Courtyard by Marriott Portland Airport

I stayed for one night before an international flight and wished I could have stayed longer because the hotel was so quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. I travel often and have arrived in many hotel rooms that didn't live up to their photos and reviews, so I always keep my expectations moderate, but this place happily exceeded all my expectations. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished, including a cool couch and footrest ideal for reading, a convenient work station for remote work, a lovely bathtub, and a super comfy king-size bed where I slept deeply. I also appreciated the well-equipped fitness room with treadmills, elliptical trainer, and weights. The staff were very welcoming and provided exceptional care and service, including Thecle, who graciously and patiently helped me trouble-shoot a problem with my reservation at check-in (which resulted from my having mistyped my surname when I placed the reservation online) and changed my room to make sure I was placed in the quietest spot possible when I mentioned I'm a light sleeper. The staff at the front desk the next morning, Anna and David, were equally hospitable and helpful. I learned from them that the hotel offers packages for long-term parking plus free airport shuttle when you travel--something I will definitely take them up on in the future!

The room size and layout were very good.

Not having a breakfast buffet was by far the biggest disadvantage - it made the total room rate quite high to have to go out to eat. There were some options being served downstairs, but they were of little use to us.

Host Patrick at the Starbuck's coffee bar made us feel very welcome with his kindness and made some of the best cafe lattes we've had in a long time! The room was quiet and the beds comfortable again and the room spotless, as during the previous stay on the departure end of the trip.

The room was medium size.The bed was nice.I liked the extra table. The bathroom was spacey.

It had no microwave.The TV wasn't good position to look at in bed.

The bistro was good. Patrick serving the coffee and breakfast was fantastic, very friendly. Alice in the evening was super as well. She sometimes had to split her time between the Bistro and check-in but always kept a smile on her face.

It would be nice to have regular maid service. I think it would probably get better if they were not so understaffed.

This hotel was one of the nicest in which we have stayed. Our room was well appointed, The bathroom was great with plenty of light, an easy to access tub/shower with grab bars, Convenient shelving for toiletries. Loved the added touch of the makeup mirror! The decor was pleasant and modern. The check-in, check-out was super efficient, and staff were very friendly.

We did have a noisy guest next to us who played funky music we could hear until almost 1 am. Also, the computers available for airline check in did not function properly.

The room was clean and well appointed. I appreciated the use of recycles, there wasn't the waste that you see in other places, glasses, coffee cups, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Good job!

The room was a little cold until we found the thermostat. That was on us.

The room was so big and clean. The staff were amazing.

Most hotels nowadays offer a continental breakfast. This would have been great to have.

To me the bed was not all that comfortable. I prefer memory foam to springs. Hot tub was permanently closed and pool is very small. no breakfast included and to buy a breakfast sandwich was $9

Great location, lots of parking, nice size rooms that are well decorated, comfortable bed.

The only (minor) things we didn't like were addressed quickly and fairly by the hotel.
