Hampton Inn & Suites Yonkers - Westchester

This comment is not directly about the property. During the first few days of our stay there was a group, perhaps a large family in the pool area that were quite rambunctious even allowing individuals who clearly did not have a booked room into the area. I travel with small children (1yr old & 3yr old) so this raised an eyebrow about general hotel safety. I will also say that I've stayed in this hotel more than once now and will plan to in the future because I like the hotel, the staff are very welcoming and attentive and the location is great when traveling from upstate NY to Manhattan area.

Breakfast….no cups for coffee or juice,, big gaps in food put out like cupcakes. No cleaning up of tables. Looked like a lack of breakfast staff. A/C unit was turned on at 9:05 as bucket for condensate was full. Where was management?

I chose this hotel because it had EV chargers, and the chargers worked! Breakfast was great, too. The room was clean and well appointed, staff were nice, and check-in/check-out was easy.

1) Need for better lighting near EV charger parking spaces--it was so dark I had trouble getting the QR code to register on my phone (which means it's too dark to feel safe as a woman traveling solo, and 2) someone three doors down was smoking very pungent weed, you could definitely smell the smoke in the elevator lobby--tobacco or cannabis, no smoking indoors!

The breakfast was delicious and The kitchen employee (Tiffany)went beyond measures to make us happy.She made sure that my children got their breakfast and left feeling full.Also (Edward)was very helpful in the cafetaria when I was last minute to get my breakfast.I would also like to mention (Kimberly) the front desk receptionist who works the evening shift.She was very Welcoming when we arrived with a big smile on her face and gave us so much advice on how to get through New York city and save time and money.She also gave us a heads up on parking fees and what kind of transportation is recommended.I appreciate that she took the time to explain all this.It really does help when you are a first time New Yorker.And finally the supervisor Francisco was very polite and respectful and offered us extra time to pack up during checkout😊

I just wish that the room service knocking would be around noon instead of early hours because sometimes people don’t sleep until after dawn And still need a little more so they can wake up refreshed .

Very clean room and lobby and elevators. Staff super friendly. Hallway very well lit. Nothing worse than a dark hallway, so thanks for that. The free breakfast was good. Liked the ability to take something away with you. Also liked that each cup was individually wrapped.

Needed a few more tables in breakfast room. The large table was ok but during Covid times I’m a bit uncomfortable sharing a table with so many others. Maybe slightly more comfortable mattress and bedding but for the price I guess it was ok.

The breakfast was really good and the pool was a lot of fun.I also loved the cookies

The pool closed to early we booked that hotel because of the pool and we where out most of the time and came back to late to enjoy it . The sign inside say open till 8 but front desk says 7 so that was a bummer most of them stay open till 9

The property was pretty clean, the bed so comfortable, and Jeff provided us a fantastic service. We stayed for one night because we were assisting my friend's wedding, and we arrived around 2:00 P.M. We called the hotel to asked for early check-in. Jeff told us that he would be trying(no promising nothing, but he will try) to help us. And he did! Check-in and check-out were fast and smooth. And we have a relaxing experience after a stressful and full of activities day!

The breakfast was poor. If the quarantine due to Covid is off, why is the need to continue with that type of breakfast? It is not fear.

Room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable. Check-in process was smooth.

Bathroom door does not close well enough for sound privacy - the barn door design works well for space-saving purposes but does not provide enough privacy required of a bathroom! Breakfast offerings are a bit sad - would be nice to have decent bread, decent yogurt, oatmeal that is not runny.

It was clean, nice decor, had snacks out throughout the day and there was adequate parking. The front desk staff were attentive & very helpful. A front desk staff (African American male) helped me with a cart/brought my things up to my room. Those small but big gestures mean a lot to me & positively impacted my visit there.

There were no microwaves in the rooms.

Everything.. check-in was quick and easy. Hotel and room were clean and stylish. Loved the little shop with snacks and drinks. Breakfast was great. You never expect a free breakfast to be good but this was.

I wish the pool was open later.. we arrived late and it was already closed but totally understandable.
