Red Lion Hotel Kalispell

This was my second stay and it will be on my first choice list for a long time. The check-in woman Danny was phenomenal. My 1st stay was in a ada shower room and we liked it so much I had written them asking them to change this stay to an ada and they said no problem. I was wondering if that would show on my reservation and when they gave me the exact same room I was thrilled. This is what you call exceptional customer service and is the reason my next visit to Kalispell will be at the Red Lion. Keep up the good work!

Nothing. Maybe more businesses in the mall but that has nothing to do with the hotel.

The atrium was beautiful, the front entrance decor was nicely rustic. The room was larger than normal and the lamps in the rooms looked new and had a Montana wildlife motif. The wall of windows on our room gave us various views. I like older places like this, they seem to have more personality.

The attached mall was pretty much closed by six pm and most of the stores were closed permanently. It was a little sad to watch the end of malls. Perhaps the carpet could use a little updating but the bottom line is the place was great and I cannot wait to stay there again. I have reservations in February and look forward to staying there again.

I stay in a lot of hotels for work this was by far the best stay. We planned our trip to pickup last minute Christmas supplies and gifts you just can’t find in Canada. I was concerned it wasn’t closer to the stores we wanted to visit but that was a blessing in surprise. I found the closer hotels attracted a less savoury crowd and the commute was only minutes, plus it’s attached to a mall I didn’t read that in the description how convenient! Speaking of convenient ...the 22 seconds it took to walk across the parking lot to Starbucks kept us well caffeinated. The stress of driving through the mountain pass in winter melted away once we were in our quiet, clean, warm room we’ll definitely stay here again maybe in summer though 😁

I wanted to write something rather meaningless in here because I get sceptical of really good reviews but I can’t think of how the hotel could’ve made my stay any better Oh maybe fish in the water feature...... never mind I don’t want to smell fish at breakfast

1.We liked our room location. It was quiet 2.The breakfast was really good. Lot of options. 3. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly

1.The coffee. 2.Seeing garbage cans outside overflowing with additional garbage bags next to it. Doesn't send a good first impression. 3. Carpet in stairwell and first floor very worn. 4.Having the pool closed for a few days which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

There wasn't anything left for our first morning Breakfast. The second morning a Staff Member advised us to wait for 5 minutes and they would at least have some fresh scrambled eggs. We did and it was much better. We were down for Breakfast at 8:25 A.M.

It would have been a better breakfast if there would have been bacon served rather that pork sausages. Bacon has flavor but the sausages- none. Some visitors already get sausage Gravey and biscuits, so why sausages again as a meat?

I actually was able to sleep, this is particularly hard for me in hotels as thin walls are typical. One thing I have liked about Red Lions is good insulation typically brick construction so its nice and quiet. Thanks

The guy that checked me in charged me twice, I think he needs a little more training. The lady I called to and fix it has a wonderful voice though and handled it that day which I appreciated, most hotels take a week or so.

We loved the pool area and the courtyard with the fire pit was a great bonus! It was also great to have the breakfast included when you have a large family/group to accommodate. clean rooms and the staff were able to assist in getting adjoining rooms.

The hot tubs were out of service, which we were looking forward to. The check-in process was a little frustrating, because we received different explanations as to why, I, who reserved and paid for the rooms, couldn’t get the keys for both rooms. I had put my brother’s name on it, since he was staying in the room, and they said he would get the keys with checking in. however, I was called back to the desk to verify the reservation and show my ID as well and sign the waiver.

They have an outdoor courtyard space with chairs, a fire pit and tables. They have 2 indoor spaces. The pool was quite a good size with lounging chairs so our family could also talk while the kids swam. Good beds, good size rooms with suitcase racks. We had an adjoining room that was really nice for our family.

We didn't stay long enough to note anything particular to improve so everything was quite smooth. We chose the location being easy to get to the airport for an early flight on our departure morning. The price was more expensive than we generally book though hitting a summer rate and covid precautions made it exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised with the adjoining room option, the pool to be open and that the large courtyard gave some outside space on a beautiful afternoon in the fading summer daylight.

Great location downtown. Exceptional breakfast. Comfortable bed and room amenities. Close to restaurant choices. Plenty of parking spaces.

Transitioning neighborhood and adjoining road construction was slightly annoying, but perhaps symptomatic of economy.

Very quiet. Very clean. Location was so central to all my activities.

The parking lot entrance was full of deep pot holes. More likely a condition caused by the lack of upkeep by the declining Mall adjacent to the hotel.
