Holiday Inn Express Chelmsford, an IHG Hotel

Everything inside this hotel is very well handled during the Covid-19 disease effects. Staff is extremely helpful and cooperative. Breakfast is fine, choice of room is fine, staff is very responsive. But there are certain workers staying in the hotel who do some sort of work who have their families with them. Never seen this before in over 50 years of hotel stays. Children and spouses of these workers sit outside during the day or in the lobby at night. The location of the hotel near 2 major routes is helpful, but brings the wrong sort of people to the parking lot at night. Staff told us the police drive by several times every night. I'm very uncomfortable with this location and will think again before we travel north again.

Large airy room with excellent wi-fi and air conditioning. Good elevator service. Breakfast on 2 of 3 mornings. Tasty assortment of essentials, but could be accompanied by better. more substantial plastic utensils.

Breakfast on Sunday morning. No oatmeal, strawberry jam, lucky to get last piece of white bread for toast. Desk clerk's disappearance on our arrival for check in. Had to wait more than 10 minutes.

It was nice to have a warm breakfast. English muffins were hard in the package but fine once toasted. Choice was great. The attendant was great with filling items that were being depleted. Room was clean, and it seemed to be updated.

We were on a non-smoking floor, but could smell smoke in the hallway. A large amount of (food) trash was in the hallway for a couple hours. I did call front desk to inform them, and it took another hour or so to remove the food containers. The bathroom faucet was set up so that cold water was on the left, and warm on the right (contrary to usual). It took awhile to figure that out.

They are on dot to knock your door during checkout and check on you like every 10mins although you have informed them about checkout time!

The hotel had a fire so they arranged for me to stay at another hotel. The transition was easy enough. I just showed up at the other motel, gave them my name, and all was taken care of. I was pleased with the way it was handled, and pleased with the other hotel as well.

It was close to the venue for the concert - room was beyond our expectation, very clean and spacious. I accidentally broke my make-up mirror in bathroom, and they were there within minutes to sweep and vacuum!

Not a thing.. everything was really perfect!

Clean and comfortable accommodations. It is worth noting that the bed was extremely comfortable especially the pillows and the sheets were high quality and very soft!

a little hard to find without GPS and they allowed a guest to be very loud at breakfast ordering other guests which way to enter and exit the breakfast room

Breakfast was great and offfering hot food (not just packaged muffins) was a nice surprise.

Too many LOUD raucous children playing tag in the halls, shouting between floors, slamming doors, and generally acting like they were on a playground. Solo adult travelers should be given rooms on a different floor from families with your children.

Welcoming staff, good service, clean facilities. Quiet environment and good value for money. No surprise, true to advert as in breakfast with variety of choices.
