Exeter Inn

A charming, conveniently-located, comfortable, well-maintained hotel. This was my second stay. The continental breakfast was quite ample, and the hotel restaurant, where I had dinner, had a good menu and was not too expensive. The space in my room on this, my second stay, was a bit spare in comparison with my first stay.

There was a surprise of an additional $10 on my bill over what the original booking indicated due to a local facilities fee. The original booking included an amount for tax, but did not indicate that there would be this additional fee.

Lovely location and property. Staff was friendly and helpful even though spread quite thin. Easy walk to downtown and the surrounding neighborhood was lovely and quiet. The garden and outside areas were well kept. Nice option for a restaurant on site too.

the mattress really needed an update. It was so broken down in the middle an uncomfortable. The sink didn't drain well and the shower had this odd opening that sprayed water all over the floor.

Nice hotel, very cool decor - not too far from where I needed to be (concert at Casino Ballroom) which worked out pretty well.

My only complaint was that the window with the AC unit (which worked wonderfully) didn't have strings for the blinds to go down further...which left a few inches of open window available. Not that people want to look at me in my hotel room, but it was a little weird.

It was walking distance to the town center. They have EV charging stations. We liked our room. There was coffee and cold breakfast every morning.

One of the joys of staying in a hotel is getting clean sheets, nicely made bed, and fresh towels. But there was no daily housekeeping for stays less that four days.

the rooms were very clean and modernized with very fresh bedding and pillows. Also the continental breakfast was ready earlier than the posted time and that really helped me out.

the main building is older which is not a problem but there was a faint odor that I didn't really like - but I would stay there again I bet new rugs would totally fix that issue.

The architecture was beautiful.

Wish you had the EXTRAS on the brochure- You can have a refrigerator but you have to ask for one ahead of time. They ran out quickly! Also more ice buckets would be great. Should be enough for each room. It should also say the breakfast is only a continental at best.

The hotel was clean and beautiful. Lovely decor, clean, very comfortable bed and the shower pressure was amazing! It was also a very quiet inn, there was a wedding happening on our first night but we heard very little noise.

My only complaint would be the shower flooded our bathroom floor because of the whole in the glass half door if was difficult to not have water pouring out onto the floor.

Breakfast was a nice surprise. Light but good quality! Building in great shape for an old building!

We can in a heat wave - so unusual - but room settings for temperature control didn’t address needs of a hot climate. Room just too warm especially at night. Given too it’s an old building and hard to address such things!

Location, rooms, price were great. Bar, restaurant and staff were even better. Could have better options for breakfast and probably even charge for it.

Breakfast options. Could expand on that but also not a huge deal.

This is a classy inn right in the center of town. It is a short walk to shops, restaurants, coffee shops and one fantastic bookstore. The staff is professional and very welcoming. Our king bed room with was VERY clean and the bathroom.fixtures are new.
