Hilton Kansas City Country Club Plaza

Came to KC for a few days with my spouse and 2 year old. We really enjoyed the big pool (outdoor and indoor) and even had it to ourselves one day. Breakfast buffet had lots of options that we all enjoyed - a variety of hot and cold/sweet and savory. Staff was friendly and attentive when we needed more towels or needed to empty our trash. Parking is in their own parking garage attached to the hotel. Bed was comfortable and room felt spacious (king studio suite). The location is close to the Crown Center and lots of walkable shopping (mostly clothing stores) nearby.

We booked and paid for a 1 bedroom king suite (with a separate room) but when we arrived, we were told this room type was sold out. This was a bummer as we very specifically planned this room type because of our two year old. They were professional about it and comped our parking, but it was kind of a let down because we wanted the extra space.

The design of the room was very comfortable. It felt open and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable. There are plenty of outlets everywhere you want one. Never had to hunt for one or use extension cords. Duel cup coffee maker was nice. The large flat screen TV that swiveled so you could watch it in bed or in the sitting area was a really nice design.

The only thing that I didn't care for was the refillable soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower. No way to know what was actually in the dispensers or who all used them and how old the contents were. It's unfortunate, but you have to worry about someone tampering with the contents these days. I am glad that we brought our own toiletries.

Location was nice. Valet staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the bar area. Room itself was lovely and the bed was so comfortable.

The floor we were staying on experience a burst pipe or something. The halls smelled terribly of mold and moisture. The floor by the area took on a lot of water and no efforts appeared to be made to warn guests or remedy the situation. It was pretty gross. Fortunately, the smell/odor couldn’t be detected in our room. However, the bathroom in our room smelled of sewer gas when we’d run the sink faucet and the toilet looked like it was on its last stay.

this was the perfect spot for me and hubby to get away. the staff was incredibly friendly and greeted us promptly every time we were within 5 feet.

I didn’t like how my billing got messed up and it looked like I didn’t pay for my room service charges. I work in a hotel and I know what it feels like when guest don’t pay so I never want to be that person. when I called to try and make it right the lady on the phone did not give good customer service. however, this will not stop me from staying again, I just wish I was told before I left that I had a balance due and my receipt didn’t say “$0”

the room was comfortable and allowed space for a few people to talk in the sitting area while another watched TV. My party LOVED the location which allowed us to WALK anywhere we wanted to go on the KC PLAZA. Two of my friends have never stayed with Hilton at this location and they are FOR SURE using YOUR HOTEL on their next trips!! THEY LOVED IT! And the Plaza lights were still on so another unexpected treat from our window!!

only issue was that this is the 3rd time staying and the garage elevator was being fixed EVERY STAY. Luckly, my party walked from the lobby to our car with no issues. Loved being able to park my car and then walk to restaurants and shopping on the plaza without having to drive!!

Great location for plaza access. Remodel was well done and the room was comfortable.

No exhaust fans in bathrooms leads to a very humid shower! Problems with the internet system, TV is all streaming and would not connect until they worked on it for a few hours. There is free basic wifi, and an extra charge of $5 per day for decent upgraded wifi. Never seen that at any other hotel I have stayed at. Penny pinching really…

Great location, parking was onsite. We did have to pay pero day or use the Valet Parking. But I didn’t mind. Usually big Cities have a valet option or you have to find parking elsewhere. I liked the idea the parking was onsite for this hotel.

Everything was clean. The only thing I would have liked would be for the toilet to either be deep cleaned or replaced. the toilet itself was very badly stained it just looked gross. I’m sure it was cleaned prior to us however, it’s just very stained already.

we’ve stayed here multiple times, back when it was the Sheraton. this was our first stay since it transitioned to the Hilton and we had a great time.

we were disappointed that the French doors are no longer there in the suites dividing the living room from the bedroom. we come as a family of four and we were under the impression the room still had the doors. and the bathroom door only opened from one side. that wAs super annoying too for traffic flow with four of us in the room.

The room was in a wonderful location We could not hear the street. Dumpsters tainted the view from the window as the renovation was underway. But a nice view of the hilltop apartments.

There was very little space in the front of the hotel entrance was very tight. It was hard to get by if there were more than two or three cars. While having a small space encourages you to use the valet, it was difficult to pick up guests waiting at the door because it was not enough space to just drive through.

One of my favorite hotels in the USA. Always a great pleasure to stay here.

the significant disadvantages of this hotel are the expensive breakfast and hundreds of people who come to the pool and the pool becomes muddy and dirty. I'm not sure that all these people are hotel guests. There is a suspicion that the locals booked one room and brought all the neighbors there. I would really like the hotel management to pay attention to this.
