Stardust Lodge

Very good location in center of South Lake Tahoe. Excellent, friendly staff. Excellent pillows—not those foot-high, rock-hard pillows the hotel chains use. Didn’t use the two (2) pools, but other guests seemed to like them. The kitchen has a gmfrusge big enough to be usable, and even a dishwasher.

Rated this down a lot because the shower/tub was DANGEROUS! On the edge of an already-high soaking-type tub, they mounted a rail for a shower door. Both of the times I screwed up my courage to take a shower, I caught my foot in that rail and almost fell. A shower curtain would have been far safer. Also, if you select a studio, take note that the ONLY bed is a Murphy bed. That is, not a regular bed plus a Murphy bed.

It was a great location, had everything you needed.

The only negative was they had a hot dog, hamburger night for $12 which included a soda and chips. I got the hamburger which came with all the fixings, however, the burger patty was so over cooked I was unable to finish it as it became rock hard, seriously, rock hard. Other than that, it was all great there.

Location for shopping, restaurants, Harrahs if you gamble, grocery store, cinema... all walking distance. You’re in a busy area so if you’re ok with that for the previously mentioned conveniences you’re good to go. Had a problem with the tv and when we called the front desk someone showed up within 60 seconds and fixed it. Pool was nice and clean. Pool in the back was not open for some reason.

Although you are within walking distance of beach you have to pay $25 per person I believe to get in. No way. We found other ways to the beach but had to drive. Note, even when you hear there is a free beach you still have to pay to park generally. The property: I thought it was just fine. We had one bedroom and the couch pulled out to a bed. Daughter said it was uncomfortable but she survived. Small place but we made do. No air conditioning - although it cooled down at night we definitely could have used the A/C.

minutes walk from gondola. no 24h staff but very easy to check in late at night. parking is a little challenging but eventually found a spot.

room a bit outdated. sofa bed can be updated. no ski room so need to keep skis and boots indoor - can get a bit tight for family of 4.

This facility has two separate pool areas - did not feel overcrowded at all. Daily activities and live music added to the stay. Very clean and very relaxing. The perfect getaway!

Parking was limited

The breakfast could have been more of a breakfast vs donuts and pastries. We ended up buying groceries and cooking breakfast in the room since it had a wonderful little kitchen.

The location was the primary reason we chose Stardust Lodge. It is right across the street from the gondola that takes you up to Heavenly Ski Mtn. So convenient! Plus it is located in the heart of beautiful South Lake Tahoe. The room was small but clean and cozy. The bathroom was beautiful! We had our two teenagers with us and they slept in the pull-out sofa (blowup air mattress) and my husband I had our own room with a comfy bed. A small kitchen area was also nice to have. Again, we were a bit cramped with all four of us but we really enjoyed our stay there and the price was a good value. Would definitely recommend!

The breakfast wasn’t great but was okay. Some donuts, orange slices, hard boiled eggs etc.

The location was favorable for a short trip. I liked the kitchen supplies (dishes and silverware) in the room. I didnt expect that and will be more prepared to bring my own food next time. Also the staff were kind.

I don't think we were able to connect to the TV with our movie apps, so we checked out some DVDs at the office and found a classic that we really enjoyed.

The staff are incredibly courteous and on top of everything. The location is unbeatable; shops and restaurants are everywhere and the lake front is a 10-minute walk. Just a really relaxed and comfortable vibe

The building is getting old and it shows, it could use some TLC. Beds are not the most comfortable but adequate. It's not a "resort" by any stretch of the imagination; with one of the pools right on the boulevard, it has more of a motel feel to it.
