Elwood Hotel & Suites

I loved the atmosphere and the staff was excellent!! I was there for almost a month and loved every minute!! Again, the staff was worth thier weight in gold. They are awesome!!!

The manager. She was rude as could be. She made many mistakes and I had to pay for them. Not only that, while dealing with a death in family and preparing arrangements with children, while eating breakfast with family to talk things over, she interrupted me 6 times because of an overbooking, the lack of reading and responding to emails, and the fact that she doesn't understand that running a credit card 3-4 times doesn't give you an instant refund. No. It takes 3-10 days to be refunded back onto card. So in turn she maxed out a credit card due to her mistakes. I had a room reserved. I paid alot of money over 3.5 weeks yet I was asked to move rooms....after a hip surgery no less. She is the most arrogant, judgemental, and uncaring person I've ever met.

This is a lovely hotel. We loved the central location. The restaurant and bar on location were quite nice. The room was very clean and the staff very helpful. Though the heat kept us inside, there was a great outdoor area. The manager was gracious and welcoming!

*luggage rack was insufficient to bring in hanging clothes or if you had very much luggage or items to bring in. *would have liked a small dresser or chest with drawer space and some place to put personal items (other than a shelf in the closet) *just a bit unusual to check in at a small counter within the bar and restaurant space and where you had to bring all your luggage/personal items through, to get to the rooms/elevator

The entire place is very *aesthetic*. Lots of modern, tropical design elements and decoration. The room itself is quite spacious with two large TVs and enormous dresser drawers. What stands out is the ground floor entrance which features a full restaurant, nicely-stocked bar, and live music!

The building appears to be a re-purposed apartment complex. This is not a bad thing and means that each suite has tons of space. It is slightly uncomfortable when it comes to the bathroom, however - it's very small and smelled of smoke when we turned on the fan. The water pressure in the shower was lacking, unfortunately.

The breakfast was very good. I had breakfast two or three mornings and it was very good. The hotel itself is small but very cute and modern looking. Everything was clean and the lobby always had a nice smell. The outside seating area is very nice with the fire pits and lighting. The cocktails at the bar were excellent. The room was huge with a small refrigerator and table. Lots of storage space. The soaps and shampoos smell awesome also. The room was also very easy to control the temperature and get the room just the right temperature I wanted each day and night. The workout facility is small but functional. This is a great hotel for a week long business stay.

Bar and restaurant hours could have been a little earlier on opening and a little later on closing. But other than that, I found nothing to complain about.

I absolutely love the wall art, this hotel looks exactly Ike the picture even better in person. The rooms were very spacious AND CLEAN! Most of the staff as very friendly they started having happy hour which is nice and the location is very convenient. Its close to a strip of resturants and very close to downtown. Highly recommend place to stay.

I didnt like that the regular rooms don't have mocrowaves in them. Only the suites do which was weird to me becase we had a steamer but no microwave. Microwaves arent even a luxury item. Also it smells kinda weird in there idk if its the detergent or something but that's nothing a few candels can't fix .

The location, cleanliness, excellent staff, and comfortable, This is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at and I travel a lot because I have kids who are in sports. I love that the actual hotel itself is secure. It was nice to just relax and be comfortable and not have any worries. The room was amazing. It was bigger than most hotel rooms and we didn't feel bunched up because there was plenty of space. The pillows were amazing. The room was super clean. Will be returning to stay at this beautiful place.

My only complaint I would say is there was a refrigerator in our room but there was no microwave. We had food but nowhere to warm it up in our room.

Lovely staff, spotless! Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms. Really comfortable stay in a good location.

We booked a room with a kitchenette, the only downside we had with this hotel is that we werent provided with any cuttlery, bowls, plates etc and we were a little shocked by this, considering we paid more for a kitchenette. We did ask for these things and we got the cuttlery but no bowls or plates 'as directed by management'. This is literally the only negative we had.

The room was very large, clean and stylish.

The AC was hard to get to stay on the temp we set it to and there were no instructions, so it was kind of stuffy in the room. Additionally, there was no fitted sheet on the mattress, only a top sheet used as the base sheet. There was a mattress cover on the mattress but it was on the bottom of the mattress, and didn't zip over the whole mattress so the mattress was exposed underneath the unfitted sheet. This was odd and kind of annoying because the sheet kept moving around and then the pillow was just directly on the mattress. We stayed only one night and the restaurant and bar happened to be closed (sunday evening and monday) which was a shame because we really would have loved to try it - it is very cute!

It was inviting, had tasteful decor and was a unique property. The beds were very comfortable!!

The thermostat in our room did not respond properly to adjusting the temperature. It was too warm most of the night for us. Because of the late hour, we did not call staff to come and fix the thermostat. We did report the issue the next morning. Another issue was the water in the bath/shower. After it was turned on, it would not turn off. We called staff, who came to fix the problem. We could not shower in our room and the staff gave us a room close by to shower in…so we didn’t have to move everything out of our assigned room. The staff was very kind and thoughtful in helping with this…but it was still inconvenient.

I didn’t eat breakfast

The room was very warm and wouldn’t cool off, even after having the temperature all the way down. Which was only to 64 anyway. I can say that when I called about it, the person working the front desk, (I think her name was Remy?) was extremely nice and came up right away to try and help. I will be coming to Lexington at least 10-12 more times this year and for a girl going through menopause, a cool room is a must. These hot flashes are no joke!! 😆
