place like Tahoe, you just need a clean, comfortable, well located place to crash and this place fit the bill.

Overall, it is a nice place with clean, comfortable rooms. Only two things were a bit negative, but hey, the place gets a lot of traffic, so I forgive easily. Just want to let the proprietors know the AC unit in 108 is in need of replacing because it banged really loud when the compressor would kick in. The only other thing was the bathroom door sticks and could use an adjustment. Like I said, it comes with use, so it's not a deal killer and I'd gladly stay there again. :)

Large, modern and very clean room! Nice staff who checked us in. Good quiet location within easy walking distance of the nice town area.

The bed made a very loud thunder-like noise whenever you got into bed or rolled over or knocked the bed as you walk past! A bit strange!! The room was also slightly chilly for us when it was -5oC in the night and snowing. One other thing… we think that the need to remove all food and drink from your car and not leave any rubbish outside or around, should be reminded to all guests (as it has been at all our other hotels and motels). A huge black bear comes pretty much every night to go through the bins and have a general nosey around. It’s nice to see them, but would have been good to be reminded because we weren’t thinking of it as much since we aren’t from anywhere local and we were in a small city, not the wilderness.

It was quiet and clean . It had a microwave and refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable.

It’s nothing to look at . I was actually a little afraid to stay because there was no staff on site and I was alone. It seems to be “a contractor’s motel” There were primarily trucks in the parking lot , they were no families and there was no noise after 9 pm people started leaving pretty early in the morning.

location off the main street is nice plus it’s walking distance to shopping and dining. also less street noise because of that. my room didn’t have carpeting which was a bonus. clean and comfortable although the bed was too “springy”. the decor seemed more personal and not generic hotel. overall pretty nice and I’d stay again.

once the neighbors upstairs woke up I could hear them moving around pretty clearly and it was loud. the door to the room is like the door to a house in that it has frosted glass pane at the top but nothing to cover it at night so the light comes through.

The room was great, clean, fresh, modern, with a lot of room, and a small dinning/working table for 2 (was very useful and great to have it in the room) ... looked like it was renewed very recently, and all was working properly. The staff was very nice and helpful. the girl from the front desk was very kind, we asked for extra towels and she provided without hesitation, the girls with doing the housekeeping, were also very respectful and nice, even Martin, a guy who was doing some renovation work, was super helpful when he realized we had a tire with low air. One of the mornings we woke up with quite a bit of snow, but they had it all removed and clear as soon as it was possible. They have ice machine and the water in the bathtub is really nice and as hot as you want it! There was also a good space for drying and hanging things near a window. there is a mini fridge and a microwave. we prepared our meals in the room and it was perfect.

Cannot recall anything that I didnt like.
