Wingate by Wyndham Gurnee

Very clean location with an indoor pool and good access to the gurnee mills and six flags if that’s your thing. The staff were excellent and really helpful with local tips and advice. Comfortable beds and only service rooms when you ask rather than wasting resources with scheduled services. Excellent value for money given some of the properties we’ve stayed in from Illinois to Florida.

There was nothing bad about the property at all but if you’re wanting to access Chicago, it’s a little far away. It’s doable with a car and/or trains from prairie crossing/grayslakes.

Staff is friendly and incredibly helpful, location was ideal when considering food and entertainment, breakfast had good choices. We had also forgotten our sons blanket after checking out and they were kind enough to call us and let us know and even offered to mail it to our home address.

Room smelt musty when we would first walk in. Our bathroom vent was extremely loud, scared my son when we first turned it on due to the noise. They said they had tried having it fixed but it was something to do with the housing. Our neighbors above us woke us up two out of three mornings before 6AM (not the hotels fault, just irritating). I was bummed that they didn't have a fitness center, and our room was not big enough to try and get a work out in. But that was my own fault for not looking further into facilities!

The staff was pleasant and welcoming, from the front desk to service associates throughout the facility. The breakfast was okay but could be a bit better with more options, but it did satisfy as is.

We had a room that was wheelchair friendly, and in the bathroom shower, the water would roll out of the shower to the entire bathroom floor creating quite the slip hazard. A higher rise to contain the water or even a longer, wider shower curtain could help.

Location is a good place to stay if you want to go the Chicago is you don’t mind a little drive to get there. Basically next door to the mall. Hotel was remodeled since the last time we stayed here. Bed was super comfortable and so where the pillows. Had dehumidifier in the rooms that you have to empty but I found this to be very helpful in sleeping at night so your room and you weren’t sticky from the humidity. If you didn’t want it to run you can easily turn it off. Shower was clean and water pressure was great!

Breakfast was great every day with many choices. The only thing I found was the eggs were just nasty. Didn’t matter at what time you ate breakfast. They looked like they were just sitting there for hours. Our bathroom drain didn’t drain properly, but we notified the front desk. Also found dirty tooth floss under the paper pad by the phone and hair in the drawers.

The location was perfect for my business conference Saturday morning in Round Lake, IL, family shopping time in Gurnee Mills Mall and central location on our way to downtown Chicago! The hot breakfast and the pool hours were excellent!!!

Large puddle caused by melting snow/rain right behind car handicap parking space to the left of the lobby entrance hampered unloading a bit but nothing major.

Check in was super fast and easy, they gave us extra sets of towels for each room due to the number of guests we had too! The staff was so kind and very polite, we stayed here to easily get to the Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin and we will absolutely stay here again if we go next year!

The breakfast was decent don't get me wrong, but the eggs man were so bad. Literally my only complaint!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I went for my son’s Navy graduation and the hotel even Livestreamed the graduation for family members that could not attend. It is also walking distance from the mall, different shopping locations, movies, and lots of restaurants to choose from. 1/2 hour from O’hare airport not too bad. The location is nice. I enjoyed my stay would definitely recommend the hotel.

The pool was opened limited to 12 people in the area at once when I went to the pool me and my family was in there by ourselves the property is right across from the mall and by a lot of restaurants I loved it

What I didnt like was the first room I received me and my momma gotten bitten by something and woke up to red bumps on our body we notified the hotel manager and was accommodated with another room which was good but I do believe that we should’ve also been refunded for that night or discounted on the stay

I love the breakfast every day!!! It was hot and fresh every day!! They have too many items for breakfast and the fresh fruits everyday!!! Coffee and Tea was great!!!! They text me everyday just to make sure if I need anything or any thing they can do for me. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I think they need to get a fitness room. I travel a lot and every hotel that I ever stay has a fitness room to work out. I work out every morning... Just walking .

The room location this time was perfect. The breakfast was great and the coffee was plenty strong.

There were a few loud guests around 11 pm that were highly inconsiderate, not really the hotels fault, just crappy people.
