Excellent location, grounds, and common interior spaces. Good room and luxurious bathroom.

Toilet in room was a little strange and could have used a real door for acoustic purposes. A refrigerator would have been nice - maybe near coffee bar or butler's pantry? Coffee machine was kinda sad. Convenient but didn't quite live up to the rest of the hotel.

We arrived later than we’d originally indicated and I was completely disorganized. I’m not sure where my brain was, but I completely forgot to check my email for access codes, etc..and went directly to the entrance. Unsurprisingly, we couldn’t get in and instead of checking my email first, I called the # provided above the key pad to get help. It was after 11pm, def not an ok time to call anyone. Ryan was extremely patient, kind and helpful as he asked me if I had the codes - and then stayed on the phone w/me as I figured out to (DUH!) check my email and enter the access codes that we’re provided. Thank you Ryan 🙏

This location is perfect. It’s in the museum/arts district, walking distance from The Plaza and Hyde Park. The interior design aesthetic is lovely and you can tell the owners thoughtfully planned every detail. Bonus: the mattress was the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on! I want to buy one for my own home. The contactless check in was a breeze, because the owners sent a comprehensive email with the codes for both the main property and the building where my room was located. They also kindly upgraded me to a king suite when we chatted about payment. I really appreciated that!

Incredibly minor, but I only wish there had been a hook for a hand towel next to the sink.

I'd never been to Kansas City and hoped the neighborhood was nice. It was the BEST! I loved the area, and its proximity to great restaurants and beautiful architecture. I also arrived dog tired from a long flight, and slept 10 hours, uninterrupted in a comfy bed with dark and quiet all around. What I liked best, though, was Ryan and David, who run the place. They were super responsive to the details that I thought needed fixing (described below), and I have every confidence that the next time I go there, things will be even better. It was also a sweet gesture to find a box of chocolates and note on the bed upon my arrival. Oh, and that shower is wonderful!

The hosts need to (and said they will) fix the curtains so they're easier to move, and let in more light. They'll also put a light in the hallway because it was a little hard to see the keypad for my room. But I only speak about my first floor room; the second floor looks very bright and airy.

It's literally the best place to stay in KC! Ryan is always super friendly and helpful. The beds and bathrooms are my absolute favorite part. Those sheets are so freaking comfortable, and their showers make me so jealous 😂 Oh my goodness, I love everything about this place.

It's not really a dislike, but just note: no fridge in room or laundry on site. They do put in their note to ask if you need to store something, but I'm not sure if that means refrigeration or laundry, too. We've never had to ask. Parking can be a tight squeeze, but they outline all your options, too, so it should be okay. Just FYI, in case you're in a bigger vehicle. Seriously though, no complaints at all from me.

It was beautifully decorated, the lobby ambiance was great with the music and scent. Thoughtful amenities everywhere. Great snack selection in the room. It was a luxurious experience. Also, it was contactless so I never saw the staff but every email or call was answered quickly so I had no problems.

It’s an older building so the floorboards were loud all over and you could hear street noise and dogs from the next building HOWEVER they had a sound machine in the room and I used that and slept through the night with no issues. I didn’t see it for my quick snooze at 4pm so sirens & dogs woke me up.

My boyfriend and I were blown away with how nice and homey our stay was. The room was amazing and we felt like it was just us, even though others were staying at the same time as us- there were little to no interaction or interruptions.

I wish the check in process was a little bit easier. I booked via booking.com with my credit card but i received a call from one of the owners stating they needed my CC info to complete the booking and check me in... i was insanely confused but they made it a speedy process.

it was very pretty and the room was great. there was a cute little seating area outside and two inside.

the main place is very squeaky and the snacks are way over priced. their parking is really small, and you can hear the other guests very easily from your room.

The Truitt is impeccably decorated. We were blown away by how thoughtfully everything was arranged and we wanted to own every piece of furniture in the place ourselves. Absolutely beautiful. Flawless even. Our room was perfect and the Christopher Elbow chocolates were a delightful surprise. The location was perfect for us art nerds who wanted to be able to walk to the museums. We will definitely be back when we come through Kansas City again.

We arrived on a very hot day and our room was pretty warm initially and was slow to cool down. As it is an old house we didn't have climate control in the individual rooms.

The Truitt was a great place to stay. Extra effort made toward the details.

Our only issue was no hot water. We didn’t take a shower till early morning as we were leaving. I texted the owner and they reacted very fast. We had cold showers but the shower was beautiful.
