Hotel Chelsea

The location was amazing! We walked everywhere because it’s so close to everything! I do think it’s more luxurious in the pictures but overall it was a good hotel and I would stay here again because as I said you can’t beat the price for the location honestly!

The shower took like 5 minutes to heat up and I also didn’t like the 100 dollar fee when I arrived! While I understand it’s for a safety deposit I don’t see why it’s not included in the original price. Also it takes 2-3 business days to refund into my account which just isn’t really convenient

Great location. When I came in the restaurant host welcomed me. I ate in the bar one night and the food was awesome and beer very cold. All restaurant staff was the opposite of the clerks--nice range of expression, friendly and professional. Very clean and cool room.

When I checked in and out the clerks were rude. The woman reiterated all the fees that I would incur when I smoked in the elevator and my room. Weird. I have never smoked in my life. Why not first ask if I smoke? You can also reframe things by saying, "If you smoke please do so 200-feet from our hotel," or the like. The man when I checked out told me that they were a corporation and had no room to store one small bag and due to COVID can't anyway. He offered no solution. I had to ask. He had no smile in his presentation.

Location was excellent for the price. The room is beautiful, exactly what you would expect for old school Miami. Proper updates while maintaining the integrity of the building history.

Conflict with what we booked via booking.com. Our reservation was messed up and we ended up paying 25% more than expected.

The bar & restaurant on the premises was a bonus. The free vodka & gin cocktails during Happy Hr @ their sister hotel, The Catalina (oceanfront), & the rooftop sun deck & pool use @ another sister hotel, The Chesterfield, made up for the Chelsea not having a pool & being 2 blocks away from the beach. However, my shower never reached the warm water temperature that I am accustomed for me to comfortably take a shower. If it weren’t for the 90° day, I wouldn’t have been able to take the cool water shower.

I’ve stayed at the other sister hotels (Chesterfield Suites, Hotel Shelly and WhiteLaw) before. All off the properties are nice, safe, clean and include the free happy hour 7 days a week. This property is two blocks from the beach and closer to a Burger King, other restaurants and shops if you need or want snacks for the beach or a quick bite. I think Subway is up one block and across the street. There are several bus stops not far away, especially if you’re take the 150 bus from Miami airport airport.

We were on the third floor and the windows were high up from the floor; mayb 8 feet from the floor, we couldn’t see outside. There wasn’t anything abt the hotel I didn’t like.

Location is great. Staff was very friendly, especially Carlos at the front desk was very helpful.

No housekeeping

I loved my stay at the Chelsea. Staff were kind & helped with anything I needed. It’s right in the heart of south beach & wasn’t to expensive. I loved there was restaurant on property as well as bar. Because they don’t have a pool we were informed of the pools we were allowed to enter at there sister hotels which were a couple blocks down as well as every day for an hour we also had free drinks at the sister hotel as long as we showed our room key & I plan on staying at the Chelsea again when I visit! Btw this wasn’t my first time staying at the Chelsea but my second & again I highly recommend. Check in & check out was very easy

Room, comfortable bed, great shower, size of hotel room, nice bar area and good food in the restaurant, 2 blocks from beach and Ocean drive so great location, free beach towels is a nice touch

I loved that the property was close to the beach. There was a restaurant attached but from my room I couldn’t hear any loud noises which I liked while I slept. The property looked just like the pictures.

I did not like that the hotel and the restaurant were basically ran by two different people. When I asked for something the restaurant staff would tell me they don’t work for the hotel and couldn’t help me. Some were even rude about it but I was only asking for a fork which could come from the restaurant.

The hotel has a vibe from the moment you walk in. The restaurant is located right at the entrance of the hotel. Good food, drinks and music. Room was great. Spacious, clean, lots of natural light. and it had everything I needed (sofa, fridge, safe, iron, ironing board). Loved the bathroom as well, huge shower. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Very friendly staff. Carlos at the front desk was very accommodating from the moment I walked in. I was allowed to check in early (for a fee). Dropped off my bags in the room and headed to the beach while the lady was cleaning it (she had moved everything in the room, fridge, sofa, trash cans, so I know she was really cleaning!) Beach towels are available upon request at the desk. A very nice lady who was sitting in the lobby area (owner or manager maybe) heard me inquiring about beach umbrellas at the front desk and was kind enough to get me one that they had laying around. Very attentive! Great location. Right on Washington avenue, just a couple of blocks away from the beach and near lots of restaurants and bars. CVS right across the street. I have been working in hospitality for over 10 years and I can be very picky about the places I stay. I can honestly say I would come back here and even recommend it!

The hotel is very charming, but a little outdated. Could use new iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Called the front desk a few times from my room and wasn't able to get a hold of anyone.
