Thunderbird Beach Resort

We had a ground floor pool side room by the quiet pool, easy access to room from vehicle. Parking was very tight but security helped a lot. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

The bathroom needs an exhaust fan. A shuttle to the beach for those that can't walk that distance would probably be a money maker. Even if it was just a retiree for tips.

Rooms were delightful. Lovely decor. Comfy beds. Location. Excellent Only down was there was no food available. Fruit was in reception but selection muffins would have been great. Simple bar snacks maybe?

Location is Perfect and all staff was Excellent, free parking!! Love that it's an "older" hotel. We will definitely stay again!!

Breakfast is not offered, but there are several restaurants close. A few are within walking distance, a few more by a short car ride. The location is excellent and easy to drive to. The beach at this resort is very nice and was not busy during our stay at all. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. A BIG plus - they have night security so you feel like you, your car are being watched AND you feel comfortable walking around at night. We really liked that. The garden / commons area by the pool is very nice and relaxing. There is a neat little tiki bar by the pool if that is your thing! They even had live music by the pool on Friday and Saturday night.

No major complaints on our part. One little annoying thing (but not a huge deal) was that we had to go ask for the correct # of towels and wash cloths every single day. It wasn't like they left two of each every day and we had four people. It was a different number and combination every day which was kind of weird. I would recommend (to the hotel) matching the # of items left in the room with the # of guests on the reservation. Another thing you will have to deal with is very limited parking on the property. We had to get help from the front desk one evening just to find a place to park. However, we were always able to park on the property.

We loved the set up of our suite and the proximity to the beach was wonderful! the pools are very dated and somewhat dirty but we knew that from previous reviews and were okay with it since we were there for the beach. The hotel restaurant is closed, but the pool bar makes great drinks and the restaurant next door (sloppy Joe’s) has great food. Note their breakfast is very slow though so make sure you have time to eat before heading there. we walked across to Ricky Ts and watched live music as well and enjoyed that. I would stay here again as long as I was not after swimming in the pool.

Room was tidy. Cool when we arrived. Pool area nice. Tiki hut bar nice; drinks only ok. Better last year. Love that there is usually a band playing daily.. (should play radio when not a band, though)

Room not cleaned daily, or at least fresh towels supplied. Um, in the pool area, there were prostitutes working the pool, NOT part of guests. NOT joking. There were 2. In the pool, discussing clinics and ERs they get HIV and chlamydia testing, etc.. It was rather nasty. The one was working the single, older men around the pool. Eventually, got a taker and was taken to his room. They were not guest of the hotel or anyone staying!!! Should have better security asking for room cards once in awhile to avoid this!! Wish the restaurant would reopen, at least for breakfast..

The lobby, pool, hot tub, and beach areas were very nice. The room was very nice and clean! Our room had a two burner stove, a mini fridge, coffee maker, and sink. Nice little kitchenette area. Beautiful view of the beach. The staff was incredibly accommodating and very friendly. They offered water bottles and beach towels when we checked in, which I thought was a nice touch. We were there early so they allowed us to use the facilities. There was a area for us to change into our bathing suits and go down to the beach and they called when a room was available. The tiki bar was great and they had a couple different types of musicians that played two times each day. They had outside games to play. There was a hot dog cart, and nice tables, chairs, and umbrellas available.

They didn’t have a elevator that went to the third floor. The hike from the hotel down to the beach, which isn’t their fault. It was just pretty brutal in the heat at this time of year, with all of our beach stuff. Prior locations we’ve stayed at have been much closer to the water. Wish they had a restaurant that even had some small offerings.

Absolutely wonderful on every level! It was clean, so comfortable, and right on the beach. The beach itself was fantastic, with soft sand and gorgeous sunsets. Thunderbird Beach Resort was the best value of it's kind in this area as we looked for the right place to stay. Parking was included in our stay (not always the case with places like this). Also, it is walking distance to several restaurants. If given the chance, we would love to return and stay here even longer. It was a true vacation...so restful.

The location was perfect!! Right on the beach!! Hotel rooms were clean, and large. The staff was very friendly!! They each went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic! Check in and parking was quick and easy! The free water bottles at check in was an awesome gesture!

The big pool was a little cloudy like maybe the filter wasn't working properly, and they cleaned it each morning around 11am which seemed a little late since the pool opened at 9am. However they did have a second pool! It's a little smaller, but it was clean and we definitely got to enjoy it!

Location was great! We stayed in a sweet and it was very cute and had everything that we needed. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially the housekeeping staff! Pool could’ve been cleaner but I’m sure it has to do with the large amount of people using them. Also the parking is sparse especially at night. Overall we had a great time. We would definitely come back!
