DoubleTree by Hilton Hattiesburg, MS

I di not eat breakfast. The location was perfect for the conference at the Convention Center. The atmosphere was great. I was able to walk around the premises. Even though the pool was out of season, I am interested in staying again to enjoy the pools. The management staff changed my room the next day and it was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The warm cookies were delicious. Parking was easy to find and plentiful. Access to the hotel was well lit and plentiful. I enjoyed my stay.

The toilet in my room did not work. I had to use the restroom downstairs. No rooms were available for a change in rooms. A child pulled the fire alarm at 12:00 in the middle of the night. This caused us to evacuate our rooms and report to the lobby. (Really a meet and greet time.) The man next door was snoring so loud, I had to block him out.

The location was perfect. Right off the interstate and in an area with plenty of restaurants, gas stations, and other services. I had an initial issue with a room with was immediately resolved to another room. The staff was exceptional in their friendliness and customer service. The room was very clean and spacious. It was a WONDERFUL experience.

I have no complaints.

The booking through booking.com leads you to believe that the breakfast was free and included. It didn't indicate it was made to order. The next is that the made to order meal was cold. The server said she would heat it up, but I didn't trust that. She was nice. As travelers, we know things may have changed because of COVID, however if free breakfast is important for a traveling family they should know ahead of time. It was okay with me I was traveling alone

The majority of the staff was amazing! The GM was amazing at meeting the needs of her guests and finding solutions that fix immediate and unforeseen issues! Her staff was amazing and she has trained her staff to handle pressure! They respect her leadership and it shows in the condition of the property!

Compared to your next door neighbor a much better stay. The halls were well lite and felt secure. The elevators was quick and clean, the panel was clean. The staff were courteous and very friendly

There were no luggage carts when I departed, not because the guest were using them, but there was paper products on them, during the peak check out time when peoplee needed them, the staff were using them as utility carts, making them unavailable to the guests. No trash cans out front, for our conveinence.

Super clean room. I am super OCD about cleanliness, and am always reluctant to stay in hotels. I even check for bed bugs before I put anything on the bed. I was very impressed. Great job!

Minor issue that was reported to maintenance upon check out. The night I stayed there was severe weather moving through the area. The rain and wind was very heavy and hitting the window directly, and some rain came through the window. I placed a towel on the window sill, which prevented water from reaching the a/c and carpet.

I was first put in a room with a shower only option that I did not care for. The staff was able to move me to a room with a bath. Perhaps let the guest have the option so relocation doesn’t have to happen.

I enjoyed the stay. I think bottle water should be provided if you are providing coffee and brewer in-room. Mississippi has a water problem..and I don’t drink the water.

Outstanding location, and bed was great…Hallway smell better than normal. Usually had a wet carpet smell.

the shower in room 315 needed a little TLC. mold in the caulking and fixtures and glass showed lack of good upkeep

I could tell the hotel was understaffed and not quite prepared for the influx of Hurricane evacuees but all of them were very kind and accommodating to those of us evacuated for Hurricane Laura. Every staff member I encountered (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant waitress, manager) was pleasant, helpful, and understanding of our situation. They accommodated our dog. There is a washer and dryer available. There is a basketball court. There is a restaurant. There is a pool. There are food items to purchase in the Lobby.

It took $4 in quarters to use the washer and dryer and a one time packet of detergent was another $1. Rooms with kitchenettes could use a larger trash can for waste disposal.
