Hampton Inn Gainesville

The cleanliness was excellent overall. However, in the corners of the bathroom floor there were accumulations of hair, dust and other debris. I have over 15 years experience designing and overseeing cleaning protocols for both medical institutions and commercial properties. I understand that there are many challenges involved, and it can be very difficult to catch every detail. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have as much experience in the area. I was very satisfied with the overall stay, and would stay there again. I share these observations mainly so that the business can maintain and potentially improve upon an already great experience.

I liked that it was a very clean place, not only the room but the front desk and breakfast area. Breakfast was very good. Staff was kind and friendly.

I would give a perfect 10, but my family and I we had a hard time with the bathroom. The sink was kind of clogged, it was also very uncomfortable to wash your hands on it cause it was too high even for me as an adult, so it was even harder for my kids to reach it. Then, when we took a shower, the tub was also clogged. All those inconvenients made us check out late. The front desk had to give us a call at the room to remind us of our checkout time, but it was due to all those inconveniences.

Location is great, it's nestled away off the main drag, but still near everything. The location has extensive parking, and the building design is a simple rectangle, so you're never far from stairs or an elevator. Breakfast was essentially the same as other Hampton Inn's we've been to, but this place seemed to grasp the fundamentals better than others we've been to(they took the time to properly heat up the food). The potatoes were more crispy and less hard, the sausage was actually hot and not just lukewarm, etc. This goes a long way towards making the breakfast experience exceptional. The western omelets are a a standout. I do also want to note that I'm a bigger guy, and I don't always fit in armed chairs that are included in rooms. I did fit in both chairs in our room comfortably, and I appreciate that.

I only have small complaints. The bed was a little stiff, the pillows are at this strange fullness where one isn't enough and two is too much. Staggering the pillows rather than stacking them seemed to help. The TV was also setup to not allow for input(hdmi 1, hdmi 2) changes via either the remote or the tv itself, so I had difficulty attaching electronics we brought with us to the tv for usage. I found this a bit confusing, as there's not any security issue that would merit blocking this feature. I'd like to see that changed.

Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean, I loved the option of being able to sign into my personal Netflix account to watch specific things. The pool was small, and not much shade but it was empty when my kids and I went so that wasn't an issue. They accommodated my late check in. Tons of fast food, restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores in the general area. Extremely close to 75, but NO noise from highway traffic. Breakfast was hot, and included in price from 6am to 10am. Variety of stuff from waffles, cereal, omelets, oatmeal, juices, milk, coffee etc etc. Overall we were super happy with our stay, the staff, the cleanliness and the location.

The place is in a great location for what we needed. We will be back as we are looking to move up to the area & will need a place to stay while we look for homes. Your breakfast has variety to pick from but you don’t want to get down there after 9:30 am, you only get what’s left. (And not much left). We enjoyed the room & everybody was very nice.

We brought our dog & you had to walk across the hot asphalt driveway to get to the dog walking area. Certainly there’s a better place that they don’t have to walk across the heat. Also there were no poop bags in the dispenser. Thank heavens I brought my own (we have big dog).

There were a good assortment of quality breakfast items available and the breakfast area was roomy. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. The location was convenient for the attractions we came to see. There were also a good assortment of snacks and drinks available for purchase in the lobby.

The room was large and nicely furnished. Everything worked. Breakfast facilities were clean, plentiful and well organized.

The first room I was given had a view of the roof and air conditioning units. I was transferred to a room with a view of the forest. That was good. However, was closed. I was very unhappy about that since I had planned to spend a good amount of time around the pool.

Raquel, who manages the location, is amazing. She was multi-tasking and helping every person. We even saw her call another hotel to help a couple who was having trouble finding a place to stay because her hotel was booked. She also helped me so much when I forgot a bag there and got 140 miles down the road before I realized what I had done.

It's definitely a dated Hampton Inn, but we had fun and everyone there seemed helpful and happy.

there should be a firm short vertical handicap bar next to shower. one of the towel holders had been pulled out of wall probably due to continued holding for someone's stability.
