Lakeside Resort

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. King bed was very comfortable. Kitchen had all we needed to store food and cook light meals. The grounds were beautiful and spacious with a nice view and perfect for us and our dogs. Restaurant was very good and well priced. Check in/out was easy and loved the keyless door. Location was close to town but far enough to be away from the noise and crowd. The trail on the grounds was short but cute and a good was to walk the dogs.

Want to mention we had cabin 39 which was closest to Lake and that these are just our opinions and not dislikes. The cabin was nice but would have preferred a more comfortable sitting area in room and a better setup to store clothes and belongings. Would liked to have had a firepit and barbecue to enjoy our outside experience even more. No heat in bathroom or I didn't understand how to work it. No access to Lake from this property.

Excellent staff, superb view of the lake, super comfortable bed. I loved the breakfast meal we had before we left and food prices were very reasonable. Location was great and only a few minutes from the hiking trails we wanted to check out. Overall, I am very pleased and I would definitely like to return next time and bring my dog.

The shower floor was crazy slippery when wet. I think this was mentioned somewhere in the room and I was glad I knew ahead of time. Still seems like a hazard. Also, I did not appreciate the powdered coffee creamer but a small inconvenience…I could have brought my own.

Lovely view, friendly staff, delicious food, PLUS an amiable, resident chocolate lab named Rocky. What more could anyone ask for? Oh! And in case you've never been to Watkins Glen State Park - 1. GO! 2. Park at the "north" or Upper Entrance and walk DOWN the gorge. Then take shuttle or Uber back up to your car. :-) Shuttle is generally only available on weekends during the school year so maybe double check on that, and/or arrange your Uber way in advance.

We booked through booking.com and it really isn't clear which cabin you're getting. We wound up with cabin 18 - which looks like it's one of the cabins that's actually attached to one other cabin, and literally you could hit the main building with an unhand toss of a rock. We ran the fan of the air conditioner so weren't bothered much by cars in and out etc, but just fair warning. Their website does have a map of the layout of the property so maybe request a specific cabin when booking in case you get lucky. I'll try to attach as well

Very clean and comfortable cabin, we chose to eat in because it was so nice! Even in January the view of the lake was beautiful. We've been there before and I'm sure we'll be back again.

There was nothing we didn't like but I think it should be clear this is a very very pet friendly place, less friendly for taking small children.

Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the room was enough for the two of us. The shower was large and had toiletries in case we forgot. There was plenty of towels on hand for our needs. The next morning we had breakfast in the bistro. It was very good and was filling. I would recommend and wish we had enough time to have dinner there also. I also forgot something in the room after we left. They were nice enough to call us and let us know and was willing to ship the item! It was so nice of them. I thought my item was lost forever!

The only thing I would change, is the fire pit. It was lovely to have the ability to sit by the fire on a brisk fall evening but there were several people that decided to stay up til around 1 am. It appeared to be a family/ reunion. They were not difficult, they were just having a really good time together. I think it was wonderful that they had the opportunity to stay up late and catch up. Just wish maybe the fire pit was not so close to our room ..... maybe move it down the property a little bit ;)

Lovely venue, beautiful view of Seneca Lake. Cabin was spacious, beds were comfortable, shower was amazing, 5 stars! Restaurant was great, convenient, and food was top-notch. And they serve beer, wine, and cocktails. They recommended a local ride service as Uber is unreliable there. He was fantastic. Great location, halfway between town of Watkins Glen and some great wineries and an amazing brewery (Seneca Lake Brewing/Beerocracy). Staff was helpful and pleasant. And Rocky the chill brown Labrador dog was icing on the cake.

Really, no complaints. Nothing was wrong AT ALL.

We loved the staff (Mandie, Nicole, Jen) and I cannot forget the Lakeside Mascot - ROCKY!!! ;) The owner Mel is not only hands on but super friendly. The Bistro is AMAZING - the chefs have very gifted hands and minds. The food surpassed our imagination. The overall setup were SPOT ON & BRILLIANT!! We loved it so much that we reserved 4 rooms for August. We came from NYC - it was a very long ride but they made our vacation memorable. oh and the super best part -THEY ARE DOG FRIENDLY. HUGS .. They get a 5+ stars .. We HIGHLY recommend!! See everyone in a few months - be safe and well!

The pillows and beds are super soft, so sleeping was not fantastic and you can hear through the walls. But didn't stop us from loving the place at all.

loved the attached cabins, spacious & 2 sinks. nice feeling of space with vaulted ceilings. our view was of woods & serene feeling. the resort lawn & acreage was spacious & huge. the nearby waking trail along the creek was nice. the bistro restaurant had a lovely variety of choices. the resort didn’t offer any amenities other than a fire pit. they should have a play area for kids & a corn hole or bocce ball game area.

the resort is dog friendly. u do looks dogs but the resort dog roaming on outdoor deck when we were eating & he sat right in front of our table. the next day saw the dog inside the bistro restaurant area.

The overall experience was wonderful. We were happy and so was our dog. The room was clean - the bedding was clean. We had the smaller cabin since the others were sold out and we were fine. We would definitely stay again but reserve the larger separate cabins. They even leave a extra sheets for dog and a bowl and bags - thoughtful.

They need hooks for the towels in the bathroom. Our waiter was great at the restaurant - everyone was so nice. The food was okay, but we didn't plan on going back only because we wanted to try other places, but sitting outside on the porch was really lovely!

Very pet friendly place and the staff was great! At the bistro they have a tasty menu and a good choice of local libations! We got to meet the friendly resident dog who took us through the property's hiking trail to the water fall. Great view off of the lake towards the end of the day and the staff sets up a fire pit to unwind, meet and chat with other guest. We would definitely recommend this beautiful place!

The room had a strong smell of cleaning agents. But at least you know they cleaned the room.
