Berkshire Mountain Lodge

Found this wonderful place to stay when we returned to live in Massachusetts (SW of Boston) and began visiting the Berkshires and attending Tanglewood concerts as well as Plays and Musicals in Theaters nearby (Pittsfield, Great Barrington, and Chatham, NY) throughout the summertime. Don’t forget the world class Museums! And the many retail shoppes along the main road through Lee that can satisfy every shop-a-holic!! Staying at Berkshire Mountain Lodge is like living in your own home - comfortable living area - TV and WIFI plus private bedroom and bath. Having a fully equipped Kitchen allows you to choose to cook breakfast or bring in gourmet restaurant meals is the ULTIMATE!!

Unfortunately as more family’s with active children discover this great place…we have had a visit or two where we found ourselves underneath rooms with very rambunctious kids knocking over things and running about. Perhaps you might consider keeping older couples on the upper floors or separate sections and younger families on the lower levels? Just a thought…

The rooms are the perfect size for a couple. It is convenient to everything you would like to see and do in Pittsfield - Lenox - Great Barrington (Tanglewood, Theaters, Museums, Restaurants, Shopping). Also, having the option to make breakfast in the well outfitted kitchen or picking up take-out for dinner makes it feel like home. We have had our adult daughter visit us unexpectedly when we already planned a weekend trip to western Massachusetts so having the separate private bedroom and a dining/living room with an addt'l bed (which is a pull out sofa) was comfortable enough for our 6 ft. guest.

Honestly do not have anything negative to say about Berkshire Mountain Lodge. It was a secret gem we found about 6 years ago when we first began to attend Pop and BSO concerts at Tanglewood. Affordable and convenient and so well managed that we were very comfortable visiting during 2020 and 2021 (even though Tanglewood postponed their summer concert season for 2 years). Primarily it was because of the Berkshire's COVID Protocols in place at the property which allowed us to get away and have a vacation during the pandemic.

Our room was laid out well. Liked the kitchenette, it was stocked with dishes and pans, full size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and coffeemaker (not k-cup style). There is a table and chairs for dining. Bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and plenty of towels were supplied. There is a television in the living room area and in the bedroom. The staff does not bother with your room unless you have need of towels or to have your trash taken away. There is a laundry room on each floor (bring your own detergent). Conveniently located across from grocery store.

There is only one working elevator to service four floors (we just used the stairs). Safety concerns --- several smoke detectors just hanging from the ceiling in the hallway on second floor. Also, a huge safety and liability issue is the not well lit parking lot and driveway. There are lights, but they only light around the poles!!

Our suite was very spacious and clean. The property is located adjacent to a major thoroughfare and has a supermarket directly across the street. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I specifically had interactions with Al and Anna. I know that this is an odd point, but unlike most hotels I have stayed at, the stairwells in this establishment were clean and well maintained, an afterthought at most other properties. Well done!

Only one elevator was operational ( I was told it had been down for months). The room could use a bit of freshening-up in regard to the kitchen area specifically. And this one is probably my own fault, but upon our late arrival, I found myself wandering the halls looking for a means of egress back out to the parking lot. Every exit sign I followed seemed to lead to an alarmed door. Once I figured out that the second floor is actually the ground floor, all was good.

Liked having a full kitchen with separate bedroom. The villa was spacious and a pleasant surprise over what we expected. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Loved the 24 hour complimentary beverages in the lobby. The location provided a great place to chill. Views were nice. We will definitely consider staying at this resort again.

The couch was uncomfortable in all aspects. It made a tremendous amount of noise just from sitting on it. There was little support for sitting. Has probably exceeded it's useful lifetime. The TV remote was difficult to use with a poor selection of channels. Using the DVD player in the room took a major effort on the part of an advanced degree engineer. Instructions were poor. INTERNET speed in the facility appeared to be capped at 4 Mbps. Horrendously slow! Impossible to use for streaming.

Great location in a quiet and convenient place, next to Stop & Shop, so you buy what you will eat in the suite. The bed in the bedroom is excellent. The sofa bed has a sofa-bed sleep quality. The room has a bathtub which is very pleasant. Overall a great spacious room with excellent cooking equipment for a casual stay of a few days. Extremely comfortable!

WiFi is quite slow. Water is cold in the pool, and the hot tub is outside - extreme fun not for older folks, especially that you'll have to run from it to the warm area through the cold open air. Blankets and bed linen are all synthetic, we bring our own for full comfort. However for the price it was all an astonishingly great deal.

Comfortable stay and well equipped, particularly the kitchen. Very easy to cook a decent meal!

Noisy! I’ve honestly never stayed in accommodation with such poor noise insulation. We were on the ground floor and had someone staying above us - sounded like a tribe of elephants with more than just footsteps! Could also hear the plumbing (yes, showers and toilets) from other rooms too.

VERY spacious accommodation - I lived in apartments that were quite a bit smaller. Nice little amenities like dishwashing soap, salt and pepper, eating utensils, etc

Unfortunately, a very odd smell which I noticed immediately upon entering and just as fast didn't notice any more. Cause unknown - probably something someone cooked. Loudest refrigerator ever

Room had full kitchen and full size fridge . Cocoa and coffee in lobby. Clean and cozy hotel

Only thing is room 227 by the elevator you can hear all the water and flushing behind the walls which woke me up everytime someone flushed e toilet because you can really hear the water coming down like a waterfalls
