Embassy Suites St Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort

The breakfast and the happy hour were great! The complimentary snacks were very repetitive. All of the personnel we encountered were great with the exception of one young lady when I asked to check in an hour early and she basically scolded me that “check in is 4pm” I was well aware of check in time but anyone who as travelled all day I was only inquiring.She never even suggested making ourselves comfortable at the beautiful resort.

The bathroom at poolside was horrible. I realize it’s a busy area but let’s get one person on this. It was absolutely filthy!!! The room was clean but not great and every day we had to ask for extra towels. The valet parking is a real very inconvenient. We would prefer to just have our car in a parking area.

The lobby with the view that takes your breath away! All the spaces inside and outside are just beautiful!! Room was clean and spacious. Staff were wonderful and really wanted to help make you enjoy your stay. They were laid back but always ready to help. Manager's reception is ALWAYS nice with plenty of snacks, and even though there were a lot of people there, the bartenders worked their cans off to get everyone served quickly and efficiently. The live music they had on the patio nightly was really relaxing. There are several areas between the patio and pool with cushiony seating and umbrellas where you could read, nap or just chill out. The pool was absolutely the BEST though - clear, clean, lots of space, and near an outdoor bar! We ate at the restaurant for dinner and the She crab soup and calamari were excellent! Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and well-laid out. Omelette bar was excellent too!

Access to the beach is on the side of the hotel, and kind of small. Unfortunately, there's been some beach erosion and (I'm assuming) they've had to build a retaining wall and install a fence (chain link :o) to protect the property. Valet parking was the only option and pricey, but service was spot on.

Building a new sea wall right at the entrance to the beach so some noise at pool from digger. Also the way I was presented with my bill. So they take a cost charge for everything which shows up on my account as 5 separate pending transactions. They then present me with a bill to pay for everything. And charge it again and I have to now wait for the pending transactions to come off. Most confusing situation I ever seem in all my years of personal and business travel. Plus didn’t help a new desk person was initially trying to explain it not very well.

The room was very clean and comfortable. It had been renovated. I was pleased that there was a nice bathtub as I'm not a shower person. The clerk who checked us in was very accommodating and let us check in early. It was a short walk to the beach. A convenience store was next door for snacks, etc. Close to restaurants. It was quiet. The clerk who checked us out was friendly. We were overall pleased with the accomodations.

Unfortunately, due to resealing, the indoor pool was out of order, which was disappointing, but understandable. The pillows weren't the most comfortable.

I liked Everything, that was available. The gorgeous and comfortable outdoor seating along with the ocean view that is not only visible, but perfectly designed adjacent to the beautiful, spacious lobby sets the tone for the stay. Firepits along with the comfy furniture on the patio (there has to be a grander name for the area)...I could've slept out there. So cozy... My room was spacious. Bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was such a pleasant surprise! The service at dinner was good, but the breakfast was wonderful. I did the earliest setting and the menu was very satisfying. If I ever return, and I really hope to...I will arrive as close to check-in as possible, so I can enjoy a longer meet-n- drink time😉 As a regular beach visitor, I'd watched Embassy come up from the ground. I had watched from the beach, the completed facility being enjoyed... and to finally treat myself to just one night... It was all I expected, hoped for and more.

The Lobby is very pretty as well as the outside deck/seating. I really appreciated the happy hour of complimentary drinks from 4:30-6:00. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well.

From first glance the room is very nice, I have no major complaints. I am a bit of a germaphobe and I noticed some little details that grossed me out a tiny bit but overall it ended up being fine. The couch in the living area had multiple big stains on it on each cushion. I stayed away from the couch haha. The floor of the shower also had some staining as well as some black dirt spots like it wasn't fully cleaned. I paid close to $700 for 2 nights. Seemed a little steep to me but it could have just been the time of year and what the rates are for the area being that it is touristy. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and the room felt relatively clean!

The numerous activities and open space. Many places to lounge in the lobby and outside.

Centrally located elevators. Guests who stay in certain rooms have a long distance to walk to get there. When traveling with small children or handicapped people, this could create a unnecessary burden. Also, one of the elevators was not working. This left a long line for the elevators, and sometimes they didn’t work properly (skipping floors, not alerting awaiting guests of their arrival, etc.)

The building is beautiful. The pool, the kids activities. The beach is right there! Love it. I loved the toys to share for the pool and the beach. What a great idea!

Some of the items in the convenience store were a little too expensive. I would of expended more money if it was cheaper. The wall in the bedroom had “nose bugger” stuck in the wall. The bathroom shower head needed some cleaning and the room mini fridge didn’t cool too much.

The hot tub needs repair, missing several tiles. Menu doesn’t have a very large selection and is a little pricy. The breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. The bartenders at happy hour were great! I am a little unhappy with whoever handles the billing because on our arrival we were charged $1812.52 twice on 05/21/23. When reviewing our credit card charges after we got home I found the mistake. I will be calling in the morning.

Practically a private beach with limited public use, not crowded at all, very nice! Hotel Food was great, friendly staff, loved the provided towels for the pool & free happy hour :)

Parking. I would rather be able to park myself for free, not be forced to pay for valet parking each day with no other choice. Tight space at hotel entrance too for valet when coming and going.
