Cambria Hotel New Haven University Area

Hotel is nice and new. The location is close to the centre of town, everything within 10 to 15 minute walk. Room was very clean and overall quite well managed.

I found the staff to be withdrawn and impolite. While the room rate was OK, everything else in the hotel is expensive. Like so many other hotels these days, they don't supply water. But whats of particular annoyance is the only water they can sell you in the lobby is S. Pelligrino, Sparkling! When I asked about this I was met with te same withdrawn and impolite attidude described above. Surely hotels know we need WATER to survive?

The hotel is very pretty and nicely laid out. We did get an upgrade to the room because I have a knee walker. That was fabulous as when I called to book no accessible rooms were available. The only thing I missed was a fee for parking. It is on the site but I did not see it. For the price of the room I thought $24 parking was outrageous. When booking we did not know the area which is near Yale and it is a city. Also near a hospital. So all night we heard sirens. I am a light sleeper so that was bothersome. This is not the hotels fault at all. My lower score of due to the parking fee. If we had to pay for parking it should be in the price as its added to your room anyway if you get a parking pass. I feel parking should not be an add on service going to a hotel. Maybe that’s my problem but I never experienced that and maybe if I traveled more that might be common. I am not sure. But back to the hotel. It’s a great stay and absolutely beautiful room and decor and lobby. Last but not least, the pillows are heavenly!!! I wished I had one!!! Forgot to ask of they sell them.

Sirens from hospital and parking fee.

Absolutely perfection!! I stayed at the Cambria New Haven University location, during the Fourth of July weekend for one week. The hotel staff is definitely a recommended friendly bonus. The restaurant staff and the delicious food is excellent. Also, the bartenders are fantastic and prompt. The location is downtown next to Yale University. Near everything you would want to be walking or driving distance. I will be staying there everytime I'm in New Haven. Tanisha K.

Nothing. It was excellent

Breakfast was good, hotel was in wonderful shape, and staff were friendly and very good.

At times a strong smell of pot. A group sitting at the bar and when I got off the elevator on my floor. This was the 1st night, 2nd night no smell. Not the hotels fault but this was the only negative thing I can say. Hotel was new, clean, and great staff service

Decor

I think my AC system was broken. When I turned it on, it would get extremely cold in the room. Then, when I would turn on the heat to warm the room up, it would pump out very humid air. Everything would fog up within a couple of minutes, and the air would get moist & thick. So I only had a choice to very cold, or very humid

Walking distance to Yale campus and attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. The space lobby area is really nicely done, very welcoming and several places to sit and work, read, talk, etc. Room was really nice.

Street traffic noise: My room faced the main street. Traffic noise starts at about 5:30 am.

An excellent option: clean, comfortable, well equipped... The room had a mini-fridge and a coffee maker, which are always nice additions to a room. The staff was kind and helpful. The reception area and the bar were elegantly decorated.

It's a little far from the university area and even farther away from the train station.

the hotel is very modern, with all the upgrades such as automatic lights, the room key easy to use. the bathroom was excellent, roomy nice shower. The lobby area was inviting and felt at home, the staff was excellent and very helpful!!

The view from our room was of the surrounding neighborhood, upkeep poor. However without looking down the sky was great!

This was a great hotel at a great price only a few minutes away from the Westhaven Music Bowl. They had secure parking and friendly staff.

My type of room wasn't ready (cleaned) per the front desk when I arrived around 4:30pm. The staff was able to clean it so after my concert it was ready for me.

Newer hotel was spotless, has an amazing gym set up for a hotel, has food options on site, located close to downtown and parking options close by. The staff were friendly as well.

no pool which would have been amazing for the kids, parking was rediculously priced.
