Baymont by Wyndham Savannah Midtown

We like the location, but we especially love the front desk ladies. April has been there for years and she is so pleasant when we check in. We travel to Florida several times a year and this hotel is our stopover destination. This past stop we had the pleasure of being checked in by Denise. She’s so sweet and took great care of us. We missed seeing April and hope she’s feeling better soon.

We checked in around 9pm and there were several vehicles parked in the far end of the front parking area. They had their MUSIC blasting and the bass was vibrating the whole area. We thought they would eventually turn it off with respect for all of the other guests. At 11:15 we called the front desk and explained the situation. Someone went to speak to them, but shortly afterwards it started up again. After awhile it finally stopped; we think someone else complained.

we like the location and it’s easy to park … we stop here on our way to Florida and again on our way back home. Our go to place for dinner is The Crab Shack out at Tybee, and it’s very convenient to get there from this location. our second place we visit is Byrd’s Cookie on Waters, and it’s very convenient as well. We take goodies to our friends and family in Florida from Byrd’s, and stop by on our way home to get some for ourselves.

this particular stay, we had some VERY LOUD people upstairs from our room. It was only 7 pm, but it sounded like a dance class was taking place. We went to the office and within 10 minutes it was completely quiet.

The breakfast was good and hot. The bed was very comfortable,

There were doors being slammed shut on the second floor which was had a outside entrance, we were on the third floor which our entrance was inside. Also they missed on day of servicing our room, and one day I had to go to the front desk to get hand towels and face cloths. They put none of these in our bathroom. When we arrived the bathroom had hair in it in places.

The staff were all very friendly

It was super dirty. We around a roach crawling on the nightstand. There were dead bugs and dust behind the bathroom door and behind the nightstand. Holes in the bathroom door. Hair and some other Unknown things on the shower curtain. The room smelled like smoke though it was a non smoking room.

Overall this place was great - free breakfast, a fitness room and outdoor pool for a good rate. The desk were always friendly. Room was comfortable and the tv had a good range of channels - wifi was pretty good as well considering. Room was clean as well as the bathroom and both fridge and microwaved worked.

My only big complaint is that my doors lock/bolt didnt work. (Single female traveling alone for work) It had one screw “kinda” hanging on but it wouldnt have done any good. I kept it there as a placebo effect basically but it fell off a couple times. So aside from an access card there was no way to stop someone from breaking in. I was only there two nights and kept my valuables on me, but I would shy away from any longer stays for security/safety reasons.

The bed was comfortable. The air conditioner cooled off the room well. The lights had two different settings. The room was right on the ground floor next to the parking spot.

The sink in the room did not drain very well. The shower in the bathroom was quite rusted and was hard to keep the drain in place. There was a lot of noise coming through the ceiling. It sounded like people were jumping up and down all night.

The hotel room was clean, and everything worked as it should. We loved the breakfast, there were a good bit of options. We have a vegan son, so we were limited for food choices, but that's very typical any place that serves free breakfast, and the pool was nice and clean ! The price over a holiday weekend, wasn't bad, especially seeing what other places were charging for memorial day weekend. We will be staying here again.

I don't really have any complaints, we felt like this was worth our money.

The front desk agent April was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy.

We thought the breakfast needs some work. The eggs were not satisfactory. There were no bagels, and a better section of pastries would be nice. The room was pretty and clean.The bed was very comfortable. Two chairs and small table would have been nice in the room. The bathroom needs updating still. The toilet was TOO LOW.

The breakfast was nice, a good selection to choose from and on time every morning. Every time I came up to the front desk I got everything I asked for, very polite staff. Clean pool, clean rooms, clean restrooms. I like the thinner white comforters on the beds because I can tell its clean just by looking at it.

The facilities are due for an update and a couple of things in the fitness room and laundry room needed repairs.

Room smelled of mold. And lights went out during stay.
