Aloft Chicago Downtown River North

This hotel is in a great location! There are literally dozens of places to eat or drink within a five minute walk and a very popular restaurant on the property. The staff at the front desk was EXCEPTIONAL! The room was of typical size for a city hotel but had everything we needed.

Our only disappointment was the cost of parking. I realize costly parking is part of visiting a big city but I thought it was exorbitant. (and not explained on the hotel website) Use Spot Hero!

I requested a city view and that's exactly what i got, i will never get tired of that view. The hotel is very central to everything, restaurants, shops and the train station. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Kenneth at reception, he was a pleasure to deal with, so polite and professional, he's the sort of person you want greeting you on arrival. The Beatrix restaurant downstairs has superb food and offers room service. The room was immaculately clean with the most comfortable beds. This was my third time to stay at the aloft and i will definitely be back for a fourth.

I really don't have any negative comments or complaints. I would have liked more coffee, sugar etc in the room but that's just my preference.

We were thrilled to know that such a fabulous restaurant is located in the hotel. We made dinner reservations, and everyone loved their meal. Coffee and breakfast in the morning was awesome! Valet parking was so easy, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was amazing - we loved being right in the middle of the bustling city and so close to pubic transit lines. We were able to walk or take the train everywhere.

Our room was not like the ones shown in pictures. It was smaller and not very spacious. The hotel is definitely well worn, and it's becoming outdated with it's style.

We picked this hotel because we like that they are pet friendly, they do not charge for small pets, so we always look for Aloft when we travel, the location was amazing we walked to our daily plans everyday, very close to popular spots like the Marina towers, the riverwalk, the Portillos chain restaurant, and lots of night life around too. We would def stay again here in the future.

Only thing I don't love is the parking situation, but we found a spot via SpotHero, but this parking thing is a city problem in most major cities all hotels charge.

Staff accommodation was amazing. Rooms and facilities were clean and well kept. Great location right in the middle of downtown Chicago. Anytime we needed help, from linens to directions the staff were quick to help. We were greeted with smiles everytime.

Only one elevator worked for most of our stay, which was understandable since it was a holiday weekend. Our room faced an ally which wasn't very pleasant but we were put on a higher floor so we still got a nice view of the city.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I loved the location, the access to nightlife, the restaurant downstairs, the Dry Bar toiletries, the really comfortable bed. The staff was friendly. If you want to be in River North, I highly recommend this hotel.

The only thing I did not like about the property was the noise. Baby crying, dog barking, guest next door raising their blinds - you’ll hear it all. Also, the fire station is very close, so expect to hear fire trucks at all hours. I used earplugs and it was fine.

Well located with many restaurant options within walking distance. Room was clean, quiet and nicely appointed. Bed was comfortable. My room overlooked the alley which was unfortunate as I enjoy the city. Staff was courteous and helpful. I would stay again.

Only thing I didn't enjoy was the view. I also wanted to open the window for some fresh air and the ventilation for the restaurant was below my window so it was too loud and smelly.

GREAT SERVICE & ROOM! Every thing was great! Rooms were spacious and well appointed. The staff was super friendly. Beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. You can't beat the location either! Around the corner from so many great restaurants and a 15 min walk to the Loop. A nice mix of guests too.

STREET NOISE! We were on the 11th floor facing the McDonald's. On both Friday and Saturday, people on motorcycles and those annoying "Fast & the Furious" wanna-be cars were drag racing all freaking night long! The would "goose" the throttle and the sound, I'm guessing ALL HOTELS IN THE AREA, would permeate the rooms. Thursday and Sunday nights were totally fine... We cranked up the sound machines on both mine and my husband's phone to dry to drown it out.

Small but modern room, because of COVID no maid service and apparently I am a slob after 4 days. This place is right in the heart of River North, a great restaurant, Beatrix, is separate but reachable through the lobby. Three blocks from the River Walk and three blocks from Michigan Ave. make it central to many iconic locations. Three blocks of Clark Street are blocked to traffic and have restaurant seating instead.

Small room and no valet bag storage after checkout, but they extend my checkout until 2:00 for $15. This is very inconvenient if you are traveling by plane or train unless you want to walk around town all afternoon with your luggage.
