The Cornell Inn

After a long day, it was nice that they offered a glass of sangria in the late afternoon. The location was good for walking into town for dinner, around half a mile to a cluster of nice restaurants in Lenox.

Breakfast was not officially available until after I needed to leave each day. The people in the kitchen were able to provide some food starting an hour ahead of time but it wasn't convenient for them. The "standard" room was pretty tiny. The only lights were spotlights high up on the wall, aimed into your eyes if you lay on the bed trying to read. There wasn't really any other place to read because the only chair was the only place for the excess of bolsters.

The staff, especially Susan and Tess went out of their way to make us comfortable, to chat and ask us if we needed anything multiple times. Lovely to be greeted with an evening drink, and a friendly "hello ." The breakfast was superb, and the deck with the koi pond nearby was beautiful and relaxing. The inn is in a wonderful location, close to town and Berkshire activities.

I would have preferred a larger room, although the finishings on the room were quite lovely. The bathroom sink was also quite slow to drain.

We were greeted in the most welcoming way! The staff at The Cornell are super friendly. EVERYONE is great! I don't think I've ever stayed at a place where every employee is super accomodating. We were given restaurant recommendations and some ideas on cool things to do. Our room was clean, comfortable and decorated beautifully. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. The complimentary mulled cider, cognac and desserts hit the spot. We are planning a trip to the Berkshires in the spring and The Cornell is where we'll be!

The only thing that could use improvement are the pillows.

The Cornell Inn was well located, beautiful, clean, and a very comfortable place to stay. They made the effort to honor our request for two rooms next to each other and even called us to get our input and confirm it All the staff were so welcoming and accommodating, and the service was excellent. We were greeted with hot spiced eggnog and brownies upon arrival and each room had a complimentary bottle of wine. These were both very nice touches that added to a wonderful stay. The homemade breakfast with delicious choices was excellent, and the friendly servers who provided top notch service were much appreciated. We loved our stay at The Cornell Inn and would hope to stay there again sometime.

Outstanding service and amenities. Loved the sangria and local ice cream welcome. The menu for breakfast extensive with a special of the day ( NY style bagel with smoked lox, cream cheese and capers). Such a treat. Complimentary bottle of wine in our room. Gave us an upgrade on the house. Everything...quality and on point. Staff very gracious. Made you feel you were royalty. Very pleased 3 antique beautiful buildings have been lovingly restored. Also loved the waterfall and koi pond complete with water lillies! Staff (Katy) not only verbally shared restaurant choices for dinner but came back to our room with a complete print out of a variety of area restaurants for us to choose from. By far one of the very best B and B experiences we have ever had.

This is not a dislike...however in our room I would have decorated with more antique vs modern fixtures for the bedroom suite for the decor. However overall, beautiful, tasteful and emmaculate.

The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The room was super charming. I loved the breakfast - we ate outside in a very picturesque patio with a waterfall and lots of shade. There were several options for breakfast and it was delicious. They also offered a complementary cocktail upon arriving and every afternoon. Treats were available as well. Just so you know, the view of the property from the street does not do it justice. You need to go into the Inn and then to the back patio to get the full charm of the property.

More space in the bathroom for toiletries would have been nice. On the flip side, it's an old historic building, so some things are not possible.

The Inn was very clean and, although not large, the room had everything we could need. It was in an excellent location for Tanglewood, our reason for coming. The staff was friendly, breakfast was good, and the patio was really lovely.

We had hoped, and assumed, that for the price the Inn would be appropriate for an elderly, although mobile, adult. The staff did help us find an appropriate ground floor room as the stairs to the second floor are narrow and steep (understandable for the age of the building). However, outside, the path to the breakfast patio, was not as smooth as we would have expected and we had to very careful guiding our elderly parent when outside. Additionally, steps up to porches, or from the parking area to the porch, were uneven and difficult for our parent to navigate and see without assistance.

The staff were all so friendly, nice and helpful....and some of them were a lot of fun. The rear of the property where we had our breakfast outside was so beautiful: there was a pond filled with fish, and a waterfall....it was so relaxing. We were greeted with smiles and offered mango sangria and ice cream. There were plates of yummy home made pastries every day, and a cognac tasting one night. The breakfasts, cooked by Ann Marie and Kathleen were super delicious.

I liked the room, but there could have been some improvements. The toilet paper roll holder was in a very inconvenient spot and should be moved....we had to remove the roll off the holder in order to use it. Towel bars were needed to hold the hand towel (should attach it to the sink vanity), and to hold wet towels. I needed a vanity to hold my toiletries....I had to put them on the toilet tank top. Because 3 out of the 5 windows did not have drapes, the sun came in and woke us at 5 AM. There were black-out drapes on 2 out of 5 windows. The clear Lucite table was too narrow to do things on it.

Overall, the interior was beautifully updated, modernized, colorfully and tastefully decorated. The staff was very friendly and accommodating our needs and wishes. The service was impeccable and the breakfast absolutely fantastic. Fresh fruit parfaits, homemade pancakes and waffles, selection of breads, any eggs you wished for, unlimited coffee, juices! We were treated like family and had a wonderful time! We highly recommend this lovely Inn and will definitely return! Thank you!!

Everything was better than expected! Highly recommended for short or long term stays! Book in advance to make sure you'll get your spot!

I surprised my boyfriend and took him here to celebrate his 50th. Not only did it exceed my expectations, but he told me this was the best birthday. The Cornell Inn definitely strongly contributed to his excitement (and mine too!). Kurt and staff were amazing and went the extra mile to make us feel like valued guests. We commented numerous times that when we are back in the area, we will be staying here again! #kindnessmatters
