Perfect location within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Parking available on site. Very good communication with guests through the booking.com portal via Email. The place itself was very clean and neatly decorated. The room was a little small - it was difficult to open two large suitcases but absolutely manageable.

There was nothing to complain! Everything was in order. We though did not have any contact with staff as we arrived late and were on the road again rather early.

Location is perfect: right in the middle of town. The building feels historical but the rooms are all updated and clean. The innkeepers are super nice and make you feel special during your stay. I also loved how quiet it felt, my boyfriend and I felt like we were alone there.

Wonderful location, close to everything. Charming historic building with enough modern upgrades. Really like the coffee and snack facilities and common room. Keyless checkin and access very convenient

Had a first floor room in the front. Was very noisy since they were doing construction across the street.

Everything about this place is great. The location right near town is perfect. You can walk to almost everything. The old building is very charming & has been well maintained & updated to provide great accommodations. The common areas are well appointed & the check in & out process is very efficient & convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by this place & would highly recommend.

Very centrally located in downtown Portsmouth, but away from the noise of the bars and restaurants. The room was lovely - comfortable bed, nice furnishings, clean bathroom. There were free snacks and beverages, including tea and coffee, and free toiletries like earplugs.

Our room (3) was located adjacent to the snack/common area, and the walls are thin (pretty common for a 19th century building!). However our fellow guests quieted down well before we went to sleep so it wasn't much of an issue.

Beautiful antique colonial house. Close to downtown and Strawberry Bank. Close to good restaurants. Come and go easily. Staff, especially Robin, were wonderful and chatty.

I would have liked antique or reproduction antique furnishings to go with the antique architecture and to make the ambiance consistent.

A recently renovated historical home in the heart of Portsmouth, the Sailmaker's House was a great place to spend a few nights. Checking in with keypads was easy and the amenities were surprisingly superior (real wine glasses, corkscrew, high-end soaps, plush towels, snacks, and Keurig Coffee machine in foyer). Our first-floor room was small but very clean and the bed was comfortable. We requested a late checkout and the manager was very understanding and responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous Inn, fantastic area for walkable visits to public gardens, restaurants, shopping. Immaculate city, room was exceptional and offerings in lobby were very nice touch. Staff was wonderful.

Without a fridge we brought coolers, but not enough ice available to keep things cold for the stay.

A lovely boutique hotel, situated just a couple of streets away from the shops and cafes of Portsmouth. Beautifully decorated, comfortable bed. A warm welcome. Hot and cold drinks and snacks available in the foyer.

No breakfast offered. Excellent location.

Wished there was a seat or ledge in shower stall to prop your leg on for washing/shaving legs.
