Nice and clean and modern. i had a very spaceous room with one bed and a sofa.

The door to my room (417) didnt automaticall shu, you had to pull it shut. i didn’t notice the first time but a very nice lady memeber of the stadf ponted it out. The room didn’t have a safe which I was OK with but I was somewhat surprised to see that in such a nice hote.

Newly renovated rooms and lobby. Clean and decent amenities. Location is fine if you are visiting people who live in Hyde Park and/or near University of Chicago. I do not recommend this hotel for regular tourists who want to see Chicago as it is a bit far from the main attractions of Chicago. we were visiting family in Hyde Park and therefore the location was great for us.

the breakfast was horrendous! overall, I do not think the hotel (all things considered) is worth what they charge per night! sorry! I am a traveler and I paid more for this hotel in some of the most expensive cities in the world for the same number of nights! I do not know how the price is set by Hyatt on this property but it is not worth what they charge; it’s good but it’s not 1200+ USD for 4 nights worth! That’s Paris, NYC, LA, London pricing, not neighborhood pricing in Chicago.

First, the best part-your staff. The ones I can name-Chuck, Racquel, Cornell and everyone else who made me feel so cared for. I travelled partially on my own and for part of the time with family. When I was on my own, the hotel staff were so kind and so very helpful. They are a great bunch of people and Hyatt should be so glad that they are on their team. They did themselves proud.

First the towels were not even up to a cheap motel standard. The smaller ones weren't bad, but the largest ones-threadbare. A hotel of this caliber should have large bath towels. The pillows were like bricks-and felt as if they were filled with straw. And the bedding-while crisp cotton-had a coverlet instead of a duvet, comforter or blanket. The temperature outside was winter-like, and the bed was made with summer in mind. I almost froze-and I'm Canadian!

The staff were lovely, especially the door managers. Chuck was there when we arrived and was super helpful getting our bags and car sorted. He also ran around the neighbourhood helping us find a restaurant. Please commend him on his friendliness and helpfulness. The man who was on our last day (6/13/23) was also amazing. It was 6pm and raining. We couldn’t get a cab or Uber through the usual channels and he rang a taxi driver friend who was there in 5 mins.. exactly the help that makes staying in a hotel preferable to an Airbnb.

The breakfast was a bonus, and everything was laid out nice and neat for easy access with the customers. I liked that there was a pool and workout room. I loved the fact that there are some great attractions and restaurants around that can catch the eye of some tourists.

The pool was very small, and for that reason you had to schedule a time slot to be able to reserve your spot for the designated time for swimming. The parking situation was decent but a little overpriced to my opinion.

It was clean and it was surrounded by a lot of entertaining activities

I didn’t like how small the elevator are. Very tiny. To me only two people but no more than 3 people should be on there. Also the doors slams shut and my party was not paying attention to that. So another customer complained and when the hotel staff came to address us she was not polite and very aggressive . She talked to us like that was her third time warning us or like we gave her attitude.

I've reached a point in my life where I don't have to count every dollar I spend but I resent being tricked/forced into paying additional fees. I wasn't allowed to check in until I paid an additional $75.00 "accessories fee" (that's not the correct term but it's the best I can come up with at the moment). We didn't do anything to incur additional fees but the payment was not refunded to us.

clean. Great location. nice breakfast. most staff were pleasant and helpful.

I was charged for my entire 3 night stay when I checked in and they wouldn’t let me split the charges between 2 credit cards. I then had to use my debit card which was inconvenient for me. I felt like Hyatt considers this a budget property as there were no frills but it was still expensive.

The rooms were nice, the location is great.

One of the hotel staff asked me was my name my “real” name as she was holding my legit driver license in her hand. Then she went in to tell me how the hotel manager told the staff make sure it was my real name before they checked me in. She did say that people reserve rooms under nick names often but in my case you holding my I.D in your hand, plus they had already confirmed my identity the other times I stayed at this hotel. All “shade” to me it was very unprofessional & I was offended by the whole conversation, I entertained it just to say well it is my “real” name so have a nice day people.
