Quality Inn Hyde Park Poughkeepsie North

The location was perfect for my trip. The room was cleaned up every day very well. Beds were very comfortable.

My confirmation specifically included breakfast. I understand there are limitations these days and in other hotels they either gave out pre-packaged bags with breakfast items or had staff give food. But to tell me there's no breakfast at all while it clearly stated breakfast included is not a good service. Also backdoor from the parking lot had a broken lock so anyone could walk in. While the other door would not read my room key. So I had to use the one that was broken to avoid going around through the main entrance while my room was in the back. Also the fridge was unplugged and we didn't realize until we had throw away food.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable! Room was clean. Good breakfast. Liked the waffle maker. Also the view out the back was to a row of bushes and trees which was not at a vista, but at least private.

The walls and floors are thin. I was on an end room and could still hear the people next to me and above me stomping around. Smelled light cigarette smoke early in the morning but it went away quickly both times. I was too tired to complain about it. The shower was way too high and tricky to use. You had to pull down the tub spigot for the shower and the water/temp control made no sense. It was single lever ball joint that had no indication of hot cold on or off.

The self-serve breakfast gave us varied options and was surprisingly good! We liked not having to wait for someone to take our order. The staff monitored the hot food supply to ensure that the hot food was both hot and in good supply.

The visible mold/ water damage along the wall adjacent to the bathroom shower was the only downside to an otherwise positive experience.

The staff was very friendly. The place was very clean. It was convenient for my stay.

There was NO handicap parking in front and only 5-6 parking spots in front. Otherwise you had to park around back. 2 out of the 3 nights that we were there our cable went out and the young lady at the desk had to come and reset it, 20 or so minutes to get to programming.

Excellent location - across the street and a brief walk to the FDR library and home., and next to the drive-in movie that is across from the FDR property, The area has no upscale hotels. motels. This property is probably the best place in town. While we were there, the property was still in a semi-pandemic mode. At least there was something for breakfast. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave oven. The bathroom and shower had all the best features. Direct-TV was ok and the 43-inch (or so) television was just fine,

The lack of electrical outlets in the room was noticeable, especially, As a workaround, bring a 10-foot extension cord with you., or charge your laptop in one part of the room and then use it at the desk. The dark carpets are in good shape but dark.

Room was spacious although I could not find the clothes closet! I was only staying one night so it wasn't an issue. A hot breakfast was a pleasant surprise.

Although I was in a non-smoking room, there was a distinct and heavy smell of smoke in the hallway.

the very friendly staff at the front desk provided information proactively and also answered our questions promptly and efficiently. The daily room cleaning is a treat these days and was done to fit into our schedule. The bed was comfortable, and everything in the room was clean and worked well. Our room was also quiet. Compared with other rooms we have stayed in, this was simpler, but a real steal!

It would be wonderful if there was also a guest laundry.

The bed was comfortable. I requested to be as far away from others as possible. I was placed on floor one in the middle of a mess of people. I went back out to the desk and asked to be moved. No problem! I moved to the second floor. It was nice and quiet.

I work in a jail; so, I like good security. Neither room had locks on the windows. The second floor was much more suitable. I would really consider putting locks on the windows for everyone's safety. I always bring things to protect myself; so, I was quite content.

Room was clean and serviced daily even though they were short staffed. Buffet breakfast was provided but limited and we were required to take it to our rooms for social distancing.

The room was quite small. There wasn't enough room to walk around the bed if my husband was sitting at the desk. The lighting wasn't really adequate for reading. There wasn't a table which was inconvenient since we had to take breakfast back to our room due to Covid restrictions.

Location was absolutely PERFECT for my needs. I was coming to Hyde Park to check out the 3 National Park Units and the hotel was just about across the street from the FDR site. The pillows were also super comfy, and I really appreciated that the staff kept my bags at the front desk until later in the day.

There is no elevator on site, which makes lugging bags up to the second floor difficult.
