Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah/Midtown

The beds were not comfortable, hard to use the key card and open the door, older building, air conditioning was sporadic, nothing on television programs and if there was it was repeated programs nightly. The staff, however, was outstanding, friendly and helpful. Their hotel was clean and had hot water. The fridge was ok for water, nothing more, and made popping noises that kept you awake. The air conditioning had to be turned down very low otherwise it was hot. The beds and pillows uncomfortable. Maintanence adjusted the door, but the key card had to be inserted numerous times to get the door to open. Other residents complained about the doors as well. No shuttle service.

The location to the historic district was a short drive. Close to many food establishments if you’re looking for something quick. The breakfast at the hotel was outstanding. The housekeeping crew and front desk staff went above and beyond the call of duty. My wife, and two of my children got sick. The housekeeping crew didn’t bat an eye and cleaned everything up. The front desk crew stayed in touch with me the entire time the housekeeping crew was cleaning our room. We had to stay in the lobby while the cleaning was taking place. They even gave us a can of Lysol to get rid of any lingering germs. Hats off to the entire administration and staff! We will be staying here again in the future. Kids loved the indoor pool as well.

The parking which is $7 a day. Not a deal breaker but which it was no charge for people staying there.

The breakfast was good. The room was clean. The pillows were amazing. I liked that the hotel checked in with me via text to make sure things were going well.

The parking fee is ridiculous. On this trip, we also stayed in the middle of Myrtle Beach and very near the center of Charleston at an upscale hotel. Neither of these two places charged for parking. This hotel is 25 minutes from the city and not in a great neighborhood. I can’t imagine what the reason for charging to park in your own lot would be.

I feel very safe here and love the close proximity to shopping, restaurants and access to major streets in Savannah. You also do not hear the planes as you would at other hotels in the area

There is a security risk at the property that is particularly troublesome. While I'm sure the hotel trusts every one parking is a guesr/supposed to be there, there needs to be limited access and better security using key cards. It was this way last year so I don't know if safety plan has changed

Very clean and pleasant, with nice breakfast. The room was lovely.

We tried to check in about half an hour after check in time, but our room wasn’t ready, and desk staff weren’t able to say how long it would be. This was stressful as we were due at a pre-booked event in the city centre by a certain time. Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful through. In the end we had to wait about 45 minutes, which left us needing to choose between a swim and a shower - not ideal.

One of our beds leaned to the side since alignment rail was broken Rate was higher than usual since there were multiple events in the area that weekend. Left over bottle water tops under beds no big deal

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. Every part was clean from the room, pool area, hallways, dinning area. Breakfast was good. The location was good. It wasn't too farrow center. Would have been good of a bus picked up and dropped off there. Not practical to walk from there, but not a bad drive. Also like the pool....

Well only had a couple of issues. The belds kept sliding off. Not sure why. On one of the beds the right side was broken down very badly you couldn't sleep on that side. The other issue was the lighting. I had a hard time seeing to put in contacts and makeup. We did not report or say anything about the beds. So not sure if they would have or could have done anything about it. Also the pool was not heated. It was very, very cold.

It was perfect for our 5 day stay. Booked 2 rooms. 1 double Queen room and 1 double Queen suite.. For 4 grandkids and my husband and I. Son and daughter in law. Breakfast, pool and rooms were wonderful. Staff was fantastic. Parking garage we very much liked. It was close to everything we were going to. Son left 3 New shirts in the closet. Called the next day. And received a prompt call back from the housekeeping supervisor, that they had them. We picked up when we left town, 2 days later. Honesty❣

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

It was easy to find parking and the cost per day is not bad. Overall, the room was clean. We were provided with extra towels and washcloths quickly due to the number of people we had staying at the hotel.

The amenities in the room were not as clean as they were on previous stays. The refrigerator was not clean and there were crumbs and chips that were in front of it. Also, our room did not have a shower curtain when we got there and so we had to ask for that and put it up ourselves. Putting it up was easy, but the fact that there wasn't one there to begin with is what was annoying.

Great continental breakfast. The breakfast server was nice. Very cold AC in our rooms. The mattress was comfortable. The maid on our first day was very nice and helpful. Clean room for the most part.

Didn't like having to pay an extra $7 a day for parking. That should have been included in the price of the room like most other hotels on earth. They took an extra $100 on my card upon sign in, saying it would be refunded after our visit, if there were no damages to the room . That didn't sit right with me. The headboards and flat pillows made the bed uncomfortable. The man that was mopping/vacuuming the floor (janitor?) was not very cordial. In fact he looked at us judgementally and shook his head. The pull-out sofa in our room smelled of urine. The indoor pool was cold even in the heat of summer.
