Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach - DoubleTree by Hilton

After a debacle at another hotel, upon my arrival, I found the Bahia Mar. Right from the beginning, the hospitality was warm and welcoming. Because I had just booked the room on the booking app, my reservation wasn't showing in their system. The young lady at the desk took her time and found it, and it was nothing but good times from that point on. They made every penny spent worth it. Easy access to the beach, the pool area was always clean and even the staff there were very nice. I always saw someone cleaning the areas of the hotel and being accommodating. The restaurant staff took very good care of me as well. I was just overall pleased with this hotel.

Pros: Room was great, pool was amazing [dj was a great touch!] and location was perfect!

Cons: I was aware that housekeeping was only available upon request, due to COVID, but the front desk never answered the phone during our stay. We ran out of toilet paper and clean towels. We had to run down everytime to ask for these things, which, really, we shouldn't have had to. The elevator also got very backed up, with no accessible stairs this was a little frustrating.

Getting booted out of our original room on 14th floor due to remodeling and relocated. Wasn’t this remodeling known about in advance?

the hotel is next to the beach the hotel is forcing the guests to pay mandatory fee of about 40 $ per room for using those facilities but it was not mentioned while doing the reservation

Great location and clean, some staff was very nice and accommodating.

Final bill was incorrect and never reimbursed. Not the price agreed on on Bookings. Very overpriced…. The pool bar was ridiculously overpriced. They give you vouchers for drinks but the bartender said we could use them for water or soda but that’s not what the voucher said! A little disappointing. My niece that went with us was disappointed as well and canceled a future booking for April.

The hotel was excellent. I’m glad I didn’t go by the reviews. The employees were amazing. I was expecting my balcony to be a bit bigger.. other than that the rooms are good. Breakfast was perfect!! My waiter Patrina was amazing. So professional and helpful!! Valet was excellent. And the night chef was also great!!

The location is probably a 10 minute ride from the airport. The location on the beach is beautiful. It has its own private bridge from the resort to the beach. The room we had was facing the boat docks, it was a beautiful view and very quiet on property.

I didn't like that the lobby and the main dining area for breakfast were very busy and a bit confusing when you needed to get a table. The hotel might consider using the coffee shop they have to seat more guests or have an appointed hostess on staff to manage the guests in the lobby/dining area. It was noisy and the set up seemed very chaotic.

The staff were professional, nice, and very helpful. I had read the reviews on several sites and there were many concerns about the hotel being under staffed and the construction going on. There appeared to be enough staff during my stay and during the busy season, I didn’t have to wait too long for service. My request were answered/completed quickly. In regards to construction, construction appeared to be done on the inside. I only saw painters working on the crosswalk and pool area. It didn’t Interfere with my trip or enjoyment of the resort.

During peak time, the elevators took longer to arrive. This was expected and just required patience. Not an issue to ding the hotel. I would have like more drink choices with the two a day coupons.

Location. I like the safe overpass to the beach, convenient. Close to all shops and restaurants. Love the pool, staff was pleasant. Rooms were a nice size. Remember Hilton won’t clean rooms every day unless you ask, they are environmentally friendly, saves water and electricity. Room was clean but your not at a 5 star hotel so don’t expect perfection also during Covid staff won’t clean every day. Breakfast was worth adding during the stay. Omelet was amazing and only $6 more should be included with the extra price. Beach chairs included. $25 for an umbrella all day worth it. They give you towels.

Elevators. Slow and break all the time. Talked to several people who got stuck during our stay at different times. There are stairwells so request a lower floor so you can use the stairs. Omelets should be included when u add breakfast since other hotel amenities aren’t even open during Covid and we are paying a daily fee on top of the stay. Wish room was cleaned At least every other day I don’t think I saw a cleaning staff at all, when your so close to the beach you will bring in sand to the rooms, so an every other day cleaning would be good. Stayed 4 days room never got cleaned once.
